  1. I thought Miller was already a minor league free agent so a little surprised they received anything for him.
  2. Lots of question marks in that 4/5 spot, I am all for continuing to develop Ashby and Hall but don't think it necessarily means Rea is gone. He stabilizes the rotation and gets you 30 starts over a long season, like this past season he might not be needed in the playoffs but is needed for the grind of the season.
  3. Josh Hader received a $3 million dollar raise to $14 million after his poor 2022. He was arbitration 4 so WIlliams won't get there but if williams was 2/3 salary at $7 million, his option is right in line with what he should receive in 2024. Don't think the shortened season for Williams is such a negative as others presume. We'll see, maybe as early as the end of the week.
  4. I don't believe MLB Trade Rumors is correct in this case and it is a lock the option is picked up. Guess we will find out soon enough
  5. Mets looking pretty bad against the Dodgers, at least I won't have to hear that every team that beats the Brewers makes the World Series anymore.
  6. The average relief arm is Peguero in this scenario not Williams.
  7. MLB trade rumors must have screwed up Williams arbitration estimate. No way he only makes 7.7 after earning 7 million in 2024. Risky move if the Brewers decline the option and go to arbitration. Wilson is a nice guy to have in the regular season. Figure they work something out prior to tender deadline. I would tend to agree that Hoskins is back but anything is possible after they were able to dump Jackie Bradley a few years back. There are a number of fringe guys that can be removed at any time if somebody better is added including Hicklen, Capra, Collins, Dunn, Herget, Zastryzny and Jay.
  8. Was at the game and appears pretty much everything has been covered already. Really could have used a dagger hit from Contreras in the 7th, if he wasn't good should have went with Mitchell there. The walk in the ninth bothered me but he came right back with a strikeout, it was that pitch to Nimmo on 0-2 that really hurt. Alonso up with two out and only 1 on and we probably get a different outcome.
  9. I mean he has a long ways to go before top 5 of all time. Even after his initial contract with the Brewers is up he is going to need some great years.
  10. I was disgusted yesterday and vowed to never attend another Wild Card game but already bought tickets for tomorrow. Have to win today though in order to attend tomorrow, let's go Montas.
  11. Wild Card roster, no Milner, Rea, Hudson, Peguero
  12. They had a Twitter post yesterday with a soundbit from Hudson mentioned how they have some dogs in the bullpen, kind of weird that they are still featuring him in social media.
  13. Yeah, hopefully the same thing happens to the Mets but unfortunately for them only two wins are needed and they won't be going back to New York for any home games.
  14. Already going to be cutting it close coming from Madison, please don't take 94.
  15. HBO Max had a pretty good documentary series on Rose this past summer. Not really surprised he was never let back in based on his past actions but still sad.
  16. Kind of interesting that Zastryzny is healthy and ready to go just as the regular season ends. Seemed to be on the 60 day IL forever. Would take Peguero over Mears if they are looking for another RHP. Think they go 13 pitchers at this point with the lack of position players and Frelick hurt.
  17. I guess the Diamondbacks don't want to go to the playoffs. Another Diamondbacks loss and a Mets win means no Monday games.
  18. Something kind of interesting is that the Diamondbacks lose the tiebreaker to both the Mets and Braves so that second game may still have to be played even if one of the Braves/Mets clinch a playoff spot after the first game.
  19. The Dodgers have to balance the fine line of not allowing the Padres to catch them for the division while still allowing the Phillies the #1 seed so the Dodgers can avoid the Padres in their first series.
  20. Good to see. Anything that can benefit the Brewers I am for. Pitch their top guys and their bullpen.
  21. He would get a week of service time so would delay being called up next year a little bit so not really. They may regret at least experimenting with a better RHP, they always could have left him off the playoff roster if they didn't like what they saw. I don't want to see someobdy like Mears in the playoffs giving up another HR or Peguero coming in with the bases loaded. One more better option at RHP would have been nice. Fortunately Ross has stepped it up in relief.
  22. Saw this over the weekend. It was really well done and and is pretty much that final exclamation mark on that team. Even though we all know what happened it gave me a better appreciation of how much that team went through that final weekend, right into the playoffs and into the World Series. Their season could have been over a number of times but they always overcame the odds, which makes it more heartbreaking they couldn't hold onto that lead in Game 7 of the World Series. It obviously still bothers Yount they didn't win, he has accomplised so much but unfortunate the greatest Brewer could never win it all. Also have to say that I never knew what a good interview Ted Simmons is, always viewed him as a gruff, down to business guy with not much personality but he was good in this.
  23. As bad as the bottom of the position group is you don't really see 13 pitchers in the Wild Card round so won't see 5 lefties on the Brewers roster.
  24. With the open 40 man spot could certainly go with Miller for the playoffs, don't think he would take Monasterio's spot but the one currently occupied by Collins. Not a big fan of Miller but he has shown he can get hot in the majors for short stints and has more experience then the other guys.
  25. Not ideal to have the last week+ worth of games meaning pretty much nothing but hope they do give rest for those that need it. Hopefully they can turn it back on in 10 days against these Diamondbacks or Mets.
