    It wouldn't be the biggest surprise to me if the Brewers sent down Sproat to consolidate some of his innings and give him a few turns through the AAA rotation to tinker with some things. Wilson/Hall could get us through a game until Harrison is ready to come back and that would preserve Wilson on the roster for a few more weeks to safeguard against the next inevitable injury.

    It seems at least one of Wilken/Adams might have to be somewhere else soon unless the Brewers move either of Burke/Fischer at the deadline. Both Burke and Fischer are probably ready to bump to Nashville whenever they are asked to. Frankly I would love to see Boeve go up with them. So between Adams, Wilken, Burke, Fischer, Williams*, Boeve* ... that's a lot of corner infield types that are qualified to be in Nashville and only so many corner infield positions are available.

    I saw Wilson was getting chirped in the IGT last night but he is so much more valuable to us than a one inning guy like Kuhnel or a guy trying to find it again like Koenig.

    I could just be a silver lining dufus like I always am... But I think this was a great opportunity to steal a month of rest for Harrison during the lightest part of the remaining schedule and the Brewers took it. Make sure we have him for the finish.

    I'm with you there. I do think it will be a seller's market and everyone will cost more and I'm not terribly interested in giving up a bunch for a back of rotation guy when you can get the Bryse Wilson/McCullers types for 'free' to eat innings for you. I'm just saying if we are going to make a deal for a guy to get us through the season.. Peralta checks just about every box of someone we would be looking for. I am with you on the "pending cost" part.

    I've already come to terms with Freddy going to Chicago. On a separate poetic note - not that Mets fans don't have enough to go crazy over this year - but if we go back to back games where Freddy gets shelled and then Sproat throws a gem... It will be loud over there.

    Maybe I am the one misunderstanding - why are we assuming he is taking up a 40man spot? He isn't getting a MLB contract for next season..

    Forget the name. If I told you there was a starting pitcher out there who over the last 5 seasons was a 15 WAR pitcher and last year was a Top 5 Cy Young guy, is just 30 years old, but has fallen on hard times this year for a bunch of reasons we don't know BUT has a ton of familiarity with our starting catcher and a history with our pitching coach where he had prior success and the price tag isn't assumed to be wild... Why wouldn't he be a target?

    They are definitely not the only two guys who have been slumping as of late, but the two of them going 5 for July thus far is probably not coincidental with the offense being sluggish.

    He sees/knows something that we will want to see/know. He also apparently changed his profile picture to one of him in a Brewers' uniform, according to the Twitter sleuths. Whether that means something or not ..

    I know this isn't how baseball works, but I hope Stearns gives us the last right of refusal if it is the Cubs or Cardinals that Peralta is going to. If the Cubs make the best offer than so be it ... but I hope Stearns has enough respect for us that he would come back to say "this is what it is, I'll let you decide if you want to beat it or not".

    I kind of want the Cardinals to stay in this and make a move or two. They are so far ahead of their rebuild schedule.. would like them to get rid of a few young prospects rather than add to the supply.

    It does feel like down 2-0 after three innings has been the routine. You could probably parlay the Brewers opponent to have the lead after the first third and the Brewers moneyline into some financial Independence these days..

    My observation through the years is that there are a decent portion of regular posters on these boards who stay away from the IGT because the live game threads are not a good forum for in depth discussion. It's more of a shouting into the void situation. The folks looking for non surface level discussion tend to be the level headed variety so removing them from the pool of posters leaves the IGT largely in the hands of the emotional folks... for better or for worse, respectfully.
