Is there an official or unofficial number we are looking for to declare someone 3TO? If there isn't can we create one? Is it just 50% we are looking for? Re: Sanchez above.. looks like in 104 PA he has 19 BB (18.3%), 5 HR (4.8%) and 22 SO (21.1%) so his 44.2% 3TO does not meet my fabricated criteria above. *editing this to acknowledge you would need a minimum of each to qualify because Garrett Mitchell technically with his 15.8% BB, 37.9% K, and 1% HR number would break my fictitious 50% number and therefore qualify as a 3TO player this season without the power* -
Very true and a fun side game to monitor. He must be stressing though, because his pieces got a little more permanent with Chourio and Vaughn coming back. Bringing up Baddoo could buy him another week and then Yeli hasn't played with Vaughn and Chourio really so you can tinker with that for a bit. We would have to call up Jett to get us to the trade deadline and then get in some new blood to make it to end of season call ups. It won't be easy to run the table but I believe in him. He isn't manager of the year for no reason.

If they want a bullpen arm today already it is probably Yoho? McGee was optioned on the 3rd so he should be available tomorrow though if desired.

I don't disagree re: brick wall. Best case scenario for me is we bring him up soon and he fills the Lockridge role and offers another RH bat off the bench for a month... he plays well and then sometime in late June/early July we can send him along with a low level ticket to some team that is already out of it for a bullpen arm or something.

I think so, yes. He would need exposure to waivers if sent back down. My whole deal with him is if not now, when? He isn't going to be a long term option for us, so his opportunity to help the big league club is now. Otherwise we are saying he is a "break glass in case of emergency" guy for us... which is fine if true but I feel we can utilize the asset better? If he comes up and shows well, he has created a small trade value that could be capitalized upon if we need to send him back down. If he comes up and doesn't show well, he either clears waivers ala Greg Jones/Luis Matos or we lose him to a waiver claim - in which case he wasn't going to get another call up in that instance anyway and we will need a spot or two available for promotions to AAA as it is. The only reason to hold him full season without an early season opportunity is in case we suffer multiple injuries late in the year ... but by then both Jett and Pratt will be the next in line for a RH hitting infield/outfield option to be brought up. He is hitting well and we could use another RH bat ... we haven't hit LHP well at all this year. I feel like he can help and his opportunity to help is now IMHO.

Just left the TRats game. Highlight was a couple of decent hot dogs. Lowlight was the TRats game.

4 years but actually 1 year. Again, I'm not excusing the flaws but, because of the injuries, Mitchell just has had a different workload from his peers. He has just over 500 career at bats in the major leagues right now. For reference, Brice Turang had just under 600 last year alone. His time with Milwaukee might be up if he doesn't figure it out soon... But to me he is a perfect candidate to toil around for awhile until he reaches 1200-1500 professional at bats or so and suddenly turn in a 3 year run of being an .800+ OPS player. We need more production from his spot in the lineup. But I also am not on the "he is what he is" bandwagon with him considering his path thus far.

Just a random stat that semi shocked me: The Brewers have 3 guys (I'm not including Vaughn and his 6 at bats so far) who have an OPS above .700 against LHP pitching this year. That's it. 2 of those guys are Garrett Mitchell and Blake Perkins. Vaughn backs helps. Chourio back helps. Contreras will get there I'm sure. So we will be ok as long as we stay healthy but gracious..

I won't speak on the Marlins but the Rays are typically run so well ... Montreal would eat that up. Having a good team there would be awesome.

I've said this in a few threads but the forgotten man out there right now is Akil Baddoo and I think he will have a chapter written on this season before it's all said and done. I don't know if it will be a positive or negative impact but I think he will be called on soon enough once he is back.

I wonder how tempting it will be to put Chourio in center and have Bauers play left to keep his bat in the lineup against RHP.
