  1. I watched the last time I drove through a cop parked like he was set-up for speed enforcement right on I-94 not move with multiple cars going by 10+ over the speed limit. It's almost like Europe down there. I had a colleague visit Italy for a conference and he described it as everyone driving like they were in a road race trying to pass whoever was in front regardless of the speed.
  2. It's also a good teammate move by Devin, you want Joey not worried about his defense so hopefully he breaks out on offense.
  3. Today is a great day for Burnes to pitch a shutout.
  4. Advanced metric credit him with 1-2 HRs this year in most home ball parks outside of SF. Not much, but given the small number of ABs that actually is a very big bump in the middling OPS.
  5. I've gotten to the point I look to see LHP or RHP before ERA to determine whether or not it's a good match-up for us.
  6. Even in a pretty down year last year Ruf still had an OBP heavy mid .700 OPS. Not great, but something
  7. Aguilar seems to have lost the ability to hit righties well, but still rocking an OPS over 1.000 against lefties. So in that dedicated DH emergency 1st basemen role trading for Jesus seems like a solid move at this point.
  8. Those raw physical numbers definitely suggest an increase in health, which makes me more likely to believe this weekend was a sign of good things to come.
  9. I'd guess Weimer, Tellez, and Adames would all have a decent chance to break 1.000
  10. I don't know how you have that as a statline at AA. Biloxi just got their second hit of the game, but prior to that had scored 9 runs on just a single hit. That's a bad little league game.
  11. If Black could play defense at the moment or was at AAA already posting those numbers it would be different. Another month or so is about right to see if there is some improvement. Not too early to start exploring trade options though.
  12. Being skeptical is certainly worthwhile, and I would not at all mind exploring trade opportunities to improve that roster spot over trying Keston again. But there is more to the stat line then just dominating the same level again, so I am definitely in the give him a chance soon if those improvements hold. Compared to the Nelson Cruz saga Keston is still a baby.
  13. Rodgers the GM certainly would make one long for the days of good ol' Sal Bando...
  14. We could trade them Yelich...
  15. The only reason I want him in AA a bit more is to try and give the league a bit more of a chance to see if they can catch up on him. I'd love for the defense to improve some more, so he was at least average somewhere.
  16. Maybe a better way is that the Cards would need to play .600 ball the rest of the way to get to 87 wins and have a shot at the title.
  17. None of those is super exciting, Cron would be great but it is hard not to picture him as a bit of Coors mirage waiting to happen. But a defensive upgrade at first who hits lefties well would be a great addition if it existed.
  18. We are up to 10 hits including a triple and 3 HRs yet have scored only 4 runs
  19. Doesn't that make Black's line so far this season even more impressive?
  20. I'm guessing at the moment Voit goes first. Winker had a solid start and there is still that hope in the upside. If Keston keeps putting up low K total weeks that has an impact, but unless there are other players showing they deserve the roster spot I'd guess Winker gets at least another month.
  21. Taylor is still pretty good out there defensively, but having Mitchell and Weimer in the OF heading in to Coors definitely would have been a nice asset.
  22. I kind of like what they did, because frankly the 20 million plus the rest of the contract money sure looks like maybe I just retire with my health mostly intact money? Everyone wants to be the guy obviously, but this drops that guaranteed money quite a bit and shifts that incentive.
  23. I'll go a solid 16-11
