  1. Dating all the way back to early last season. Once Hart was down for the year. Using ONLY at bats played by players who were playing AT 1st base (not 1st basemen being used as PH'ers, or playing other positions in the field), since the start of the 2013 season, the Brewers 1st basemen have put up an aggregate slash line of .214/.275/.375/.650 That's not bad. That's horrendous. I give him a small pass for 2013 because we didn't know Hart was out for the year. Then again, Yuni. Pass revoked. Sure the backup to the backup to the backup plan wasn't available but that was well over a year ago and still no improvement. Add in one possible upside option was let go and this is a huge failure.

  3. Haniger may be better but with 3 right handed bats already in the outfield for the foreseeable future I don't know hoe he would have fit in. He would have had to play better than passable in CF or hit left handed for this to hurt us much. I know people have said he would push for playing time next year but I just don't see it. We have established starters at all 3 outfield positions.
  4. Hardy was also good defensively and had a better track record hitting in the majors. The big difference this time is no major league ready SS in the minors.
  5. The Brewers win 100% of the time when they have more runs than their opponent.
  6. I don't see many(if any) of the sports writers giving up their HOF vote because they stuck their heads in the sand for over a decade. How can they judge someone else's character when theirs is lacking.
  7. Rule #5 of the BBWAA HOF Election Rules: Voting: Voting shall be based upon the player's record, playing ability, integrity, sportsmanship, character, and contributions to the team(s) on which the player played. Now I'm guessing you don't agree with this rule (or the bolded parts of this rule). That's fine. That's your opinion. However, that does not change the fact that this rule is in place. I'm guessing you also believe that there are players currently in the HOF that don't meet these requirements (i.e. Ty Cobb). You may be correct. Those players may have "gotten away" with having less that average integrity or character. Sometimes people do get away with things that other people don't. Life isn't fair sometimes. However, if you engage in actions that you know may have consequences and you are not lucky enough to get away with it, then I have trouble feeling sorry for you when you get caught and have to deal with those consequences. The only time people point to that rule is when it is convenient. There are also enough guys left out just because of suspicion of using. I believe the whole era is tainted enough you can't believe anyone was clean. If there are guys left out just because there is a suspision they used even the guys voted in yesterday shouldn't have been in.
  8. First check the back of the router, it may be on there unless you changed it. Next check the website for the router for how to connect and change settings to your router. As a final resort you can probably hard reset your router to factory settings. Should be a button on the back that you can push in with a pen
  9. I think anyone whose performance on the field makes them good enough to be in the HOF should be in the HOF. All of the secondary crap will be remembered by most people who care. Are we supposed to just ignore a whole decade plus worth of players when so many were probably using. It's stupid and so is the attitude of those voting on who belongs. Any group of people who cannot come up with a 100% consensus on Maddux going to the HOF is seriously flawed.
  10. He may not be an impact pitcher but his HR should be muted a bit on that division.
  11. Steroids comes up quite often in any LaRussa discussion around here. Hopefully at some point people will see LaRussa for the villain he has always been.
  12. Probably not worth reading anything into any of those stats for various reasons. First being the sample size, second being the unknown level of competition.
  13. OSHA has very strict rules about anything concerning blood. They should hire somebody to professionally cleanup the blood.
  14. I would prefer not to have him back next year because of the previous concerns I had earlier in the thread(injury). I don't see a better option though. I doubt he would sign with us again if we bought him out. I think he would get a couple years somewhere. A .784 OPS makes him one of the best hitting 3B in the NL so far this year.
  15. If a guy would be able to knock it over he would probably be able to catch it.
  16. My solution is balls with more spring.
  17. We can always trade guys is the mantra we always hear whenever there is a questionable signing. Wolf, Suppan, and Lohse come to mind immediately. Players get worse as the contract goes on so if they are not traded withing the first couple years they end up being overpaid and untradable. The only reason a guy would opt out is if they think they can make more money. If they are worth more money we don't want to let them go. If our team operated as you suggest we would be decimated for years. The Astros would laugh at us.
  18. Schafer isn't the problem. We knew the problem coming into the season and have yet to address it. We have to many backup infielders who lack positional flexibility.
  19. All relievers receive more money if they get saves.
  20. Weeks then replace him later for defense.
  21. Wait till he retires and is still making $4m a year.
  22. Or just lock it because it's about the Cardinals and I don't care about them and don't want a thread dedicated to them (whether it be about them scuffling or not) at the top of the board every damn day. If you have to bump it that should be a strong indication of other people's interest.
  23. No. Just no. Braun should never ever be put in a position where he has to use an infielder's glove ever again, ever. Never.
  24. It is sort of scary how they have pitched since the first month. If they can pitch like they have all year overall things should be ok. If they pitch like they have outside of April, things could get ugly. The offense will help but still a little scary.
