  1. I wonder if Bosch was the one who leaked the story of Braun in the first place. I believe that Braun is probably using something illegal. I think many baseball players are though. The cheaters will always be ahead of the testers.
  2. Is it lawn care or selling lawn care services? My neighbor was doing that in Madison a year or so ago and he thought the job sucked. I will ask him for more details if you wish.
  3. Honestly seems normal to me. Melvin likes veterans on the bench instead of young guys who will probably not have starter upside. Unfortunately we have a lot of young bench upside guys in the minors.
  4. I see no reason to get a left handed 1B. I think it would be as bad as signing Ishikawa was last year. At least sign a right handed bat for 1B or a guy who can play more than just 1B.
  5. Giving this a bump. When I grill corn all I do is peel the husk back but dont remove it. Remove the silk then put the husk back. Put it on the grill over indirectheat and remove when done. No need to soak or do anything special.
  6. Make the playoffs Doesn't' matter when they are locked into a contract right now. That only provides leverage if you can negotiate.
  7. Never liked the Marcum trade. I was indifferent at best. I didn't much care for the Greinke deal either. We are further behind as a ballclub now than were were then. Whatever we would have got back in trade for Fielder would have made us better.
  8. Seems like a good minor league signing. I will be upset if he sees any time with the MLB team. I would prefer to just go with Bianchi as the back up SS.
  9. His stats were not all that great. It was a small sample though. I thought he looked pretty good at the plate and hit quite a few balls really hard that were right at guys. His BB rate was decent so if a few more balls fall in I think he looks a lot better. Tough luck season for him last year. Love his swing.
  10. Of course I am not as high on him as you. That does not mean I don't like him. By next season I mean the 2013 season. I think Gonzalez would be better in 2013 than Segura. One season in AAA wouldn't hurt.
  11. Segura proved he would be adequate right now if we needed him. I think Gonzalez would be a better SS next year and Segura's 2019 season will probably be more valuable to us than his 2013 season. What? His 2019 season? How about his 2014 season. It's pretty clear your not high on Segura. I'd like to know why. This kids bat is going to get better each year, and his ceiling is high. Exactly. He will be a better player at the age of 29 than the age of 23. If we keep him in the minors this year there is a better chance he will be playing for us in 2019. Why do you think I am not high on Segura? I want to keep him around a year longer.
  12. I would love to hear your reasoning for this statement. Segura has proved that he is ready. Segura proved he would be adequate right now if we needed him. I think Gonzalez would be a better SS next year and Segura's 2019 season will probably be more valuable to us than his 2013 season. I think Segura will be our starting SS this year. It isn't what I would do but I think that is what will happen. I don't even want Gonzalez back if Segura is the starter. Leaves our manager the opportunity to "play the hot hand" and we could have our young SS stuck on the bench wasting service time.
  13. If we had traded Hart we would have more prospects on top of the guys we currently have. That is how not trading Hart hurts us.
  14. I don't think Hart is sandbagging anything. We had a drought last year. Sandbagging is completely unnecessary.
  15. Not a bargain. It just shows how overpaid closers actually are.
  16. Braun has about $4mish differed for several years. His actual contract never pays him more than $15m in any given year, I believe.
  17. I would love to see Gonzalez signed to play SS with Segura to AAA.
  18. Hate the WBC. The thing itself doean't really bother me. I like the idea but I think it interferes with the actual MLB. In the end all I care about is the Brewers.
  19. Braun is fantastic but I am not sure he will be able to keep playing at a high enough level for long enough to be a HOF player. He got kind of a late start. We really need the Brewers to get into at least one WS for Braun to get elevated to Yount's level. It sucks but team accomplishment means a lot for an individual player.
  20. Great Dane East would be awesome. I would recommend the Vintage on Whitney Way but I am sure they would charge quite a bit.
  21. Corey Hart hurt, shocking. He has had problems almost every single year for the last few years and isn't getting any younger. This was one of the reasons to trade him before the start of the year. One of the big reasons not to sign him long term.
  22. Why would Gomez want an extension? Why would we want him at more than a million or two a year with Schafer?
  23. Considering how volatile relievers are from year to year, I would say yes.
  24. Steroids probably had more of an impact on shortening recovery time on injuries and older players being able to play longer.
  25. I really doubt that happens. Aoki fits too neatly in what Roenicke wants. Unfortunately.
