  1. I still enjoy watching the Brewers and as bad as they have been playing they still control their own destiny so I'll continue watching and holding out hope.
  2. We may not have seen his best, however when you give up 16 runs in 11 1/3 innings and at least 1 run in 8 of the 9 games in the majors, he may not get too many more opportunities.
  3. I hope there is no sign and trade with the Knicks as I don't really like anybody on their roster, unless they could perhaps unload Bell or Gadz but the Knicks want cap space for 2010. I doubt the Clippers are interested anymore but I wonder if they would have done a Sessions/Bell trade for maybe Camby in return.
  4. He was at Steve's on Bluemound before the game also.
  5. I wouldn't mind giving Eveland a shot, he is only 25 and a full year younger than Parra.
  6. It's a salary dump that saves them 3 million this year and 15 million the year after. I guess they would rather have Villanueva and/or Sessions and their #1 draft pick instead of Jefferson, and I wouldn't disagree.
  7. Bob Saget always was profane and dirty and was just playing the wholesome Dad character on TV. I could see how it could impact Dustin Diamond though and how he would want to be as different as possible from Screech.
  8. With Josh Butler now pitching in AAA is he considered a top prospect by the Brewers? I wouldn't think so since he is not even in the Power 50 and wasn't impressive last year but it seems strange that he jumped from A ball to AAA.
  9. He had that great game against the Brewers in April but since then has a 7 ERA in 7 starts with no wins, so no thanks.
  10. There are obviously a lot of quality places to eat in Downtown Chicago where you are staying at but not a whole heck of a lot around US Cellular. The only bar I saw around there was Jimbo's and it was a pretty dumpy bar. As far as travel is concerned I didn't mind taking the red line which drops you right off by the stadium and even though it's not in the best neighborhood there are plenty of cops around there on game days. Otherwise there is parking around there that is expensive and make sure you don't get lost on the south side.
  11. My first ever visit to the Metrodome will be Saturday, my last will be Sunday.
  12. When you got your 9 pack they enticed you with a free game, most likely opening day. To entice more fans to a Tuesday night game they offer tickets half price. To entice full season ticket holders they offer a discounted price, they don't have to pay marquee pricing and get first shot at playoff tickets. They're just trying to sell tickets and there are different ways to do that for different people.
  13. I was at the game today and didn't think it was on the scoreboard but his HR today was his 1,500 hit of his career.
  14. There were not really a lot of Cubs fans in the parking lot or the stands, I was kind of surprised but it might have been a 90/10 split.
  15. Last year they said they would open the lots at 10:00 but we got in at about 8:45 which was over 4 hours before game time. I'm not sure how they are going to handle it with the 3:00 start time though.
  16. Not a good day for former Brewers as your link has a headline of Tigers release Gary Sheffield.
  17. I would say yes to the first two but I think the third one is tough and could even be interpreted as a 5% tax increase if "people" means millions of people you don't know that are trying to support families.
  18. My friends and I were at the game were Chris Saenz shut out the Cardinals for six innings and we thought the Brewers finally had a pitching prospect. Unfortunately he never played again for the Brewers except as the setup man in my MVP Baseball 2005 video game.
  19. I think some people have misspelled Witrado as Witardo in the past but I think it's just a mistake and wasn't meant to offend.
  20. Why isn't Cody Scarpetta on the 40 man roster page. He wasn't removed from the 40 man, correct?
  21. Nope, Gran Torino was out in time it just got snubbed. I saw 4 out of the 5 nominated movies and thought the Wrestler was better than them all and it wasn't nominated. I was also rooting for Rourke to win best actor but to be fair I have not seen Milk.
  22. Kind of a follow up to the Harvey's Wallbangers on MLB Network. Tonight (Saturday morning) at 2 A.M. MLB Network has a program called Baseball Seasons and they are chronicling the 1982 Season. It originally aired on Wednesday but I just got around to watching it and it was pretty good. The Brewers of course are featured but it goes through the whole season and the major events that occurred throughout the season, which was pretty interesting in my opinion. They even mention the 2008 Brewers toward the end as part of the epilogue.
  23. Glad to see him going back there. I was a huge fan of his when he started in 1989, hopefully he can help bring some life back into that organization.
  24. I think it would look kind of weird to have the Milwaukee Brewers retire a Milwaukee Braves uniform number since the Milwaukee Braves don't exist anymore. However, Warren Spahn is possibly the best left handed pitchers of all time and played the majority of his career in Milwaukee just outside where Miller Park resides so a statue similar to Aaron and Yount would be appropriate in my opinion. I also think Atlanta is obligated to retire his number because that is where the franchise currently resides so it would would look foolish and unfair to Spahn for the franchsie not to retire his number.
  25. Yes, this really is a devastating injury as they were playing pretty well and with the number of home games left had an excellent shot of making the playoffs and bringing some fans back. However, now I don't see any way they can make the playoffs and there is going to be plenty of empty seats the rest of the season. As Garry Howard mentioned in his article today in the Journal Sentinal, unless things change fast there is a definite possibility that they won't be here in the not too distant future. If the Sonics can leave the Bucks can certainly leave.
