  1. It sure looks like a cheap rotation next year with the likes of Myers/Patrick/Gasser/Mis/Henderson/Priester and maybe Peralta if not traded. Hope the likes of Woodruff, Civale and Cortes can get healthy and show some production before the trade deadline and Quintana can keep it up. If they continue to hover around .500 it wouldn't be hard to justify trading Peralta if the right deal comes along. Wouldn't hesitate to trade 31 year old Megill, Koenig and Payamps either. Could be a great opportunity for the Brewers this season if they play their cards right, make or break time for Arnold.
  2. Yeah, he can be outrighted the minors unless some other team claims him for some odd reason.
  3. Started out 2/27 but a 900 OPS since then.
  4. They will probably end up around where they were last year and the year before. Will be difficult to get to 2008/2011 levels because those were the first playoff teams in around 25 years. Average attendance over the Miller Park/AmFam years has been approximately 31,900 excluding the two COVID years. Unless they are serious World Series contenders, which they are not, they likely won't see an uptick.
  5. They need to get rid of a bunch of dead weight before the upcoming road trip. Capra, Rodriguez and Priester can all go. Have not giving up on Priester but he has to stop walking so many, Woodruff can make his next start.
  6. Don't know. Was looking at Collins, not a lot of at bats(30 PA against both RHP and LHP) but pretty large splits for Collins, hitting great against RHP but striking out a ton and not hitting against LHP but rarely striking out.
  7. Just don't see Cortes being the 13th most valuable pitcher the rest of the way unless he fights through injury with hopes of a big payday still. 14/15/16/17/18 intrigue me the most, think at least three of those will have to be top 10 for the Brewers to make a run.
  8. I don't recall seeing Cooper with that helmet but looks like a Cooper swing.
  9. I guess Priester is gone after tonight and perhaps whoever else eats up the innings the remainder of the game
  10. Adam McCalvy had a couple of updates yesterday. Noted Ashby had some live game pitching at the Brewers Complex in Arizona, Civale pitched batting practice in Appleton and he expects Woodruff to make one more start in Nashville before his potential return to the majors. Mitchell of course was put on the IL this past week and Perkins is on the 60 day IL so don't expect either back until late May.
  11. Not a good start yesterday, a bunch of games against winning teams and a kind of terrifying 4 games series in Pittsburgh during Memorial Day Weekend. They really need to take care of business at home against the Cubs and Astros or this can sprial downward fast. Will go with 13-15.

  13. Somebody will be the odd man out when Woodruff returns, would agree Preister is the most likely but Myers needs to start getting some quality starts in as well. Patrick appears safe but things can change quickly in the next couple of starts.
  14. Disagree he can't create power. This is a high level pattern swing that has and does create power for others. A longer stride forward isn't always necessary for power especially if committed to the high level pattern swing. He is a smaller player so maybe the power never comes but it isn't because of his swing.
  15. It sure looks like the Brewers timing to trade Williams was correct, will probably never know but do wonder what other offers were out there. Hopefully not too much value was put on Cortes and it was mainly to match salaries because his injury history was obvious from the start. Out of everybody Durbin should accumulate the most WAR from here on out but still will wonder what other opportunites were available.
  16. There are a ton of guys in AAA who have never received the chance Capra has. Trade for one of those, it won't cost much and they can't do worse than Capra.
  17. I agree that it wasn't an either/or with Patrick and Smith but would be interesting to hear the thought process on why they Patrick and not Smith and how close they were to adding him.
  18. Will be nice to get Perkins back but sure seems like it could be a while still if he is just resuming baseball activities.
  19. I don't think they go with Yoho until after the Myers activation and corresponding move at the very least. Wouldn't be opposed to a Payamps outright and working out his issues in the minors. They have to pay him still but don't thinkg somebody else takes his contract on with the way he is pitching.
  20. Ray and Adames have something in common in that they both got paid in free agency. Don't think Ray will pay though, the Giants will be doing that for a while and probably already have buyers remorse.
  21. That was pretty easy.
  22. If they are going to do this hopefully play Durbin every day for the most part with Capra on the bench with an occasional start and defensive replacement later in the game. Got an extra year of service by waiting to call up Durbin.
  23. I don't think they would have brought Henderson up if they intended to start him on Sunday. Certainly can pitch tonight if things go sideways with Priester.
  24. If Durbin can't play 3B he is kind of useless on this Brewers team. Their plan must have been Ortiz at 3B, Turang at SS and Durbin at 2B before Turang stated having issues. Durbin is just another Tyler Black with Turang set at 2B for years to come.
