  1. Ask someone who is unemployed. I'm at ~300 applications over the last 6.5 months. And I have a MBA from UW-Madison (with a 3.93 GPA). Almost 40% of companies said they anticipate having layoffs in 2024 and over half say they are likely to have a hiring freeze. We're not out of the woods yet.
  2. Maybe it also signals an extension for Adames and/or Turang starting the year at AAA to find his hitting stroke, and between Adames, Monasterio, Turang, Brown, Zamora, Tyler Black, and Brock Wilken, there's no room at the inn on the left side of the infield and they want to do him a favor and give him an opportunity elsewhere. No room at 2B either with Collins and Dunn. I'm happy for him that it's the Royals and he'll have a better shot to make the majors and hopefully get enough games to get that major league pension...
  3. Ask anyone who has lived in the Eau Claire area, specifically anyone who has worked for him or tried to get him to donate to any causes.
  4. If people think that the current ownership group is or Selig was "cheap", you ain't seen nothing if John Menard buys the Brewers. He's one of the cheapest SOBs on the planet.
  5. We're not out of the woods yet. Consumer balance sheets are in worse shape, credit card balances are at an all-time high, and buy now pay later has exploded. Cuts aren't necessarily a good thing.
  6. In case you can't access the other article without subscribing: https://badgerextra.com/sports/basketball/men/bob-knight-wisconsin-mens-basketball/article_9e093838-7e79-11ee-b478-a39dab70dd16.html
  7. A couple of times during the season I heard the announcers mention that prior to 2023 Adames had a long setup time when getting in the box and that he struggled early in the season to find a rhythm and make the adjustments to be in the box and ready in 12 seconds. I'd be curious to see which batters league-wide had the biggest dropoffs in the 1st half of 2023 compared to 2022 and how that compared to their average setup time. Adames's BABIP in the first half of 2023 was only .238 compared to .278 in 2022 and .331 in 2021. Adames's .217 OBP in May 2023 coincided with a BABIP of .172 in May of 2023. Batted ball luck did play a part.
  8. A spread without a QB who is an accurate passer is an even bigger waste. Most "dual-threat" QBs are single-threat QBs - they can't pass worth a damn.
  9. Reed was wide open, completely uncovered underneath. Love made up his mind pre-snap who to go to. I get that for that play to succeed you can't wait until after the receiver makes his break, but he almost didn't get in when Reed had nobody within 10 yards of him.
  10. This is exactly it. If we're casting blame, I don't know that I'd have Joe Barry even in my top (bottom?) five: Keisan Nixon fumble - directly led to a TD Jordan Love fumble - if he tucks it and goes down they have ~42 yard field goal attempt Jayden Reed losing a perfectly thrown pass that would have been a TD Walker falling down and Runyan getting run over for a 10-yard sack resulting in a long missed FG Jordan Love interception - terrible decision and throw Multiple gadget plays that took a 2nd and medium to 3rd and long
  11. It was actually not rushing. Literally, should have had more running plays to Dillon.
  12. How about an offensive holding?
  13. Now, keep his arse in the pocket
  14. Didn't work the last three times, it's sure to work the fourth
  15. Why do I not trust this to be upheld...
  16. Dillon time
  17. The missed FG was on the OL for the sack. Walker fell down, Runyan got run over.
  18. Run Dillon instead of a reverse. Novel concept.
  19. My god, what do you think they are going to do Barry???
  20. How many times has that happened tonight? 2nd and medium turns into 3rd and long.
  21. There - that's how you do it - keep your interior rush lanes and keep DeVito in the pocket.
  22. Not that it's primary, but the Giants and DeVito have played a perfect game. No sacks, no turnovers.
  23. Walker falls down, Runyan gets run over, Love has no chance. All started because they thought they had to get cute on the reverse.
  24. Toure seems to be the only one who knows what he's doing
  25. Yep, a 3rd and 10 and they forgot to cover the TE which led to that TD.
