  1. I do remember that game and Uecker conversation (we discussed it some in that day's chat), but I'd missed the very beginning, so I didn't have all the information on young Felix. I'm glad he was able to have that experience. Even though it's sad news, thanks for posting it.
  2. The Brewers can't do worse than a series split and .500 road trip...but why not do better?
  3. The first nine innings would go quickly, but the extra innings might make up for it.
  4. I'll join you in the tip of the hat. Despite being a generally hopeful (which is not always the same as optimistic) Brewers fan, I admit to not considering Big Seth even a potential piece of the puzzle when the season began. I'm happy to be wrong in this case, and hope that Seth will stay hungry enough to keep up his good work.
  5. While watching the video clips of Tuesday's game on brewers.com (with the AZ TV team), I was struck by Daron's tone toward the end of Mike Rivera's DP highlight. He said something like "better to be lucky than good if you're Mota." Now, I realize he had a point, but his tone was just about pouty. Keep it professional, man. Glad to see this rollercoaster end well.
  6. followed by 2-hour special edition of Baseball Tonight! They'd rename it to Pedroia Tonight.
  7. Yeah, they're giving virtually no play-by-play. Oh, wait, that was a base hit for the D-backs. This plant Robin's talking about, where the Robinade is bottled, is right along Fish Hatchery Road in Madison.
  8. I'd be interested to know how many stadiums sell soy dogs (besides Milwaukee), and at what stadium the most are sold. But I imagine that would not be of interest to the National Hot Dog & Sausage Council. I'm not looking to restart the meat vs. no meat debate, but I will point out that at least when I ask for a soy dog, the Sportservice people are professional enough to neither stare blankly at me nor laugh in my face.
  9. I'd hold out for John Vander Wal. That would be a triumphant return. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/indifferent.gif
  10. anybody else surprised they used mota tonight and not gagne? Initially I was, but now I think it's Ned attempting to psyche us out. Trot out Mota, giving fans a fresh mental picture of his suckitude...and voila, Gagne doesn't look quite as bad! (Or so Ned hopes.)
  11. I still think this is more indicative of a Brewers addiction than a bf.net addiction...but I totally do this too. My bus route (the aforementioned "Robin Yount" route in Madison) crosses Kendall Avenue. I make sure we have Brawny paper towels and napkins. We were picking out chips to go with salsa at the grocery store Sunday...Manny's.
  12. I'll be deep in the cold, cold ground before I use the phrase "MillerCoors Park" to describe where the Brewers play home games.
  13. When Coshun was talking to Cappy last night, I thought you guys might have been nearby (based on where you said you were sitting - not that my one hour spent in Chase Field makes me an expert in any way).
  14. You'd better. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  15. /rimshot/ Maybe Mike Cameron was disappointed in the hotel staff's failure to ward off autograph seekers? thus the worst hotel he's ever stayed in? (which is probably untrue anyway, given the likely large number of hotels he's stayed in over his lifetime to date) If I'd been in your shoes, yoshii8, I probably would have been too shy to ask for autographs, but that's just how my personality rolls. I certainly wouldn't have been able to take my eyes off the Brewers, and if I'd been as close as the coffee line I think even I could muster up a Hi or Nice game last night or something.
  16. I'm excited for all you posters in 'Zona who finally get to see the Crew in person. The last time the Brewers faced DD at Chase Field, they lit him up pretty good - enough to make the D-backs bring out Jeff Cirillo to pitch the Brewers' 9th. Let's hope that general scenario repeats itself (minus the 'Rillo stint on the mound, which is presumably good news for Craig Counsell).
  17. Maybe there's a non-publicized deal for military personnel/families? That's just a wild stab - but it would fit with Independence Day.
  18. VH-1 has altered the concept of nostalgia with its "I Love the New Millennium" series. They've got a show on 2007! In 2008! I enjoy these series, but come on.
  19. Well, when the Brewers faced Doug Davis in AZ last year, they lit up Sharpie like a Christmas tree. And Rillo is no longer available for Counsell strikeout duty. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/tongue.gif
  20. At least it was a quick crappy game.
  21. I'm wondering the same. Ned's not in a white-flag mood today? The 2008 Minnesota Twins: I'm so sick of these guys!
  22. It was over four years ago - June 8, 2004. The in-game thread was archived. (I thought it was in the 7th that 'the hit' was surrendered?)
  23. Missed Opportunity Tonight...Again. But crewcrazy's right, another chance is coming up in less than 24 hours.
