  1. Even just getting Taylor and replacing some blackhole ABs could be huge. On the plus side after a weekend against nothing but lefty starters we went 2-1.
  2. I was thinking of it in terms of potential, but the huge power speed numbers in the lower body are so big, that he almost has to have more potential to develop upper body burst as well. Or possibly the tests themselves were somehow under measuring his upper body. Which would be weird, but overall all signs point to there being more capability.
  3. Looking ahead to mid May and the next Cardinals series, they have a middle of the road schedule coming up. They are already 10 back of the Pirates if they don't pick it up we could be looking at a chance in mid-May to just bury them in the standings, with the more balanced schedule and fewer head to head games there are less chances to get hot later and quickly make up ground.
  4. I want my players to play, but I'd be pretty concerned about Ohtani stealing a base down 4 runs in the 8th inning.
  5. Imagine how much better all these young pass catchers will do getting to work with their QB during the offseason...
  6. For the record Turbo we appreciate you taking one for the team and sitting Miley tonight on your fantasy squad.
  7. Given the injuries, and our defense a modest cost reliable starter would be a nice addition.
  8. The current profile is much better offensively. That said his walk rate will likely go down some, but probably remain notably higher. He is still hitting for a healthy amount of power, so it's not like he is suddenly going to get challenged more. It also doesn't seem like nearly as extreme as some of Yelich's changes that ended up really messing him up from his MVP years.
  9. Aside from the obvious, you can't have too many pitchers, with the number of AAA guys pitching well out of the pen are the Brewers also preserving both long term value and trade value on players who would still be considered prospects?
  10. In Wisconsin you only need basic liability coverage, No fault is an extra mandatory coverage that covers your medical expenses regardless of who causes the accident. So if you are a good driver it just adds to your cost.
  11. Is Montana a No fault state? My car Insurance tripled when I moved to MN years ago because of that reason.
  12. 65% is low enough of a threshold were there is a highly unusual chance that we earn the 1st round pick, and it ends up being fairly high. If they are slow to gel on offense maybe they are only 7-5 after 12 games followed by an injury for example. But in the realm of reasonable expectations it's a solid return and clearing the cap and being done with it is nice this year.
  13. I appreciate all the help the Tigers are giving here
  14. Soft schedule, and such means 79 games sounds about right at the moment. It is a long season, but when it comes to making it to .500 it doesn't take a super long time before those locked in wins make it a lot easier to get to .500. The other item is a strong start does might not make it more likely for the Pirates to be big buyers at the deadline, but it almost certainly keeps them away from being sellers.
  15. Unless the Red Sox win tonight though none of the Pirates opponents so far has been over .500
  16. Maybe he made a retirement A-Z movie marathon list, I might make a video game one.
  17. Surprised Brock hasn't chimed in to mention the Saint Paul Saints have been a AAA team for a couple of years now.
  18. I think it's fair to say that if Brice was in New York he's already be hailed as Jeter reincarnated.
  19. Anybody know when the last time we had this good of a long West Coast Road trip? And none of the teams being bad?
  20. Yahoo gamecast still has last nights Win probability graphic in it. I'm a big fan of the 100% win probability in the top of the 2nd.
  21. I could see them stealing a pitcher from Nashville for a day, before grabbing the player they want. The bullpen hasn't been badly overworked or anything, but I could see that as an option.
  22. Speaking of the schedule, the change to playing everyone is really jarring after all these years. I went looking for the stretch when we could try and beat up on the Central teams, and it's just not there. September is the only month we have more than 2 full series against team in the Central. It's just weird.
  23. Because the defense has been so good from Weimer, I'm guessing he's still got until Taylor gets healthy. It's not hard to imagine him having a 4-4 day with 2HRs and a double to significantly improve his line.
