  1. https://www.statmuse.com/mlb/ask?q=wrc%2B+by+position Based on this year's data Joey's bat will play better at 3B, yes SS have outhit 3B league wide. Catcher is the only worse batting position, compared to 3B
  2. You could probably even do a top 30, but only vote on 25 as you would almost certainly get enough differences in the 20-25 range to have 30 different players or more earning votes.
  3. If the swap is really Pratt for Rengifo, the floor on that improvement for the team is around 1 WAR. Which isn't tremendous but is about as good as most deadline deals that work out ever are anyway. And that's conservatively putting Pratt on the low end for a debut (again every SS for the Brewers has hit better in their debut by WRC than Rengifo was doing this year.) Right now that 1 Win would put up to the number 2 seed so definitely valuable to be able to set-up our rotation and skip the wild card round in my book. And importantly I have yet to see anyone propose an actual likely to be dealt viable needle mover between either 3rd base or SS. I would love to see Lara in CF and think between the offense and the defense it could definitely be a big improvement for the team.
  4. I also think it's a relatively low pressure situation for his debut. Not just midweek against an AL team, but overall a lot of the reason for the focus on the left side of the infield was because we already had those obvious alternatives to call-up. Now we have done that and Hamilton has already shown he can provide OK production at 3rd. Keep the batting average up over the Mendoza line and take some walks and we'll spend most of our time waiting for Miz's next start and worrying about his innings at the same time now.
  5. I think Pratt underperforming whatever combination of Rengifo and Ortiz he does offensively is relatively unlikely. Solid strikezone control and good bat to ball skills make that hard to do. As you say there's a good chance it's a lateral move for this season, but one with a reasonable chance of there still being more upside. I think he's done enough as well that you can look at it as him getting that rookie season out of the way and boosting his chances for more development at the plate next year too. Keeping Ortiz around as the utility guy for defense and some platoon protection for Hamilton works fairly well since he's hit better than Rengifo and has the way better glove.
  6. Is it as simple as trying to make a move to try and win the series with the Braves with an eye towards seeding?
  7. Had other obligations this afternoon, so get home log into Brewers see not only did we win but Harrison absolutely remembered how to pitch after suffering through Las Vegas and Pratt is getting promoted. One heck of a weekend series
  8. You have to wonder at that point if you bring him back on short rest for a game 7.
  9. Baseball Reference indicates that ties Miz for the 6th highest Game Score on record https://www.baseball-reference.com/tools/share.fcgi?id=NL00Y No pitch counts available for the Ryan games but no chance those were under 100 pitches. Spahn maybe the only one on that list who could have been as efficient
  10. Ryan did have some very impressive K totals in his No hitters (see link above) but they all had at least 2 walks. One of them he walked 8!
  11. Scherzer had a 17K 0 BB No hitter https://www.statmuse.com/mlb/ask/most-strikeouts-in-a-no-hitter
  12. For comparison in terms of dominant games here is the box score for the Kerry Wood game. https://www.baseball-reference.com/boxes/CHN/CHN199805060.shtml
  13. Given the quality of the opposition, I think it rates ahead of the Sheets game and the Burnes no hitter.
  14. Miz throwing so much heat all our computers shut down
  15. Clearly Schwarber's ex-Cub status is why he is responsible for depriving us of a no-hitter.
  16. 3 innings, 8Ks, only 34 pitches. That has to be on the short list of most dominant ways to start a game.
  17. It's nice to score a win in life every so often well done
  18. Are the later year buyouts guaranteed? Specifically if the Brewers declined the 33 option would they still have to pay them? It doesn't have a huge impact on the value of the deal. The 'front loading' I would think is part of the appeal for sure. Yes he had a good signing bonus, but he is going to have millions more in the bank then he would have if he waited for Arbitration and then the big FA deal. Looking at the breakdown and its almost certainly more raw income until at least 2031 this way.
  19. Pretty sure no besides his mother thought Sproat could pitch 6 innings and only give up 1 run tonight.
  20. I was looking for IHOP vs. Country Kitchen myself.
  21. There is so little info it sure seems like complete guesswork.
  22. I mean one part of me looks at the HR disparity and go with this park everyone should swing for the fences. But as much as we worried about the pitching staff it's probably equally as important that guys don't screw up their swings for these few games and get into a 2 week funk.
  23. While I'd just bring up Lara at this point, as it stands right now regardless of how that unfolds holding onto Garrett is the most likely move. He is providing good actual production for us at the moment, and because of his history with us having a lot of OF options it is easy to give him off days and spread the playing time around, so in some ways that's actually valuable to us. He still has an unusual enough profile that he likely hasn't answered enough questions to bring back a really good return (now again if the Tigers are desperate for us to include him in a Skubal trade that's completely different). Offseason is more often when the club likes to deal position players and at that point if he stays relatively healthy for a whole season and keep producing that value might be very different. Alternatively year 2 of arbitration next year still means he isn't expensive to bring back, or if he falls off you can still move on relatively painlessly.
  24. Radio just mentioned the new stadium location will be almost 1000 ft lower in elevation which helps
