  1. Unacceptable? Guys, if the season ended right now this team is in the playoffs! Right now! Note isn't the time to boycott Milwaukee.. Now is when they need the fan support. Write to Attanasio?! Who are you? Go buy a brat, remember this is a game and realize the Brewers have had a pretty improbable season. Let's bring it home. Write to Attanasio about your disappointment? Some people and their kids...

  4. I realize this isn't the correct thinking in whether to pull the trigger on a trade or not ... but if Broxton is a contributing reason as to why we make the playoffs and get a full playoff series ... a large portion of that salary will be recouped in said series for the team.
  5. Blue font? I don't think Prince makes half of the plays that Reynolds has made this year...
  6. Why won't people play my game?!? You are telling me if Fiers has 7 more starts on the season and throws 52 innings with 67 k's, 6 bb's, with a .84 era and goes 7-0 ... He wouldn't be in our playoff rotation? Where is the line? That is all I'm asking... I'm not saying he is better than anyone - simply asking, based off this ridiculous start, how much more convincing will be needed before he becomes one of our guys?
  7. No. Garza had a 2.88 ERA in June, 2.53 in July, and 6 scoreless innings to start August. He's been our best pitcher since May ended. Dang, I wish I had started my original post with "For argument's sake". Lohse then.
  8. For arguments sake, if the playoffs started tomorrow and we have a healthy Garza... Does Fiers take his rotation spot? If not, how many more exceptional starts before we give Mike Fiers playoff starts? 2 more exceptional starts in a row? 4?
  9. I don't know if this is premature, but Wily is gunning for #15 tonight. I glanced at the schedule... If the schedule and rotation holds (iffy) Wilys remaining slate looks like: @Cubs @Dodgers Pittsburgh @San Francisco St Louis Marlins Reds @Pirates Cubs If I can be generous and give him wins against the Cubs tonight and the final series.. He would need 4 wins in 7 starts beyond that. Some tough clubs to fight through though. Without looking, I am fairly certain we haven't had a 20 game winner since Higuera. Can Wily get it done? Probably needs to get the "easy" one tonight to have a chance. Thoughts?
  10. Apparently our last game against David drove the asking price down quite a bit... Goodness.
  11. I don't expect Price to come to Milwaukee. I expect him to go to St. Louis. This is Doug Melvin forcing the Cardinals to pony up a kings random for him now that the Brewers are "involved". In my opinion..
  12. The thought of not adding a quality bench bat bothers me. Having Logan Shafer come up down 1 run in the 9th w/ Lucroy on first and no one out only to strike out bunting again down the stretch will be the end of me. Our current bench is batting .276 (EH), .262 (RW), .243 (MM), .234 (LO), .188 (LS). That isn't going to cut it come crunch time. We need another stick. I'm not advocating trading for Evan Longoria... but for God's sake there has to be someone who can give you quality at bats when you need him to.
  13. MLB.TV might be worth a look. You'll be able to watch every game online. I don't think it should cost you more than $100?
  14. They'll need to add about 8 pieces. To the offense...
  15. Obviously there are 30 things I could write here that could/would be true. I'm looking for maybe the top 2 or 3 that you all have in mind. Make them as vague or specific as you need to. What has to happen for the Brewers to hold off the 3 headed monster behind us? For me... 1) Improvement offensively from Jean Segura. Please take all the time you need Jean, your family obviously is first. But if Jean can spin things around and start producing offensively I think it will go a long way in stabilizing the ups and downs we experienced, and balance us, offensively. 2) One starter to go "ace mode" on us. I'm looking at you Matt Garza. We had early season runs with Lohse and Peralta ... I think if one guy can step up and dominate in August and September the other 4 will be able to hold at .500 and a .560ish winning percentage the rest of the way should do the trick. 3) Healthy September. This goes without saying, but our September schedule is basically the NL Central. If we can win series in September ... we will be in good/great position.
  16. So needed. What a terrible end to the first half ... but this is a deep breath as we try to to regroup for the late summer kick. Even with the absurdity of the last 14 days ... we are going to possibly enter the all-star break with the best record in the National League. Crazy. Should be a really fun second half.
  17. Finally! Someone understands just how good the Brewers are and what is happening in the division. Thank God... I've been thinking WS since June. I'm loving this season! All the way since June? So... like last week?
  18. Yep. A great find from the Brewers' perspective as well ... getting solid innings out of him and with Gorzo/Smith, possibly a sell high piece if some team is desperate at the deadline for a lefty.
  19. Be patient and swing at strikes fellas. Garza .. QS please? Let's get 'em!
  20. Let's not forget Melvin. He picked up Frankie last year on a throwaway contract and dealt him for Nick Delmonico... then a few months later brings him back and the guy leads the league in saves. That is some sneaky genius GMing...
  21. I don't want it to happen because A) We are in first and can't afford suspensions B) I don't want our bullpen to pitch 9 innings today ... but a part of me really wants Garza to drill someone with his first pitch simply to see Gibson's reaction. Now, IF it does happen. I hope Gibson bolts out of the dugout and makes a beeline for Braun only to get intercepted by Gomez. Secondary scenario, I want Braun's first at bat to be a HR and for Braun to do the Gibson fist pump all the way around the bases..
  22. 30% of me wanted to see Seth McClung inserted as the starting pitcher.
