  1. Maybe Jacob’s had postnatal depression.
  2. USAA in Phoenix is always hiring for actuaries. Like every 2-4 months they post a new hiring ad for entry level and senior actuaries.
  3. Pirates lose and their season is all but over. They had to sweep the Cubs to have had a chance at the playoffs. If it weren’t for the Cubs the Pirates would be the biggest chokers in the NL.
  4. I have had the exact opposite experience. Extremely detailed step by step instructions and the calculations are still off. Usually I have to correct it with a follow up. It tends to reverse some calculations or not follow the instructions at all. I have had it where it will hallucinate calculations in the simplest and well defined formulas. It usually flips one or two of the calculations or doesn’t calculate it correctly at all. Anything it has to follow PEMDAS it will sometimes not follow that order precisely.
  5. I’m lazy so I hate charcoal and Hank Hill would be very disappointed in you all for not using propane!
  6. The LLM’s don’t do stocks all that well and I believe they are limited on purpose on what they can help you with. It would be better to use them to find financial information through articles and postings of financial statements. Also the LLM’s hallucinate a lot when doing calculations. They hallucinate a lot when doing anything complex in terms of calculations.
  7. Sure if you go all out in NIL money you could turn it around quickly.
  8. It’s an extremely long shot for the Pirates but I have seen weirder things happen. The Pirates are one team I don’t want to see the Brewers play in the playoffs. I also don’t want to see the Padres either.
  9. Cubs remaining schedule 3 vs Pirates, 3 vs Braves, 3 @ Reds, 3 vs Marlins and then finishing 3 @ Red Sox. The Reds and Marlins series probably the easiest of the 15 remaining. If the Pirates can some how sweep the Cubs that puts them back into the playoff discussion. Its possible the Cubs completely miss the playoffs with that remaining schedule. The only positive the Cubs have is that the Dbacks and Padres play each other which helps the Cubs as only one of them can win. The Pirates though if they can sweep the Cubs only have 3 vs the Brewers and then they play 3 vs Royals, 3 vs Cardinals and then 3 @ Tigers. The Pirates have an easy schedule after the Cubs and Brewers series. They would have to at least win the series against the Cubs and then win the series against the Brewers. Then go 7-2 to finish the season. A sweep of the Cubs and they gain 3 games on the Cubs. The Padres also have an easy schedule left with 3 @ Giants, 4 @ Rockies, 3 vs Marlins, 3 @ Dodgers and then 3 vs Dbacks. Other than the Dodgers and Dbacks that is a fairly easy schedule for the Padres. The Dbacks also have a little bit more difficult schedule than the Padres but not by much. I only say this as they have a the Rangers and Marlins who are still decent teams. Dbacks have 3 vs Rangers, 3 vs Marlins, 3 vs Yankees, 3 @ Rockies and then finish 3 @ Padres. The final two wild cards could come down to the last week of the season. The Pirates have to take care of business this weekend against the Cubs to have a chance. It is still more likely that the Cubs make the playoffs but there is a small chance they don't and it could be the Dbacks or the Pirates with the final wild card spot.
  10. The Rays with only 80 wins predicted is probably more egregious.
  11. I would really like to see NCAAFB bring in a new division. D1 would be your bowl eligible non NIL and limited transfers within the league. Then a new league created for CFB playoffs consisting of 50-100 teams. This is where players will be able to transfer at will and earn NIL money. Once a player transfers from a CFB team to a non CFB league they have to stay there until their senior season. Teams can move in and out of each league once every four years. Once a team moved they have to stay in that league for four seasons. If a team goes from CFB playoffs to non CFB playoffs any players that remain with the team will still get NIL money. I think this would give the best of both worlds. People who don’t want to see a NFL minor league can skip out on that and watch the bowl division. For the ones who want to watch a more competitive league they can watch that.
  12. The company I work for is having an employee week next week and the guest speaker for my area is Mark Grace. I want to ask him his thoughts on why the Cubs suck and why they choke so much.
  13. Did Counsell say "I have no one in the bullpen I can trust" after Chourio's home run?
  14. If this was the NFL you would be correct. This isn’t the NFL where you can turn things around after one or two drafts and some FA signings. I think he has this season to prove what he has done in the recruiting part has worked or not. I think they give him another year rather than buying him out. They will instead use that money on NIL. So the earliest I see the team firing Fickell is at some point next year if things are still not looking promising. Leonhard probably lucked out on not getting the Badgers HC job. Far better for him career wise to be a d-coordinator in the NFL than a HC in college. I don’t believe it would have gone any better with him as the HC over Fickell.
  15. Indiana is an easy one they spent more in NIL. Indiana has also been out recruiting the Badgers since the final three years of the PC times. Recruiting or the lack there of was a problem for PC. Fickell improved the recruiting nationally just none have really worked out or haven’t seen the field yet. The QB cupboard was absolutely bare after PC refused to do any recruiting for a QB after getting Mertz. That is also I believe the year when PC completely gave up on recruiting and he decided he had enough of that. Unfortunately that is one of the most important part of being a HC in college football. The Badgers were heading to the 4 or 5 win team for a long time before Fickell arrived.
  16. No pass rush in the second half is killing the defense.
  17. Is PC coaching for the Badgers again?
  18. How was that not targeting? He lead with the crown of the helmet.
  19. Even the ball pitches he swung at were not bad pitches to swing at. The first one was just above the strike zone fastball which we have seen many MLB players hit and it is usually for an extra base hit. I didn't see a single swing in that AB that was anything to say it was poor.
  20. Not sure what was wrong with Contreras at bat there. He had a few pitches to hit and the final one he just missed it.
  21. Reminds me of the early 2000's Brewers. Man could they hit home runs with Prince, Rickie, Braun, Sexson, Burnitz, Jenkins, Hart, Cameron, Lee and Hardy. Probably missed a few but I think I got all of them. Then you had no named pitchers and cast offs other than Sheets, Gallardo and briefly with Sabathia. The Brewers had one magical year with Greinke, Gallardo and Marcum where it was a decent rotation. Actually the Cubs remind me of the 2011 Brewers. Though I think Greinke, Gallardo and Marcum was a slightly better rotation than what the Cubs have right now. The Cubs have the advantage on offense I think but not sure by how much.
