  1. A couple of interesting nuances that have been asked on Twitter and I thought were good discussion points. Regarding overturned calls, if it is a 3-1 count with a runner on 1st and the runner takes off for second and the pitch is called a strike and the runner is thrown out and then the better challenges and wins the challenge... The runner gets second base, correct? Additionally, if it is a 2-2 count and the runner takes off from first and the pitch is called a strike... If the catcher thinks it is borderline he should still throw down to 2nd, correct? Because if the play is challenged and overturned.. doesn't the runner get second base with no play made otherwise?
  2. Would you say Cooper Pratt is a finished product offensively?
  3. Matos would be a guy maybe who is toolsy who has never put it together. Mitchell has just never been healthy. I think there is a difference. BRef has him at 3.6 career WAR in ~400 career at bats. He has yet to play a full season of games in his career. Giving up on him now would be a Red Sox thing to do. At worst he is a great defensive outfielder with some power and speed. Great 4th outfielder to have.
  4. Amongst the hoopla of looking at who WAS on the rosters I didn't consider who is starting the year off of them. Let's just soon add Thompson to our hand up here. No complaints.
  5. I know it had been rumored but I'm still surprised Fischer and Pena are starting in Appleton. This lineup is as nice as we've had here in a while. Pena, Fischer, Bitonti, Adamczewski, Dinges, Payne, etc Pleased Meccage is here as well. Dorchies, Galindez, Baez, Dickinson, Ragsdale ... I'm not sure we could have asked for more to start up here in the Fox Valley.
  6. Oh nice, I didn't know that.
  7. At this rate we might be able to get Durbin back from the Sox for cash at the all star break. It's early... but they are never trading with us again.
  8. Wonder if Matos makes it to the park in time to start against the lefty..
  9. I'm not sure what just happened... Murph just got worked by Cash somehow.
  10. Mike Bordick is a crazy pull. Well done.
  11. ?? Go search the Brewers offensive stats so far this year and filter by OBP and then SB. He is going to be an asset.
  12. Somehow I think this is Ashby's 5th appearance of the season thus far..
  13. Just the tip of the cap to those two at the bottom of the order. 19 total pitches between the two of them.
  14. Not a big deal either way but I assumed so with the dialogue. Give them a chance!
  15. Is this the first time you are seeing them throw by chance?
  16. MLB Day Trading. Trade cash for player. Let him in on team's secrets. Player gets a month of at bats and shines (The Andrew Vaughn affect) while OG starter heals. Trade player when OG starter returns for Cash x4 or equal asset. Win Executive of the Year for the 3rd year in a row.
  17. It was a gentle intro to the season for sure. I'll take this over the Yankees series from now on please.
  18. Like most this move definitely shocked me. BUT he did have a good offensive season in Single A and then struggled offensively (as a 20yo) in the Southern League where bats often go to die. He is a full 5 years younger than average in AAA this year. If he has a good offensive season and had the Brewers approached him this next offseason did they just save themselves $40/$50 mil by betting on their scouts? That's the gamble. I have to trust them until they are proven wrong. Now let's get Ortiz trade value up :)
  19. I was just going to say this. Chourio signed his contract in December in the off season and you assumed he was a Major Leaguer immediately. We are now paying Pratt and *knocks on wood* if there is a work stoppage we might not see him in Milwaukee until 2028.
  20. We are about to find out how mentally strong Turang and Ortiz are..
  21. Interesting tidbit, it seems Matos lost his roster spot to Jared Oliva to start the year ... Oliva played with us in Nashville in '25. Really interesting flyer. Top prospect not long ago. I would not be mad at all if Chourio and Contreras, etc unlocked the potential for us. No cost. I'm here for it. I'm expecting Andrew Vaughn 2.0.
  22. '72 Dolphins put that champagne away. We are still in this thing.
