  1. $750,000 buyout.
  2. I think there is a significant chance - somewhere close to 100%, that you're out of your mind. Please remember to attack the message rather than the messenger. "... somewhere close to 100% that you're incorrect" might not have been the nicest way to state your point, but it would have been a better choice. Note that "significant chance" isn't synonymous with "absolutely." A 20-30% chance would be significant, for instance.
  3. We've taken my nephews to get three Brewer autographs. 2003: Eric Young... traded a few weeks later 2005: Russell Branyan... cut during the off season 2006: Derrick Turnbow... you be the judge
  4. I'm not a season ticket holder, so I'm working with what's relayed to me here on the board. But it sounds to me that fans may have been given the impression that the Brewers were going to work around each player's schedule while they were actually intending to do all the signings on one date.
  5. They were originally separate threads that we merged together. The mods have found that it's almost always most expeditious to keep all general lineup talk in one designated thread. About 107% of the time, discussion of one or two lineup spots will spill over into discussion the rest of the lineup. In this case, merging was a slam dunk. Both threads would have been appropriate places to talk about the opinion held by many that either Fielder or Braun should be hitting #2. The designated lineup thread also offers a place to post full lineups. Doing that outside the lineup thread tends to sidetrack discussion big time.
  6. It sounds to me that this signing needed to be set up to fit several players' schedules and that the Brewers may have dropped the ball a bit in their original communication.
  7. Is there any reasonable scouting angle that might indicate that Kapler may have done something to suggest legitimate improvement since his most recent Major League stints? I don't mean staying at this level; I'm just thinking in terms of him being better than before.
  8. I think this season should be a true indicator of how much or how little Weeks has improved. Exactly. The season--added to the rest of his career--can tell us a lot. Ten games are diddly-squat.
  9. Actually, the commentary about Weeks being misplaced in the lineup is a very salient point in this thread, as it is in direct reference to a reason why Weeks' production may be compromised. Yes, it is pertinent. The issue, however, is full lineup posts. Experience has shown that when full lineups are posted to a thread, it's very easy for attention to be diverted from the issue at hand to something completely different. We could suddenly be talking about whether or not Hardy should be hitting seventh or whether Gwynn or Gross should be in the lineup at all. That's why the full lineup thing was added to the Major League Forum Rules as part of last year's "Keep Brewerfan Beautiful" campaign.
  10. Please keep "full lineup" posts in the designated lineup thread. Thanks!
  11. TC is the former ja002h. I remember Bill rewriting that code for you. Ramblings loaded a whole lot better after he did that. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  12. Yo isn't using a roster spot.
  13. One attendance figure (15,560) was listed for both games, so it looks like this was a traditional single admission double header. Those start times would seem way too close for comfort to have separate admissions. I'm betting the second game time was established for television. By the way, jeffress was used as a noun in reply #2. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  14. I got some money off of a washer at Sears simply by saying I wanted to pay less.
  15. especially when I'm already paying MLB for a separate service outside of my regular cable. Or double-especially, if you live in places like Iowa or Nevada and have to buy three packages to get what many of us get in two packages.
  16. I think it's a temporary thing that avoids fiddling with the 40-man roster.
  17. While I agree with hawing, it's still fun to pretend "slob" is a verb and use it that way. Anyway, I saw the video last night and I felt it was loud and clear that it said "slopper."
  18. Gross is out of options. I wouldn't necessarily compare Gross to Hart. Corey is the younger guy with stronger minor league credentials. And I wouldn't Gross' his current reserve status as an indicator as to how he might fit in upon a Cameron return. Doug and Ned were looking for defensive center fielders to replace Mike. Needs will change in a couple of weeks, and a solid lefty bat off the bench would seem to look pretty good.
  19. Bingo and bingo!
  20. There's something that's causing the links to come up as "unauthorized." If you can't resolve this, let us know where you found them, and someone here will be glad to help straighten things out.
  21. Outright waivers (the kind McClung would need) are irrevocable. Seth also may have the right to refuse an assignment. Because of the amount of time he's been in the big leagues, Bush would have to pass through waivers to be optioned. Those waivers can be revoked, however.
  22. I think there's definitely an issue when you're trying to get the game through other than normal means. The staff and mods aren't lawyers here, but we do know when something gives us copyright heebie-jeebies. For the site's protection, I'm going to lock this.
  23. Glasses can distort in ways contacts likely won't. They'll definitely improve the overall "picture," but they may suck a bit when it comes to picking up detail.
