  1. After what they did with Civale I don't know why there would be much doubt with Miz. Patrick is a different story though
  2. Peralta has never really gone deep into games, we have all seen him pitch for years. Over his 15 starts this year he is averaging more innings a game than he has in his career. Not by much but it isn't like this year is any different than the past.
  3. The Brewers might have a little leverage still considering Peralta is set to make only $8 million next year. Would like to see if he would take 5/100 and tear up next year. Would take him through his age 34 season and they have a young rotation not getting paid much. By the time they get paid Peralta will be done. Peralta knows what happened to Woodruff can happen to him so still some incentive to get guaranteed money.
  4. This is a little earlier than the Brewers traded for him last year but would think a trade would be possible versus a DFA, get some salary relief for a trade down the road.
  5. I'm with you on that, they will have a ton of starters as it stands now with options next year that they could send down if necessary. Priester, Patrick, Myers, Henderson, Miz, Gasser, Rodriguez, Ashby. It's not exactly an old rotation with little flexiblity.
  6. Woodruff has been on the 15 day IL all season and can be moved to the 60 day at any time.
  7. I would also guess that this is for one start and then optioned back down for a reliever but makes Thursday's game more interesting. Unless Priester has a horrible outing tonight he has been really solid the last month and a half so not seeing him go down. 40 man is full but easy enough to put Woodruff on the 60 day IL since he has already been on the IL that long.
  8. Would not surprise me in the least if Yelich was voted in so potentially could knock out a Brewers player that should be an All Star. Would go with Peralta, so none of your options.
  9. From the link on the first post: Perkins: Took his first live batting practice in early June and was running without pain. Assistant GM Matt Kleine called it "a big week" in Perkins' surprisingly long recovery. (updated June 4) Mitchell: Mitchell suffered the injury on April 25 and was doing baseball activities in Arizona as of the first week of June. A return by the end of the month was possible, assistant GM Matt Kleine said. (updated June 4)
  10. Exactly, if they didn't think he could return to form they shouldn't have signed him. He may never be an Ace again but sure hope the Brewers thought that.
  11. Not a fan of how Mears was handled either, trying to get two innings out of him. Payamps is probably fine with a clean start.
  12. Since longevity doesn't really matter with this list I would think Jimmy Nelson at least deserves a mention. Put a healthy Jimmy Nelson on that 2018 teams and maybe looking at a World Series. Can't imagine anybody in their right mind taking Chase Anderson, Doug Davis, Mike Fiers or Zach Davies over 2017 Jimmy Nelson.
  13. The Athletics stink and he is a free agent. No idea what it would cost, probably have to overpay this early in the season.
  14. It's early but didn't realize what a good year Luis Urias was having for the Athletics thus far. Only a 12% strikeout rate. Playing mostly 2B but could slot right back in at 3B. Free agent after the year so should be available.
  15. If you want to compare to Counsell, yes I believe Adames would hear boos if he went to the Cubs. Still would not have been as bad though since Counsell was born a Brewer and all of that stuff.
  16. Of course he won't be treated like that. They recently gave Josh Hader a standing ovation. This isn't Jesse Winker here
  17. It is also Star Wars Night, Jedi Jackson Chourio Bobblehead and we get a laser show after the game.
  18. If he stays in the minors, sure. This feels like Rosario will get called up in the next couple of weeks. With Perkins coming back don't really think it is necessary. Collins has still been solid against RHP, which Rosario would be facing.
  19. Myers was optioned after his last start and can be recalled because of the injury to Quintana.
  20. Monasterio is getting on base 50% of the time since getting recalled.
  21. Red Sox may start feeling the pressure of playing Nick Sogard and Abraham Toro on a regular basis. Quality first basemen are not just going to arrive on their doorstep and it is a long way to the end of July. The Brewers could be in position of getting the Red Sox to overpay for Hoskins if they want to stay in the playoff picture. Turnabout is fair play, payback for the Priester trade.
  22. Because Myers started yesterday and they have to call up Woodruff by Tuesday because his rehab time has expired.
