I don't disagree with this and it is the product of upwards pressure coming from a great system as well as establishment on top. I think(?) one of the unique nuances of developing a minor league system well that doesn't get talked about enough (not that I can speak to it at all - I'm hypothesizing) is creating trade capital from non-trade capital sources. If the Brewers can turn Will Childers into a tradeable asset, if they can 'day trade' Tyler Black's hypothetical good May/June stretch, if they can graduate Brian Fitzpatrick into a major league contributor which makes someone like DL Hall or Jared Koenig expendable, etc - you are creating excess system value that can be harvested. The Brewers haven't been perfect by any means but we just haven't traded a lot of prospects that we have regretted in recent memory and I think that speaks to both the return being optimal but also that maybe we have maximized abilities here that show well on the trade block.

Brewers' 10th rd pick in '22 out of Rutgers. Big Ten product! The Brewers have grown and are grooming some decent bullpen arms in Nashville right now. Childers is also putting himself into the call up conversation. The wheels keep turning.. Hoping for the best for Fitz! -
I'm joking/not joking but having Black's plate discipline/contact ability on the bench JUST to pinch hit for Ortiz for the remaining 45 bases loaded at bats he will get yet this year is probably worth +25 runs to us and worth the roster spot. Blue?

I know this will shock everyone but up here in Appleton the weather is unfavorable again. I was planning on going to the game but it is currently raining and 40+ degrees. I haven't seen a delay announcement yet but wouldn't be surprised.

I heard the broadcast say last night the Rodriguez is the only LHP on the entire AZ roster... a little unique configuration. Although I wouldn't be surprised with a Hoffman IL stint announcement today and a lefty being brought up for the interim.

We will see if we needed to score there later on ... but if nothing else we put 2 innings of pitches on his arm. I would almost tell the bottom 3rd of the order next inning not to think about swinging until 2 strikes?

IMHO Jett has the keys to this conversation. I would be a little surprised if they brought Pratt up anywhere near the big leagues until he settles in at AAA. Jett only needs a few good weeks of offensive production to be ready. When Chourio comes back we won't be doing as much of the matchup stuff with opposing pitchers in the outfield ... so Chourio will replace Jones in all likelihood and then given Jett's ability to be in the grass he could replace Perkins and we wouldn't be losing the outfield depth. So as we currently sit I think Jett is the only one who will bump Ortiz from regular at bats in the short/medium term?
