  1. With the open 40 man spot could certainly go with Miller for the playoffs, don't think he would take Monasterio's spot but the one currently occupied by Collins. Not a big fan of Miller but he has shown he can get hot in the majors for short stints and has more experience then the other guys.
  2. Not ideal to have the last week+ worth of games meaning pretty much nothing but hope they do give rest for those that need it. Hopefully they can turn it back on in 10 days against these Diamondbacks or Mets.
  3. With the Shuckers season about over would give Martinez a look the final week of the season since in reality the Brewers are not playing for much of anything. They can then keep him if they see something they like or DFA if they don't feel he is deserving of a 40 man spot, which is basically the equivalent of losing him to minor league free agency. Furthermore, if he showed anything he could also grab the 14th position player spot on the playoff roster currently being occupied by one of Collins/Hicklen/Capra/Black.
  4. To call Hudson up they have to send a pitcher down or DFA them, but yes I imagine it comes down to Hoby or Hudson. Ross was likely a DFA target at one point but he delivered in relief. Tough choices coming up for the pitchers on the playoff roster.
  5. It would have been awesome if the RF had a little trouble on Chourio's hit to the corner in the 9th, Ed Sedar would have certainly windmilled him home.
  6. It's over, kind of bummed the Cubs lost today.
  7. Sure feels like it will be the Diamondbacks again. Mets continnue to be hot and should end up in that 5 spot.
  8. Can't leave out the future HOFer
  9. We all know Vinny Rottino as one of the guys on the Bally's broadcast, but before that he was the last Brewers to wear #8 prior to Ryan Braun.
  10. With you on this one. I have always been more on board with Yoho, not really any downside optioning Peguero and bringing up Yoho. After this game they can't just give Rae a spot in the Wild Card round. Put the best dozen or so pitchers on the playoff roster and leave low leverage filler like Wilson, Milner, Peguero off it
  11. I get as sick of hearing about 1982 as the next guy but this feels different to me. It's not just the Brewers running out these guys again to sell tickets it is a full length documentary movie. Almost feels like a swan song, a last hurrah. Perhaps a passing of the torch and this current team is destined to do something special.
  12. He isn't stealing anything, he is on the 26 man roster so it would be an upset for him not to make it on the playoff roster. I don't really want understand why you mention him taking a roster spot from somebody already on the 26 man roster like Haas or Monasterio. They still have a 26 man roster in the playoffs. Unless Oliver Dunn comes out of hibernation I can't even think of another guy that has even a remote shot.
  13. I'm not seeing anybody else in the organization that will take Bauers spot. He has his role as power bat off the bench and late inning 1B defensive replacement. Too late now to do anything. They got Hoskins to deliver in the playoffs and imagine he will get plenty of opportunity.
  14. It would be tough to lose Ernesto Martinez after playing his entire career in the Brewers organization. He has had a great second half, would be nice to see if he can continue to hit at AAA in 2026. Brewers lack hitting in the upper minors and 1B isn't exactly deep. The correct side of a platoon. Think he has better shot at success in the majors versus Clarke at AAA.
  15. The fringe guys have to produce , not going to be given a long leash. Brewers may never get a big league hit. Collins is more versatile and could stick as a guy that can go back and forth between the majors and.minors.
  16. I park on 44th Street near the stadium but it can fill up fast. Many of those spots are closer than general parking.
  17. The Brewers have had a rough few games but mighty thankful for at least some October baseball so don't have to pay much attention to that pathetic Packers team.
  18. ROY of the year is nice and all but since the Brewers can't get a draft pick if he wins I don't really care. Like others have said he should be a MVP candidate for a number of years. ROY can be goofy at times. I remember being a kid and everybody wanted to watch Ken Griffey Jr. and obtain his Upper Deck card but he ended up being third in ROY to Gregg Olson and getting one first place vote. Losing that didn't impact him too much.
  19. They may want to bring up Hudson if a pitcher injury happens in the next 15 days and can't do that if he is on the IL.
  20. In extras they probably should have went with Haase to try to win the game against the lefty. If they fail they still have Monasterio to play infield. Go for the win in extras instead of having Turang bunt with eveybody charging in and ulitimately hitting a weak grounder.
  21. I definitely would have lost money if betting on the Brewers this off season. However, even when I am most pessimistic I can never bet against the Brewers.
  22. After losing to the Brewers the Giants put Taylor Rogers, Tyler Matzek and Thairo Estrada on waivers, expect some more if they lose today.
  23. Still think they get somebody on waivers. Take care of the Giants and some guys become available.
  24. The Brewers did pretty good on this contract guaranteeing the one year and now likely picking up the $5.5 million option for 2025 since he pitched so well this year. Don't really want the Brewers going multi-year with too many guys in their mid 30's. It would not surprise me one bit if Rea had a disaapointing 2025 but he earned his money with just his 2024 production.
