  1. I can't wait to see everyone trying to see as many pitches as possible against Skenes. Let's get some deep counts.
  2. Yeah, I'm very sure that LoCain was nicknamed Low Battery-- which is hilarious. And I always heard Podzilla for Podsednik. Finally, this list left off my favorite (for sarcastic reasons) nickname..."Hollywood" Royce Clayton.
  3. He tried to make some changes to his swing if I remember correctly. It seems like trying to make improvements completely broke him.
  4. Anecdotal, but I think this has more to do with the leagues attitude towards addressing controvercial issues. My perception is that they could have done more for player safety when more CTE studies started coming out. I also swore off the NFL indefinitely after the DeShaun Watson stuff. Of course, then Jordan Love got really good so I came back.
  5. Even with moving to the pen, I don't think Miz has the innings left in the tank to play into the playoffs. I'd like to see what Ashby can do if given a single inning at a time. We have enough options for long relievers with Meyers back and DL Hall pitching so well.
  6. When was the last time they had the best record in baseball outside of the first 2 weeks of the season?
  7. What's crazy and exciting to me is that in these games against the Dodgers, while we are hot, we also are clearly the more complete team in all facets of the game (besides slugging). I don't know if that will continue for the rest of the season, but if the playoffs started today, this team would be an incredibly difficult out in any length series.
  8. To be fair, the people making these decisions have much more information and medical knowledge than we do.
  9. I was there. To me it was more of a "how did nobody have a contingency plan for this" than anger at how it ended. I got to see 12 innings of the best players in the world. Hard to complain about that.
  10. 1-3 weeks just before the 4 days off for the ASB is about all you could hope for. Maybe he just skips the road trip to stay home and rehab in time for the Marlins/Cubs series.
  11. His 2004 and 2005 were 200+IP & sub 4 ERA/FIP. He'd basically be our #1.
  12. One of my favorite things on the internet. (Note, very NSFW, so don't watch if you want to remember Uke as the family man and NBC announcer).
  13. I just don't think its that binary. An early takeaway and a hyper efficient offense with perfect QB play can also help a pass-rush when defenders can pin their ears back and get after the QB.
  14. This team goes as JLove goes. If he plays our of his mind like he did at the end of last year, they can beat the Lions even without a better pass rush.
  15. Any transplants or travelers heading to the game? Ticket prices are just too much for me to pull the trigger.
  16. Don't you think they can afford more than 1 hotel room?
  17. Let's be real, the team has vastly outperformed expectations given the change in management and injuries. I am beyond thrilled at the results we have seen from this group of players and am more excited about this next run than I was when I thought we had the next A's/Braves pitching staff locked up for 5 years in Burnes, Woodruff, and Peralta.
  18. Yes, here's to no wall punching in the locker room.
  19. I think you have made your opinions very clear at this point.
  20. I am struggling to understand how someone could have such an advanced eye at 20. Its one thing to be extremely talented at barreling up the ball, but he's started to command the strike zone.
  21. Sorry, but Gary Sheffield was the best rookie in 1989, and nobody can convince my 8 year old mind otherwise.
  22. I missed the first part of the game, so when I saw him run to first, I honestly had no idea anything had happened to him.
