  1. Unless this injury bothers Frelick all season I find it highly improbable that Frelick stays in Nashville all season. They need him.
  2. Don't have to worry about super 2 anymore with Frelick.
  3. Why even mess around with Claudio, just go with Andrews and add him to the shuttle.
  4. I think we all knew who wrote this as soon as we saw it was a Brent Suter article. Taken seriously, like others have said Suter would not have been in high leverage situations. He very well may have been in the Guerra spot after the game is basically over. If we were to look at a Brewers reliever from last year that might have been higher leverage that player may be Trevor Gott. He pitched in the 7th/8th a lot prior to Bush arriving. It sure looks like they should have kept Gott instead of Bush.
  5. Bush to Nashville and Guerra DFA should happen today.
  6. It will probably be at least a couple of weeks for Frelick since he is on the 7 day IL and then will probably need a few games to get going again. At least Wiemer will get plenty of opportunities as there are no better options in sight.
  7. Yes, if he wants to play. He gets the same either way. He could just retire since he is getting paid the next two years.
  8. Since Arizona is paying his large salary, any team signing him will pay minimum so that isn't an issue.
  9. Nobody wanted to pay Hiura a couple of million to sort out his issues so I agree it is a marriage of convenience. It isn't happening now but if he performs well and get that K% down then somebody will eventually inquire of him. After the trade deadline a bunch of teams will need guys to fill out rosters and Hiura could still be traded.
  10. Obviously the Brewers nor any team will claim him. However, the starting pitching options are not great right now so if Burnes has to miss a couple of starts I wouldn't mind as a fill in. Wouldn't expect much but didn't expect much of Chi Chi Gonzalez or Jason Alexander either but somebody has to pitch.
  11. I'm going to go out on a limb here and say Perkins is demoted before Taylor comes back.
  12. Frelick out with a thumb injury and Perkins out of the lineup. So if bringing up a OF probably Perkins at this point.
  13. Wiemer is a better CF than both. Would certainly take my chances with Frelick over Perkins to be regular starting OF.
  14. Even if it was an expected 10 day stint on the IL would still go with Frelick as whoever comes up will get plenty of playing time. Then can figure out who deserves to stay when Mitchell comes back. Still not hearing anything about Taylor so have to believe no news is bad news in regards to his injury and wouldn't expect his return anytime soon.
  15. There are not many options if the Brewers consider sending Wiemer down, could do Anderson in right again with Brosseau so hot and playing 3B until he cools down. However, still probably results in another rookie like Perkins being called up.
  16. Unfortunately agree with Chourizo, this is a tough business and there is no guarantee of a big contract until signed. Still wishing for the best though and it isn't very serious like initially thought.
  17. Love the reaction of the Padres fans after the second HR from Rowdy.
  18. With the exception of Bush, a heck of a job by the pitching staff. Unlike Junk, Rea will stick around for at least another start after that performance. Loved that Williams got the ninth against the heart of the Padres order in a non save situation and struck them all out. If I was watching this game live would have definitely thought Payamps would give up the lead but he stepped up as well. Edited to add that these recaps are nice to have for these late night games. A really good summary with highlights/reaction.
  19. I doubt there is a huge market for Henry. Probably gets outrighted to the minors.
  20. Shout out to brewers4eric for the inside info yesterday that Rhea would be called up.
  21. Kind of joking but not really, if the Angels falter like usual could use a right handed hitter like Hunter Renfroe. Like every year, hitting left handed pitching will be a problem for the Brewers.
  22. Not a very inspiring choice, didn't pitch too well when we saw him the last weekend of the season a couple of years back. Would be nice if he had some smoke and mirrors for a couple of starts but he has been around long enough where it is probably one and done.
  23. Payamps shouldn't really be pitching in close games anyway, would put him as the last guy in the bullpen.
  24. That's pretty much it, he is productive but overpaid. I think sometimes fans believe overpaid players can't be productive. It doesn't make sense to make him a bench player because there are worse hitters on the team. Doesn't mean he should hit third against lefties and play every single day but we don't have to go to extremes either. It would certainly give the team roster and financial flexibility if they could trade him but probably not reasonable to think that will happen. The Brewers got a nice short term DH in Winker this year but I imagine Yelich will play quite a bit of DH in 2024 enabling Frelick to play plenty of OF at the major league level.
  25. I doubt Taylor is the oddman out but probably still a while away. Didn't have a Spring Training and can't throw.
