Concussions are considered serious in every sport and I would say the NFL is taking the lead in this in no small part to a former WWE wrestler that decided to challenge the NFL and the way they previously treated concussions.
Been to: County Stadium Miller Park Candlestick Park Camden Yards Coors Field Wrigley Field US Cellular Jacobs Field PNC Park Old Yankee Stadium Fenway Park Great American Metrodome Skydome Olympic Stadium Comerica My favorites are PNC Park, Old Yankee Stadium and Fenway. My least favorite are Great American Ballpark and Metrodome. Olympic Stadium was pretty bad too but the fans were rather interesting and the Expos were good that year so it was fun.
Hoffman is very similar to Favre in the respect. Hoffman set a record every time he recorded a save but no one cared until he reached a round number. Favre sets a record every time he throws a touchdown and completes a pass and it will only be a big deal after he reaches 500 touchdowns and 70,000 yards this year. I'm not sure why it is a big deal but these round numbers always gets media attention.
It's about time they did something. I understand not everybody gets cable and they are trying to show games to those individuals but it is hard to watch the games on WMLW when the night before I watched it in HD.
Why in the world would Hoffman want to finish his career as a washed up pitcher on a bad Brewers team when he could potentially get traded to a contender and end his career on a high note.
I didn't realize that they had so much flexibility. If they trade Fielder and Hart for minor league or minimum guys they are around $30 million if they fill the roster with minimum guys. Of course they will have to pay Weeks through arby or an extension and get a couple of starting pitchers.
That was a rather disappointing outing by Chase Wright as he was having a solid year and may have even been called up eventually if he continued to progress.
I believe that has been changed as teams below the cap can acquire more salary than they give away as long as they as they are still below the cap after the trade. So there could be a team willing to take on more salary this year if it relieves them of salary in future years.
The Bucks finally won a game in Summer League yesterday. Larry Sander played decent in the few games averaging 14 points, 8 rebounds and 3 blocks a game but shot poorly from the free throw line. Sean Williams almost had a triple double yesterday with 16 points, 10 rebounds and 9 personal fouls.
I don't know if this has been mentioned before but Narveson has some pretty good post All Star numbers for his career, hopefully it continues: Pre All Star break 6.29 ERA, 1.60 WHIP, .301 BAA Post All Star break 2.96 ERA, 1.14 WHIP, .211 BAA
They are at approximately 1.45 million after yesterday through 42 games so they would have to average about 39,743 for the remaining 39 games. So the answer is no.
I hope they don't end up trading Redd as it would be nice to have some cap space next year after all of the signings and trades that have taken place this year.
I agree olliegjw, Gomez could very easily be public enemy number one this morning as he never even got out of the batters box. Hopefully Cain pans out and Gomez isn't a part of this team in a year or two.
There is no point to a sign and trade in MLB because there is no salary cap. In your example above the Mets gave up a prospect for really nothing in return because they can just sign Fielder in free agency. They are not really common in the NBA anymore either because of the economic environment and the team losing a player not wanting to add more salary.
