  1. Well, they could always draft him again.
  2. If Brantley keeps walking, the instant a picture of him is in his profile it's going to be my pic. I'm calling it.
  3. Yes, good point. I wasn't trying to be mean or anything, though.
  4. Colbyjack may, but you should have posted this in the draft forum.
  5. He already does if you figure in his AAA stats. I don't think he will have more than Jenkins does at the end of the season, I think Jenkins will likely end at 23 and that Weeks will be around 19 or 20 (31 or 32 with his AAA added).
  6. Since I believe nsimps isn't a "stat head", I'm pretty sure he's trying to goad one of "us" into saying it was the team with the highest OPS that won. Then he's going to "get us" by revealing that the teams finished in inverse order of their OPS'. Just a guess, but I think I'm right.
  7. Eerily similar to Santos on Sunday.
  8. I think Branyan was a scratch and Hall is at 3b Ugh.
  9. My Father-In-law in reasearching his new book First and foremost, that's a great post. Second, what is the book your father-in-law is writing?
  10. I'm not getting the game either, but luckily we have DirecTV as well, so I can watch it on there.
  11. Magruder sees 3.74 P/PA, which is actually more than Clark's 3.51. I'm not saying he should start, though, considering it'd be nice if he could actually hit one of those pitches.
  12. Does that Hardy guy still play for the Brewers?
  13. Magruder's starting, but at least it's against a LHP.
  14. I love OBP, but in this context it just doesn't do much. Put is this way: There are only three HOF OF's with a lower OBP than Jim Rice: Robin Yount (who wasn't a OF for his whole career, obviously), Lou Brock, and Eddie Lindstrom (played from 1924-1936). It just doesn't hack it for me.
  15. he wasn't quite fearsome enough to make up for the deficits in his final counting stats. I don't really think his rate stats are good enough, either. His OBP was only .352, and the most he ever walked in a season was 62 times. To me he just had three really mean seasons, from 1977-79. Also, splitterpfj, it would be a good idea to post a link to the player you are profiling's career stats, like this: Jim Rice career numbers (Baseball-Reference.com) Jim Rice career numbers (Baseball Prospectus)
  16. Would his BABIP (batting average on balls in play) vs. the team be something to look at? Team BABIP: .297 Clark's 2005 BABIP: .329 Clark's 2004 BABIP: .309 Clark's career BABIP entering 2005: .291 EDIT: Added more BABIP numbers
  17. His walk rate was the exact reason why I liked him, now it's becoming a reason why I don't like him. I don't know his IsoOB's off-hand, but they definitely should be posted. In seasons with over 100 AB: 2001: .109 2003: .057 2004: .105 2005: .061 Career: .076 Minor Leagues: .092
  18. I'm with no on this one. He declined quickly, and played in a hitter's park. He really just didn't "dominate" for long enough for my liking.
  19. After last night's game, I think I can handle not having to watch them play.
  20. anyone feeling a game-tying granny from magruder in the 9th?? http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/roll.gif
  21. There, that ends the speculation. Bring on Wandy Rodriguez.
  22. Yep, Kane Davis failed and they lost the game. The season was over before this game. If you wanted to, you could point to any of the 63 losses and say "that was the one" if you wanted to. Every game is the same. All162 count, no matter when you play them.
  23. He did determine it when he allowed Burke to reach and he walked Brad Ausmus. He walked Brad Ausmus. Yeah, that Brad Ausmus.
  24. That's unacceptable, even if Davis was showing some fatigue, he needs to seal the deal himself. What is this? 1960? He was out of gas. I bash Ned as much as anyone, but he made the right move tonight.
