  1. If CC is going anywhere I think it will be to Toronto so much talent on that team and they consistently under perform. If there is a team that would be a WS contender and is similar to the Brewers it is Toronto. I don’t believe CC will go to NY.
  2. I am predicting bad Peralta shows up today and gives up 4 runs in the first and then 3 more in the third before getting removed and the series is over. Brewers score 5 runs but lose 12-5.
  3. This is all on Burnes. If you are an ace pitcher the three early runs is enough for you to win in the playoffs if you are not an ace then it is not enough. A 3-run lead didn't even last a whole inning and Burnes blew it that was the game in the 3rd inning it was over because Burnes couldn't keep an early 3-run lead everything after that is just noise. This loss is 100% on Burnes you can't be giving up 4 runs in 4 innings as an ace. The series is more than likely over as tomorrow is going to be a low scoring game if the Brewers are not able to jump out ahead early it is over. This was a bad team to be playing against as they match up better than the Marlins or even the Phillies do with the Brewers.
  4. For an ace 3-runs should be more than enough Burnes is not pitching like an ace today or this season. He is pitching more like a #3. Definitely don’t want the Brewers to extend Burnes beyond his last arb year. He looks to be someone who is going to regress a lot as he gets older. Whoever signs him to a long term contract will be regretting it after year 2 or 3.
  5. Bad Burnes showed up today. Maybe he will cry about this in his next arbitration meeting.
  6. Ouch under 20k people at the Rays game today lowest since 1919.
  7. What I find weird is that the Brewers paid for the majority or all of their spring training facilities improvements. This would be a lot more than what they paid for those improvements but still the team should be paying for the majority but they won’t.
  8. Giannis will not be signing a contract extension this year and don’t expect a discount. The Bucks will have to offer him a second super max deal next summer in order to sign him. So cap wise the Bucks are not going to improve between now and next summer. How well the Bucks play will determine if Giannis stays or goes. If the team is not competitive he won’t resign with the Bucks.
  9. CC won’t win because you have Ross, Bell and Schumaker who all out performed the writers expectations for their team’s records. It is as simple as that. The Brewers would have had to win 100+ games for CC to win the MOY. It is dumb but that is how the writers look at this award. I don’t even expect CC to be the runner up. All 3 that were named will be ahead of CC because of the expectations for the teams they managed. You can even add Lovullo to the list but I think he gets knocked down due to winning it in 2017. I would give CC about a 5% chance of winning this award.
  10. No thanks he was rather cancerous with the Celtics in the playoffs. The Celtics were also shopping him since they were eliminated. Buyer be ware with Brogdon.
  11. Brogdon will be traded by Portland at some point. Portland already have a bunch of guards on their roster. Not sure on value for Brogdon but probably a first that is top 15 protected or a 2nd round pick. His value is somewhere between that.
  12. The Cubs don’t own a tiebreaker against anyone. So they are eliminated.
  13. It doesn’t matter this game means about as much as a spring training game does for the Brewers. He could pitch all 9 innings it doesn’t matter.
  14. You can say whatever you want about coach Prime but his team doesn’t give up. Rather impressive so far.
  15. That 2021 team was more of mirage than it was real. A lot of wins that were 1-run games. They went 31-17 in 1-run games in 2021. It was a bit of luck and a few players having career years. For as much devil magic the Cardinals have the Giants seem to have just as much.
  16. But like two weeks ago this was supposed to be the Brewers. I was told the Brewers would be eliminated with the Cubs running away with the division.
  17. It is on the MLB site under standings: https://www.mlb.com/news/2023-mlb-postseason-tiebreaker-scenarios
  18. I don’t think he wins. I think Dave Roberts is going to win it because Dodgers.
  19. I really thought it was going to be Miami or bust for Lillard, I am happy to be wrong on that. Sucks to lose Jrue though he was the piece that was missing for the first championship but his offense has lapsed a lot. He is still a great defender at the point but offensively he hasn't been all that good for like three seasons now.
  20. I firmly believe that the Brewers will have to bring back Burnes, Woodruff and Adames in order to get CC to comeback for one more year. If they don’t bring them back I don’t see CC coming back. I am starting to believe the Brewers are going to do this and will just roll the draft pick dice. It may not be the best strategy but I think this is what the Brewers are going to do.
  21. There was some discussion at the time that Potawatomi would be connected with the stadium. I believe Potawatomi wanted to buy part of the land near the stadium to have another casino and hotel. It has been awhile so going off of memory but it was shot down because of the I don’t want gambling near my sports type of crowd. Today I don’t think that would be a problem but it was then if I am remembering everything correctly that is.
  22. This is incorrect. FA compensation depends on a few different things but for the Brewers it would be after the comp A selection if the player signs for more than $50mm. If less than $50mm it would be after comp B. https://www.mlb.com/glossary/transactions/qualifying-offer Burnes and Woodruff should be after comp A and Adames should also but that will depend on how well he plays in ‘24. In the ‘25 draft the Brewers will have a comp A pick plus one to three FA comp picks. Also if Chourio wins the NL ROY next year that would possibly be 4 picks in that range in the ‘25 draft.
