  1. I can imagine his nerves are going to be through the roof considering it is his debut and his family is there for the first time. Here is to hoping the Crew can knock Gray around and let the kid breathe a bit on the mound. Excited to watch.
  2. Can you imagine the responses and reactions from this board if, two weeks ago, we found out a major league team was offering us $100,00+ for Drake? Pro-rioting...
  3. It is extremely satisfying knowing that Matt Albers is your 6th inning guy.
  4. Obviously not ideal but if he has a tweak of anything ... good idea to just miss the one start and use the off days to 'expand' the roster. Woodruff makes a lot of sense for the 12th and I'm kind of hoping they grab another LHB to have on the bench until then. Sogard and Phillips just aren't the best options right now. Just because I like the kid I am secretly hoping it is Choi.
  5. Well we re-signed Paolo Espino today so if Miley doesn't work out we finally have depth now...
  6. That's just not true any more. Yes it is. He should be a starter, they’re using him the best way if they are going to make him a reliever but it’s not maximizing his potential value. I think he was saying it isn't true that your best pitching prospect shouldn't be your middle reliever...
  7. a W is a W and an L is an L ... but if the Cubs escape with another 1 run win in a hard fought game that will be a little defeating. Would mean a lot to get one back after last night..
  8. I'm curious how much of Kris Bryant we will see in this series? Hoping for Wrigley to wake Domingo up!
  9. Does anyone have a list of non-closer relievers who have made an all-star team? What is the precedent? If Hader continues on it will be hard not to send him to the all-star game I would think..
  10. Keep doing you Aguilar. What a steal that dude has been.
  11. Chacin's ERA is under 4 now for the year .. getting there!
  12. You mean welcome back Arcia? Lineup looks good. We lose a little flexibility in going match-ups with Thames out ... but Aguilar certainly has earned any at bat her gets while Eric is out.
  13. Maybe I am bad at interpreting .. but listening to Stearns comments it sounded like they wanted the extra arm for the Cubs series and then things would be re-evaluated?
  14. Nottingham not being overwhelmed in his short stint here was enough for me to move on from Bandy if that is needed. Use Vogt as the backup and, if needed, we have our next in line in Nottingham.
  15. 1.Lorenzo Cain(CF) 2.Christian Yelich(LF) 3.Ryan Braun(DH) 4.Travis Shaw(3B) 5.Domingo Santana(RF) 6.Eric Thames(1B) 7.Manny Pina© 8.Jonathan Villar(2B) 9.Eric Sogard(SS) I was going to joke earlier that I was afraid Counsell was going to use Sogard as his DH today. Hopefully Arcia heals up soon. Also, Domingo needs his at bats to get going but I really believe Aguilar has earned the DH spot for this series. A little disappointed in that.
  16. couple of thoughts from seeing this: 1) it appears Bryant is going to be ok... which is really great 2) agree on the Madden thing. He always comes off as a big grump to me but it was warming to see him act so fatherly here. 3) I hate that it happened but I rewatched this clip about 5 times just to see Bryants helmet do a full rotation on his head 4) even if it was a glancing blow how on earth does he stay on his feet through it all?
  17. One game out of having the best record in the National League.
  18. Was hoping for a Villar/Perez middle today... but I guess Sogard is the best defender of the 3. Happy to see Nottingham get another go. Aguilar has some mojo going... hopefully he can have another big day.
  19. I haven't watched every one of them ... but I don't think I've seen a bad at bat from Aguilar yet this year. I understand our situation with our depth ... but the kid just hits. I'm guessing he gets the start against the lefty tomorrow
  20. Sometimes all it takes is a small piece of anything positive to get someone going. I really hope Santana getting on base and maneuvering his way around might allow him to take a deep breath and start smashing the baseball.
  21. Also, with the righty on the mound today and an afternoon game against a lefty tomorrow.. my guess is we get a pretty similar lineup as last night's successful one (switching out a hobbled Arcia) before tomorrow's 'Sunday' lineup. I think Bandy goes tonight and Nottingham tomorrow. A 2nd day off for Domingo might be ok given his struggles. Sit Braun tomorrow and let Domingo hit against the lefty. Just my thoughts/guess. Cain (CF) Yelich (RF) Braun (LF) Shaw (3B) Thames (1B) Villar (2B) Sogard (SS) Bandy © Suter (P)
  22. Last 4 Brewers starters lines are a combined 23 1/3 IP with 3 ER given up. Let's get another one Suter and call this a rotation
  23. 4-1 The lone loss when all three started was the home opener against the Cardinals. #optimism
  24. Can anyone drum up the Brewers' record when Cain, Yelich, and Braun all start?
