Will be interesting to see if the game tomorrow is treated more like an All-Star Game or really trying to win with the only thing at stake another $300,000 which isn't that much for star NBA players and less than star players make per game.

Williams and Cortes are in the same boat, if they were healthy and productive they would have received a QO from the Brewers. It doesn't matter that the Brewers don't want to spend $21 million on a reliever, they know someobody will and the Brewrers want the pick. Probably riskier with Cortes and his injury at the end of the year.

The two series in July against the Dodgers should be more interesting with Cortes on the team at least.

Looking forward to seeing what Uribe can do this year, his demotion means he is still under a year of service so have a full 6 years with him still. No need to give up on him. The suspension is annoying but think he can be a big part of the bullpen in 2025 so hope they get that out of the way early so it isn't an issue when determining who to call up.

Would have been nice to have Smith as a shuttle option during the season, hopefully nobody wants to deal with Crow coming off an injury.

Glad they held onto him last year, he was due for a bounceback year and looking forward to who they draft. -
I went Friday and picked up a couple of hats, tshirts and kids club memberships. Nothing too interesting. One thing I did notice was the section by the entrance/elevators that had Braves stuff and information on Wisconsin born players was completely removed.

We have seen time and time again that extending or signing catchers to large amounts doesn't usually end well, Murphy is the latest example. With that said, Turang isn't going to get the contract that Conreras will, would be open to talks with Turang especially considering he will be super 2 for the 2026 season and will start getting significant bumps in pay anyways.

I think Reifert is a sneeky good option and somebody should take a flyer on. He had injuries in 2023 but came back strong in 2024 and should continue that in 2025. Excellent slider that gets tons of strikeouts.

I can't imagin Devin would sign a QO offer when Hader gets $100 million, would give the QO without hesitation. It stinks WIlliams blew the playoff game but his numbers have been great.

I doubt something like this would ever pass but like all new rules it gets tried elsewhere first and wouldn't mind seeing those games and how it changes baseball strategy. Would there be a literal ghost runner if the batter reached and he had to bat again a couple batters later in his normal spot.

Good to see somebody liked it. I want to see a holiday movie and turned off by the bad reviews but audience reaction has been better.

Thought maybe Monte Harrison made a big play in college football or something to get this bumped. A lot of posts in this thread didn't age well, kind of odd to pinpoint now.

From the sounds of it only Atlanta offered a 40 man spot, so the only way the Brewers would have received anything is if Atlanta was willing to give up assets for him and give him a 40 man spot.

Kind of like the idea of this date in Brewers history thread. Not too surprising the Brewers would trade Davis, Burnes wasn't the first pending Brewers free agent pitcher to be traded in his final year and won't be the last. Davis signed a three year contract with Arizona shortly after the trade and cerainly the best player in this trade. Pretty common for the Brewers to go after offensive minded players during this timeframe but the former all-star Estrada didn't hit much either during his one year with the Brewers and may be the slowest Brewer I ever saw. A bust for the Brewers.

https://www.mlb.com/glossary/transactions/non-guaranteed-contract According to MLB Per the 2022-26 collective bargaining agreement, arbitration-eligible players who settle with their teams on a salary for the subsequent season without going to a hearing will be eligible to receive full season termination pay, even if they are released prior to the start of the season (this rule will go into effect after the 2022 season). Previously, the salary for such players only became guaranteed if the player was on the Major League roster or injured list when the regular season began. Arbitration players who were cut before then would be owed either 30 or 45 days' worth of termination pay, depending on the point in Spring Training the player was released.

It is a good deal for Haase as well since he is guaranteed that money even if they no longer want him. If he goes to arbitration and even wins he isn't guaranteed that full amount.

There really isn't a deadline for guys like Capra, they will just non-tender when and if they need more 40 man spots. There isn't a roster crunch right now.

The criteria is weird making the rankings useless. Can just pick names out of a hat and there is no difference. An article ranking trade value or most likely to be traded could be interesting but combining both and adding even more criteria loses too much focus IMHO.

I would put Don August in as a starter from 1988. He just released a book as well and still frequently comments about the Brewers

Most of those other guys had high dollar options or arbitration eligible. I don't know what the rush was to get rid of Herget after the season he had and a number of 40 spots currently open but would agree the spots of Capra, Jay, Hicklen are all in danger once they need the room.

The Brewers would only get three years of Stott, all at arbitration prices. Would be okay especially with Adames leaving but would probably be looking at trading Stott in two seasons.

It was obvious but Peralta was listed as #14 in upcoming free agents by the Athletic so somebody there didn't,t think it would be picked up.
