  1. Ok, but dominating? That word is different to me I guess...
  2. I don't see Henderson starting out with the team right out of the gate. I'd think Ashby would get the chance at our #5 before Henderson, unless they have already made the announcement that Ashby with be long relief. Even then, I don't think Henderson is quite that high in the pecking order just yet.
  3. Fanduel carries my new favorite show! Foul Territory. Found it a few weeks ago, and it is now in my daily viewing routine. I like the fact that the panel really does say what they feel about all things baseball. I don't like the fact that they are against a salary cap in general. Eric Kratz is a fun watch, so is AJ Priesinski (probably murdered that spelling) Took me a few episodes to get used to Scott Braun, but he has grown on me. Great show that fills my offseason baseball needs.
  4. I guess not, can't find what I thought I read yesterday...I guess I'm just making things up now. :(
  5. I thought the Mets signed him yesterday?
  6. Question: Overlooked by who? Freddy is Freddy. I think we have seen exactly what he brings, and I truly hope he has another level to step up to. NO ONE is overlooking Freddy, EVERYONE is looking to him to provide the ace to our staff that we desperately need. So far, he hasn't been able to provide us with that. Far from overlooked. Bauers? Jake Bauers? THE Jake Bauers? Nah, not a chance, not even a remote chance... The fact you include him on a list like this makes me question your motives. lol Durbin. No clue, absolutely no clue what this tiny little guy will bring us. Haase. Has never dominated, has never given any indication of dominating. Again, I think you are just reaching for names to put on this list. Hoskins. He has no where to go but up. After last years total disappointment of a season, all we can do is hope he finds himself again after a full season post injury. At his peak, he was not dominating, I doubt that suddenly kicks in now.
  7. Ty France only got 1 million? I know he isn't great, but for that price, he would have been worth a shot over a guy like Bauers. Twins signed 1B Ty France to a one-year contract. The non-guaranteed deal is worth a reported $1 million. According to the Pioneer Press’s Betsy Helfand, Twins manager Rocco Baldelli said today that France is “going to play a lot. That’s really the best way to put it.” It seems like bad news for fellow right-handed hitter José Miranda, who looked like the favorite to start at first base a few days ago.
  8. Christian Yelich said there’s no concern about his status for Opening Day following back surgery. Yelich seemed a little annoyed that GM Matt Arnold labeled him a question mark earlier this week. He’s been gearing up normally and said he feels good. The Brewers will surely go slowly with him at the beginning of the spring, but that’s pretty typical, too; he’s totaled between 11-14 games each of the last four springs. Source: Adam McCalvy
  9. My biggest issue is that while we have sat quietly the Cubs and Reds have not. I don't think anyone can look at our roster and say that we are comfortably on the top of the Central. That just isn't the case. We could finish 3rd as easily at 1st. If we don't win the division outright, there is probably a pretty good chance we don't get a wildcard either. The National league is full of really good teams, so to me it feels like it's win the division, or bust. Are we good enough to win the division? I think it's a crapshoot, and adding a big bat to replace Adames was paramount to our chances. We didn't do that, so it will be interesting to see what happens. (I am not saying that we should have paid Adames, I don't think I have seen anyone say that here. I think the Giants are going to regret the hell out of that contract to be honest. I do however, think we should have done a lot better at attempting to replace his production.) If I have to watch Counsell take the Cubs to the Central title, I'm going to puke my guts out.
  10. Well, he's not wrong... I'm ready to stop thinking about what we should have done, and start concentrating on the upcoming season and what we do have. It isn't a done deal yet that they don't go out and get another player via trade.
  11. There is already a Brewers optimism thread that this post would have fit into nicely.
  12. If the Cardinals were willing to eat the majority of his contract, he'd already be gone.
  13. a quarter million dollar contract meaning 250 K? I doubt anyone signing for 250 K is going to help us much...
  14. Sorry, but I'm giving them an F. We didn't do one single thing that marks an improvement over last year, in fact, I'm pretty sure we may have gotten worse on the whole, while the rest of the division made moves to close the gap on the Central title. Replacing Adames was going to be tough for a team that refuses to spend, but I really expected a trade that would address our total lack of power in the IF. Didn't happen, instead we got an infielder via trade that we have no idea what he will be. A prospect I guess... Yes, hopefully, and it's a big maybe, Turang and Ortiz improve and make up some of the ground we lost in Adames. What if they don't? What if they are the exact same players as last year. What if Hoskins is the same player as last year? Can Durbin make up for all that averageness? I just don't see our infield being better than last year, and is more than likely, without replacing Adames' power, going to be worse. Durbin is going to have to shock the world for us to be better in the infield, and that just isn't likely. Outfield stays the same, however, we will be better there if Chourio plays an entire season the way he played his second half from last year. If Yelich is fixed, that could be an improvement too if he can see the field 130+ games. Mitchell will have to step up and be the guy we have been hoping for, but can he stay healthy? Still have Frelick and Perkins, so not a lot of change all in all. We will 100% need Chourio and Yelich to anchor this offense along with Contreras, or we are in deep do-do, as nothing else is guaranteed. I suppose Cortes provides us with another stable option, providing he can stay healthy, but we have the guy for one year, that's it. Freddy will be Freddy. We can NOT count on anything from Woodruff until we see what he's all about. He's a HUGE question mark, and could just as easily give us nothing. We already know Hall is hurt, and don't truly know for how long or how serious it might be. Can we count on Ashby? I sure hope so. Civale will eat innings and be a solid #4. We know we won't be seeing Gasser this season. I am counting on Tobias taking another step forward, if not, our rotation could be a mess, especially if we have another injury to contend with. So to start the season, we are looking at a rotation of this: 1. Freddy 2. Myers 3. Cortes 4. Civale 5. Ashby/Woodruff/Combination of high prospects? The bullpen I don't worry about. We know it will be a strength as it always seems to be. Does anyone get the most of nothing like we do in the bullpen? Just not a worry imo. So in the end, how is this line-up any better than last year, and how are we going to hold off the Cubs and the Reds, who have obviously gotten better? Time will tell, but I'm sticking with an F for my off season grade based on the fact we did next to nothing and our division got better.
  15. This is the first I have heard of this information... Christian Yelich (back) has a chance to be ready for Opening Day. “I think there’s a chance that he can be involved early in the season for us, but we just want to be super cautious with this,” Brewers general manager Matt Arnold told MLB.com. “Once we get him on the field getting live at-bats, we’ll evaluate him and see how he does.” There’s zero incentive for the Brewers to push things with Yelich as he continues to recover from last August’s back surgery, especially since they want to have him fully healthy for the stretch run and postseason. Arnold previously stated back at the Winter Meetings that the veteran outfielder was on track to be fully healthy for spring training, so this latest development is a bit surprising. There should be some much-needed clarity on his Opening Day status at some point during spring training. Stay tuned. Source: MLB.com
  16. DVD Purge: Cat's Eye - Back in the day, I liked this movie. In this day, it is just meh. Gone Clerks - When this was released, it may have been different than anything before it. Today, it doesn't deserve the praise that it still gets. Goner Clerks II - Goner Clerks III - Goner
  17. Geez No reason to take this down the race baiting highway. C'mon.
  18. Being a TDS member, as far as I can tell, Brewers games will be played on FanDuel (Old Bally's), with no extra fees for TDS members. TDS has been awesome, and I like it much better than all the streaming options. The only channel they don't carry that I want is AMC, it has everything else I could possibly want or need.
  19. Which is why a trade isn't fully out of the question... As the days go by though, that is looking less and less likely..
  20. Based on what exactly? I view him as a lottery pick at this point. Worth it if dirt cheap in a prospect, but handing over the starting 3B job to him wouldn't be very smart. He's done nothing to earn it.
  21. That would be gross. Dude doesn't even want to play anymore. Baseball is not a priority for him, no thanks. Talk about a clubhouse cancer.
  22. I've already committed to my mind that we have Contreras for 2 more seasons, not three. I think the odds of him being traded after the 2026 season is probably 75% or higher, assuming he continues doing what he's doing with the bat. Not a chance we'll be the ones paying his next contract, so he's gone after 2 more seasons, making Quero untradeable. Of course, if we get an offer that we can't refuse, that's a different story, but Quero in a trade for one season of Cease better not happen.
  23. I am going to blindly continue to assume that we trade for a legit 3B in the next few days. I am prepared for complete and utter disappointment, but choose to do this to myself...
  24. Kind of looks like the Cubs are no longer in on Bregman? Ari Alexander of KPRC 2 in Houston reports that the Astros have increased their initial offer to free agent third baseman Alex Bregman. The longstanding offer that the Astros had on the table was believed to be for six years and $156 million, so it stands to reason that whatever they’re offering now is at least a step above that. Alexander cautions that the improved offer is still unlikely to get a deal done with Bregman. The Tigers still seem to be their main competition here, and the only team that’s seemingly willing to give Bregman a six-year contract while the Red Sox may have pivoted and have been discussing a trade for Nolan Arenado with the Cardinals.
