  1. That picture was taken in March 2003 so Jordan Walker is a little older than it. Maybe one day Jackson Chourio will be the first major league player born after the get a brain moran picture.
  2. Agree, with the Ashby injury and Small still having issues it really opens the door for Andrews as there is limited left handed options. Gasser is obviously the better prospect but would likely want to keep as starting depth until at least the second half of the season. Claudio is also there but Andrews could be a shuttle guy if added to the 40 while Claudio could not
  3. I would agree with the lack of catchers that can hit that he hasn't received much of a chance. However, during his time in the majors he has been brutal and once you become an out of option non 40 man guy it gets tough. Not looking real great for him to get called up this year either.
  4. Eh, that is two different things the trade and the extension. Wasn't the smartest to extend him after shattering his knee. The Brewers received a MVP player for pretty much nothing.
  5. With Mitchell playing elite defense would rather they kept him in CF and DH Yelich but I understand it is just one game. If they never start Mitchell against lefties it will be disappointing.
  6. He was better than Voit last year but again not sustainable with his k%. Certainly has better future than Voit who is probably toast.
  7. Hiura probably is better than Voit but may be a blessing so he can work on things in the minors. If he improves and works on his k% like others have suggested he will be brought up later this summer. Hiura wasn't going to improve by sitting on the bench all season.
  8. When I went to opening day on a yearly basis I liked the early start but don't really have any interest going now no matter the time. Viewing wise there are day games throughout the year, mostly on getaway day, so don't mind the early game time today. Can avoid spoilers and watch quickly at home.
  9. It helps that WWE is a big corporation now, still have to pay big bucks for AEW. I like it though because paid like $60 for ad free for the year in October and actually enjoy other stuff on Peacock.
  10. I would hope they don't end up playing today but yes Weimer should be able he every day RF, with the occasional day in CF for Mitchell.
  11. So what is the maximum number of players on a AAA roster?
  12. I didn't have a chance to watch any non-live games but will take a look. One thing I did find annoying on my phone are the video highlights are different than year's past. It just gives generic play by play description kind of like when watching a game live. i.e. Jace Peterson flies out to RF Hunter Renfroe.
  13. Topic of who do they call up is one question and the actual poll of should is another question.
  14. I like that Winker trade a lot more if the Brewers don't face many lefties or there is no lefty to come in when he pinch hits.
  15. It better not stay that way beyond tax day, there really isn't a good reason to not call up an OF in a couple of weeks.
  16. I don't really like the bullpen. Was looking forward to Houser stabilizing the bullpen a bit but that will have to wait. Have little to no confidence in WIlson/Payamps/Guerra. A guy like Guerra should have high K numbers but has not been able to strikeout many. I like Varland but he is still a project and hasn't really had success anywhere. Bush has been terrible as a Brewer and getting up there in years. Hopefully Strez doesn't get worn out by being the only reliable guy prior to WIlliams.
  17. I don't see it. Brosseau is still Brosseau, Voit probably won't outproduce Hiura's production from '22 and Miller isn't likely to be a 2 WAR player like Jace. However, it won't be difficult for Mitchell to match what Cain was doing to start the year in '22.
  18. There is the argument that if he received more at bats his numbers would diminish. He received more at bats in the last month of the season than any other month and that was his worst month. Can't ignore his 900 OPS from May-August either but there are plenty who doubt his production last year is sustainable.
  19. Not really news but more of an observation. My family visited Truist Park as part of Spring Break. I went there and thought there might be some interesting Milwaukee Braves items. They had a large team store and there were zero Milwaukee Braves items, huge wall of hats and not a single Milwaukee Braves one. I note this because I sometimes see fans question why we honor the Milwaukee Braves teams when that is not our franchise. However, it sure seems like the Milwaukee Braves franchise and even the players that didn't play for Atlanta would be forgotten if not for the Brewers continuing to recognize those teams and players. To be fair there was a Warren Spahn Statue at one of the entrances.
  20. That is usually the case with T-Mobile Tuesdays but they are giving a full week for this one, need to claim by 4/4, 4:59am ET. I didn't wait but if you see this tomorrow you still have time.
  21. I think he stays, in the minority but don't think anybody claims/trades for him.
  22. I guess Barstool was wrong.
  23. I kind of like it will be two teammates going against each other in the final four, two present and two past. Braun/Fielder and Burnes/Yelich. I would have to imagine the eventual winner will be Braun/Fielder.
  24. I like that there are bona fide major league players in the minors plus a Taylor return if some of the guys in the majors don't produce. Feel kind of bad for Miller but at the very least he will be called up during the eventual IL stints of Yelich/Winker/Voit.
  25. Just like his video of being called up, Turang will have to earn staying in the big leagues. It will be very difficult to stay up all year. The last major Brewers rookie to make the opening day roster was Khris Davis who struggled quite a bit. He was optioned and was a 1.000 OPS player after he was called up again.
