  1. Not real confident they can hit the 3 WAR mark as a group again. However, with Vaughn in his prime and Bauers in his walk year, maybe they can do it one more time
  2. With an abundance of lefties it is tough for the Brewers to claim Banda as his contract is guaranteed. Would think that somebody with higher priority will claim him or seek a trade with the Dodgers.
  3. Yes, will continue to dream. If the Brewers have any chance at a World Series the next couple of year he will be a big reason why. I also understand it is far more likely he will put on the 60 day IL in May but I can dream.
  4. It's nice to say that a HOF guy like Ramirez played his entrie career in Cleveland but probably not a great move and would have been better off having him play through his final three years on his conctract. Either way he is going into the HOF as a Cleveland Guardian, even if he spent his final couple of years bouncing around like so many others. If the Brewers could get a couple of more years of Chourio, wouldn't mind it but he already got his money so looking for another long deal. If they keep signing these young, productive players through their entire twenties, that is good for me. Commit money during their prime years instead of their decline years.
  5. I don't see a scenario where Williams is on the roster Opening Day unless there is a ton of injuries, the Brewers need to keep control as long as possible. Monasterio, Perkins and Mitchell better be productive from the get go or they will be heading to Nashville. Add Seigler, Lockridge and Black into the mix and there is quite a bit of flexibility with options among the position player group.
  6. The ending of Song Sung Blue was kind of out there, very exaggerated and not necessary.
  7. Didn't really want to lose Peralta but Williams is intriguing and do like this return better than Burnes even knowing Myers had to go the other way. Can't see Williams making the opening day roster and risk losing him after his age 27 season, see what he can do in AAA.
  8. A lot rides on Quero, they are not just going to trade Contreras and run a guy like Eric Haase out there every day. Unfortunatey Quero got hurt and he isn't the same catcher he was a couple of years ago.
  9. Tobias Myers was as well so at 38.
  10. Most star quarterback last games are not very good. It would be nice to go out with a Super Bowl win but usally they keep on playing if they win it all and they end their career with a playoff loss. I remember Dan Marino ending Joe Montana's career and Dan Marino having one of the worst losses ever a few year later in the playoffs. Just the way it goes.
  11. I like the approach they took with Adames, try to win with him and then get the draft pick, if they have a down year can trade at the deadline. I think the bites at the apple can work but when they traded their ace in Corbin Burnes they took away a bite and we will never know if they could have won it all. With relievers I am much more open to trading due to volatility so won't be complaining if they get a decent return for 32 year old Megill. The Brewers really need an offer they can't refuse with Peralta as there should be no urgency to trade him.
  12. Spin it all you want with hindsight career productivity but Ruiz was highly sought after as evidenced by getting Contreras, the return was great but killed the season.
  13. I liked the rule 5 articles that you did. I think the Player Project Bios are interesting but there are so many players in Brewers history, many unknown by the general fanbase, so I understand why it might get as much traffic. Kind of like the Rule 5 article, maybe can bring up some of these guys by having a topic that can bring up these historical players without making them the main point of the article. Can always do the often done best players at each position in Brewers history but can also do something like good players that you may not know played for the Brewers(Willie Randoph. Dave Parker, Jesse Orosco, Hideo Nomo, Devon White, Ray Fosse etc), players that received MVP votes but never won with the Brewers(Lo Cain, Pat Listach, Don Money, Larry Hisle, Tommy Harper, Richie Sexson etc.) Cy Young (Mike Caldwell, Teddy Higuera, Dan Plesac, Sabathia, Ben Sheets etc.). Just a thought to have a broader appeal while still writing about Brewers history.
  14. Because Ken Rosenthal said so. I do agree, cutting payroll isn't necessary for 2026 and hard disagree from a previous post that money is the deciding factor.
  15. I don't understand Woodruff at #9. Based on their definition of these rankings Michael and Steve believe Woodruff will be integral to bringing a championship to Milwaukee this year. Jason's again seems to make the most sense. Are you guys on the same page of what these rankings mean? Edited to add that Jesus Made at #17 would appear kind of ridiculous, if the Brewers were really trying to win a World Series this year they could trade him to fill that hole to go for it.
  16. I can understand Yelich on the list based on being valuable toward a championship if you think the Brewers can win a championship the next couple of years. Don't see any scenario where Ortiz is key to a championship so would have put N/A for him. Chourio would appear to be an obvious #1 as he will be here the longest into his prime and if he doesn't win a championship will potentially bring the players to win a championship. Based franchise on history though probably everybody is tied for N/A.
  17. I hope the Packers still go all out. While slim, their Super Bowl chances increase if all of their games go through Lambeau and all that would take is a small slip from an NFC West team.
  18. It is unknown, if he spent all of 2026 on the MLB roster he would be 2.136 which would be borderline Super 2. For that reason and having decent starting depth, Gasser spends time in AAA in 2026.
  19. Horrible loss, the only benefit is it saves me from constantly hearing during playoff week that it is difficult to beat the same team three times in the same season.
  20. I would put Graeme Lloyd on the list. Even though the Phillies actually drafted him he was traded to the Brewers the day after the draft so still had the rule 5 restrictions. Pitched nearly 4 years for the Brewers and was the main piece to get Bob Wickman and Gerald WIlliams from the Yankees in 1996. Bob Wickman then became a key reliever for a few years before being traded for Richie Sexson so the Llyod pickup had a positive impact on the Brewers franchise for a decent period of time.
  21. Not completely run down, Hugh Jackman and Charlie Berens visited Kegel's Inn a couple of weeks ago but way down on 59th. The VA is obviously needed but for developmental purposes it is a huge property between AmFam and the businesses south. There has certainly been an increase in business on Miller Parkway since the stadium was built but not exactly destination area for people attending Brewers games. I am kind of surprised a hotel or two never popped up around there.
  22. Ashby's money isn't spent, it is a future commitment that can be passed on to another team. If the Brewers were really trying to shed salary he would be near the top.
  23. Was never a huge fan of Mears so to be able to get age 26-28 of Zerpa in return is a win. I would lean toward Collins never being an overly productive MLB player again so probably selling high on him. However, if the last month and a half was the fluke for Collins and not the other way around then the Royals get a steal.
  24. It's not that complex, Durbin is a 3 WAR players, the Brewers should start 3 WAR players. Even better if they are cheap like Durbin
  25. Bo Bichette isn't getting you a banner unless you want a winning the offseason award banner.
