  1. It's nice to see the Cardinals have guys like Mikolas in their starting rotation, next year as well. Hopefully another 3 home run game like the last time the Brewers faced him in St Louis.
  2. I like Elvis and not really for trading him as he is a cheap bullpen piece for a number of years still and has shown he can be effective. However, it was necessary with everybody coming back and Megill is an obvious upgrade. Joe Ross will be gone by the end of the month but for now they mantain depth an he can eat up garbage innings. Would keep Zastryzny over Ross as Zastryzny is a cheap replacement for Milner next year. They do have to look at the potential playoff roster and it is highly unlikely that Bryse Wilson pitches an inning in the playoffs. They need to bring up Yoho or Miz and see if they are a viable option to help during the playoff run.
  3. I want the Brewers playoff run to last more than 24 hours so would prefer the bye no doubt.
  4. That would be awesome. Don't think it happens but one can dream.
  5. David Fry had a nice start but sure has struggled these last couple of months.
  6. Dodgers acquired him in trade so waiver prioroty didn't really matter at the time.
  7. Right, there is a decent chance Haase wouldn't get claimed but he could go anywhere he wanted. For his sake it might make sense to play for Nashville as he could still be called up again due to injury or September 1 and potentially make his way on the playoff roster.
  8. Just guys coming off the IL or optioned due to roster crunch by that point. Don't expect anybody we have not seen before on September 1.
  9. Not feeling real confident with Peguero and Mears as right handed options during the playoffs. Yoho could be a significant upgrade, they really need to see what he can do at the big league level by September.
  10. It's not really a mismatch either way, Peralta isn't exactly where he wants to be but Kershaw hasn't been real good since his return either and has yet to complete 5 innings.
  11. Get to use Turang at 2 and 0.
  12. Having families pay extra to sit in the Terrace and go to the family areas is a tough sell. Paying to go to a Deer District type area seems kind of insane. Some of the other premium seating areas in the survey would seem to make sense to earn more revenue and get the stadium up to date.
  13. Yeah, the Brewers got beat pretty good around the same time last year in Atlanta from 7/28-7/30 so quite the reversal. Of course we saw what happend to Atlanta last year in the playoffs so who knows.
  14. This sweep is extra sweet because I attended two games last week that they lost to the Braves and heard it from their fans. Keep it going against the Reds now and have a nice homestand for the fans these next ten games.
  15. Only if he agrees, would be nice if he did so once Hudson returns.
  16. Not mentioned but Hall could still be optioned and still not lose that final option if he stays under that 20 day mark. By that time the rosters expand by another pitcher and no option lost. If Hall is the first one ready to come off the IL the easiest thing to do is DFA Ashby and keep Hall down. Everybody stays in the organization and mantain depth.
  17. Bukauskas as well, he has had three appearances in Nashville thus far and is on the 60 day IL. Tough calls as there really isn't an obvious guy to option from the majors, maybe option Hall and Bukauskas for now, Hall has had 12 starts in Nashville already so maybe they want to keep him there. Hudson and Megill would be welcome additions however. Make a call with Ross or Civale, one of those gets DFA. Perhaps Peguero or Payamps get a 15 day trip to the IL for arm soreness since they have been pitching all season in the majors.
  18. Wishful thinking but Blake Snell after the Giants realize they are not a playoff team.
  19. Ashby definitely is a DFA candidate, nothing guaranteed there besides the money they owe them. Civale stills has to pitch well these final two months to be tendered a contract.
  20. Montas can set the tone for the series. He went to Washington a couple of weeks ago and had a horrible game and it's not like Lane Thomas and Winker did the damage. Would like to be optimistic but Montas really needs to pitch better than he has thus far this season.
  21. Not surprised they traded Junis. Pat Murphy even had that nickname of Green Corvette for him. Can be viewed as light hearted but also some truth to it that they have to gently use him and make sure it never gets scratched or else you can't take it our for a drive again.
  22. With starting pitching at such a premium would protect Henderson/Crow/Patrick.
  23. Have not played in a while but was fun thinking of old Brewers on this off day.
  24. I think service time not being an issue was a contributing factor in not being demoted. There was no real incentive to have him play in Nashville. The front office likely assumed he would struggle to start the year but it is now paying off for the Brewers and fans as he continue to get better during this final playoff push. He really can be a difference maker in getting the Brewers beyond the first round of the playoffs this year and in the future. Don't really care who was right or wrong regarding Chourio except for the Brewers Personell that initially made the decision to sign him and then to further extend him prior to making his big league debut. Feeling fortunate, he is the type of player the Brewers need to get that elusive ring someday.
