  1. A little concerned when Rays are trading away pitching. Didn't see anything on a return but may hurt.
  2. Keuchel had been bad at Coors Field the couple of times he pitched there in 2022 and 2023, would expect more of the same this time around. Feltner isn't very good either so will see what happens but I am gald the Brewers only play at Coors once a year. Always dred these games.
  3. McCalvy had a couple of updates this past weekend. Had a bullpen 6/24. Another one 7/9. https://x.com/AdamMcCalvy/status/1806772686527619321
  4. There are many Brewers that were here much longer that never had a month like Owen Miller had in May 2023. Not much of a loss however if he gets claimed.
  5. Even though Chourio has had a great June with OPS over 900 I would have to think Myers gets Pitcher and Rookie of the Month if he wins today.
  6. It can when discussing the 40 man because Mitchell's spot currently does not count toward the 40 since he is on the 60 day IL. If he is still injured they do not have to free up a spot for Mitchell. DL Hall is also on the 60 day IL and will likely need to be added back to the 40 man in the not too distant future barring a setback.
  7. Mitchell left the game after a swing in the 9th, might not be coming back from the 60 day IL after all. https://x.com/MiLB/status/1806042688569180477
  8. A lot of hard hit balls, looks like the Brewers are throwing money away with this acqusition.
  9. I don't expect much here but for a guy that has made a ton of money over his career and already reached 10+ years in the majors he must really want to pitch and end his career on a high note. We'll see what happens but assuming at this point he starts against the Cubs.
  10. That is strange that Winker continues to be horrendous when being the DH.
  11. With the lineups out it is now a given that Willy Adames has qualified for the Brewers Wall of Honor based on 2000 plate appearances.
  12. Regarding Frelick, I missed it but he had a horrendous strikeout call against him on Wednesday. I don't know if there is any way to get information like this for the season but if umps are calling the high strike against Frelick it could be a contributing factor to some of his struggles this season.
  13. We are no where near this point yet but a DFA would get him off the 40 man and perhaps somebody would take on the contract. Kind of what they did with Josh Lindblom.
  14. Yelich is now only 1 SB away from being in the 200 HR and 200 SB club, which he would be the 53rd player. From what I can tell there have been 11 former Brewers on that list, including Yelich. (Aaron, Braun, Cameron, Grissom, McCutchen, Molitor, Sheffield, White, Wynn, Yelich, Yount)
  15. I would guess Blalock is very temporary and may not even pitch again, keeping the spot warm until Junis gets to San Diego.
  16. I really hate how the Brewers insist on having a crappy pitcher occupy the last spot like Hernandez and White. I understand that they are seeing what sticks and they could find success like they have with others but when they find out that a guy like Herget doesn't suck just stick with him instead of rotating in bad players.
  17. Credit to the Brewers for sticking with him after that White Sox start, some of it was out of necessity but they could have done a DFA like Meeker and went with somebody else. They have now been rewarded with three excellent starts in a row. Julio Teheran did something similar last year with early success and then the bottom fell out but even if that happens it has been nice that Myers has been able to stabilize the rotation when the Brewers needed it the most. Best case scenario is they have a cheap starting pitcher for a number of years. Also like that this stings a bit for the Guardians as we have had to watch Brantley and Fry have success with them.
  18. Wouldn't blame Detroit for trying again, worked out last time.
  19. Perkins is better than Frelick, probably needs to go to AAA once Mitchell is back.
  20. I think a reunion with Mark Canha could make sense as a OF/1B/DH, he still hits lefties extremely well so could offset some of the weakness we have right now putting Perkins/Frelick/Mitchell/Bauers in the batting order against LHP.
  21. I think it was somewhere in this game thread where somebody mentioned the game thread isn't about big picture and just this game. However, this game stings less for me because Chourio is the guy and not a couple years down the road, this season. Exciting times.
  22. I was all for trading him in the off-season but not going to fool anybody now.
  23. Not for the type of pitching they would get for Adames at this point.
  24. It's no doubt Peralta unless they trade for a top of the rotation starter.
  25. Christian Yelich has been sitting on 199 HR since May 29th, should also get to 200 SB this season as well, currently at 194.
