  1. That is a lot of righties, and probably my favorite lineup we have had in awhile. The Pirates should know you don't throw lefties against Milwaukee... 7-4 victory today me thinks. It would be nice for Yo to have a QS here.
  2. Hoping for best news scenario obviously with Tyler .. he was such an asset the first month of the season. Made the whole Henderson debacle easy to absorb. Hope we don't mess with Fiers head at all by throwing him into the pen.
  3. You have to think the Brewers would listen to a contender needing a lefty out of the pen. Smith isn't moving but Gorzo and Duke should be shopped and the Crew holds leverage in that convo. Anyone out there see any contenders with a glaring bullpen/lefty need?
  4. A few more bombs and an all-star bid is in tow .... LUC!
  5. The average that flirts with the Mendoza line... But like I said before, bearable when he's hitting for power. He didn't have a reputation as a good defender, but has been pretty darn good this season. It's a nice little discussion to have. If a guy gets 400 ABs over the course of a year ... the difference between a .200 hitter and a .250 hitter is 20 hits. His career OBP is .326 .. which isn't shocking and considering the BA is actually really good. Are you willing to sacrifice that average for the power he gives you? If you are asking him to bat in the middle of the lineup and get 600 PAs I would argue not. But hitting in the bottom of a lineup? I would actually call him an asset. If his defense historically has been what we are watching now ... I don't understand why a minor league deal was the best he could do ... he seems like a pretty good platoon option almost anywhere.
  6. Hmm.... so the guy who is tied for 3rd in the NL in Home Runs is going to be our 8 hitter starting Wednesday... cool.
  7. A perfect game no less...A PERFECT GAME!!! *high five* .. the Brewers owe us now. Also, that single makes Segura 6-33 this season after he has gotten the count to 2-1 against him. Someone should talk to him about that.
  8. I want the world to know that Gibson is throwing a no-hitter right now.
  9. I don't disagree Gomez should start... I should have qualified that better. I thought Gomez was going to be an MVP candidate again this year, he should be an all star the next few seasons. With Lucroy and Lohse it is a bit more murky, so I really hope they get the call this year, as their opportunities may be more limited. When I said who "should be all stars" .. That is more what I meant.
  10. Curious if the Brewers just took Samardzija's spot yesterday with that game. Hard to keep him off the team when he is leading the league in ERA... But if he spills out of the top 10 with a 1-5 record? What other Cub could take his spot? Any?
  11. I think the 2 Brewers most deserving of an All Star bid this year are Lucroy and Lohse. Braun and Gomez will both make it. Frankie has a chance I think.... But I will be hurt of those first two don't get there this year.
  12. As long as Scooter remains competent at the plate and off of the DL... There is little chance Rickie gets to 400 PAs.
  13. Series win! That is all you can ask for each series is to get the win. We have done that more often than not this year. Lohse should get heavy consideration to be an all-star this year.
  14. Burba is impressive. Memorial Day the two best I saw at the game were Graffanino and Gerut.
  15. For the sake of conversation, if Nelson ends up with 2 starts and straight DEALS, do we have a dilemma on our hands? Is there anyway he forces his way into the rotation at this point?
  16. Was also thinking there was a good chance this would be the move. But if Nelson is optioned right after the start they could possibly activate Henderson, so the bullpen would only be short for a day, though Henderson for Wooten seems like a poor exchange for bullpen strength at the moment. Gorzellany?
  17. I was at the TRats game when McFarland was hurt. He was is a straight backpedal and he and Arcia were both calling for it, last second Arcia dove out of the way but clipped Chris, who flipped over the back of him. At first I thought it was a head injury, looked like he whipped into the ground pretty good, but obviously he was rolled up. He stayed down for about 90 seconds but walked off on his own power, albeit with a noticeable limp.
  18. I assume when Gorzo comes back that one of the 4 named in the thread title will be gone and my guess is obviously Herrera. I also am on board with a Taylor Green call up, he actually eliminates the need for both Overbay AND Herrera. The roster flexibility improves 3 fold with a Green for Overbay and Herrera move. Some poster just said it a minute ago but I agree with the sentiment that Green (or Morris for that matter) can't be worse that Overbay and when it gets down to it ... the race this October could likely going to be a game or two. A marginal improvement at our left handed first base position could very well be the difference in the post season for us. This move should be made as soon as April ends.
  19. Looks like Roenicke finally found the best offensive lineup we have to offer finally. Crazy.
  20. Wow wow wow. Lucroy just delivered the at bat of the season. It's early, but if the Brewers get into the Cubs bullpen by the 7th and win via that route ... look back to that Lucroy at bat. Crazy..
  21. If you would have told me this was our lineup for a mid May game before the season started.. I would have told you we were 14 games under and in early sell mode. Baseball is funny.
