  1. That was definitely a bad hop. The ball was looking like it was going to be down and then hopped up and hit him in the chest. If that isn't a bad hop then I don't know what would qualify as such.
  2. Not much you can do in that situation. The ball looked to be going down and then hopped up on him. That shouldn't have been an error. He did everything right in that situation.
  3. It is not wise to allow Houser to go through the lineup more than two times.
  4. How is ‘83 41 years ago? 2023-1983 = 40.
  5. College football and basketball has been a money first education fifth type of programs for about 30 years now. You are not putting that genie back in the bottle. I have no problem with the players being paid as I believe they should be and always should have been paid. They are providing a service in the form of entertainment. If the tickets were free and there were no TV rights then sure the players shouldn't get paid then. I think that is the only way you could go back to where players don't get paid. I believe you would also need to shorten the season and limit travel also so the players are able to focus on school as much as they are required to focus on the sport. The players have been treated like employees by the universities for some time now. It is only fair that they get paid like employees also.
  6. So just another conspiracy theory got it.
  7. Can you prove that Stearns has already agreed to take the job and no your wild conspiracies don't count.
  8. If Cashman is let go I think Stearns ends up with the Yankees and not the Mets. The Mets may be Stearns childhood favorite team but the Yankees are a bigger name than the Mets. If the Yankees came calling it is going to be the Yankees who get Stearns and not the Mets regardless of who Stearns is a fan of and no matter how much money is thrown at him.
  9. Yelich for comeback player of the year in the NL?
  10. The only thing he got right was the Candelario but it wasn't an overpay as the Brewers offered the same value to the Nationals in Adams and Lara who are very similar prospects to what the Cubs gave up. I was told by a Nationals insider the Brewers offer was close to being accepted but they liked the Cubs prospects more. This wasn't a Quintana situation where the Cubs went fully overboard and overpaid. I believe it is and I believe they posted this around the same times there were rumors of the Brewers talking with Adames about an extension. From what I was told neither side got very far other than exchanging that each party was interested in an extension. That is as far as an extension for Adames got. This is from a friend of Adames agent so take it with a really small grain of salt.
  11. 2021 Brewers 66-45 2018 Brewers 65-51 2011 Brewers 65-50 2008 Brewers 64-51 1992 Brewers 58-49 1983 Brewers 61-46 I think there maybe one more I didn't check the other 80's teams. Though there is a really long stretch of very bad from '93-'06. I never want to go back to 90's and early 00's Brewers baseball. That '92 team was basically the last year of a good team in Milwaukee for almost 20-years.
  12. Maybe he comes out for the 8th but at 94 pitches to end the 7th so the 8th would have been it. I doubt he would of gotten through the 8th on anything less than 110 pitches.
  13. You have to wake them up and then put them to bed next half inning. Sorry dem r da rules!!!
  14. Repeat after me I before E except after……. This way you will never spell Wiemer incorrectly ever again.
  15. This is probably going to be a bad Peralta game. Slider looks horrible and if he continues to leave it over the plate this is going to be worse than Rea’s last start.
  16. Probably an unpopular opinion but I would like to see Contreras get a game or two off also.
  17. Both were due a day off. I am hoping Wiemer starts to platoon more in CF. Unfortunately his perfect platoon partner is currently injured in Mitchell. I think next year we will see Wiemer and Mitchell platooning a bit more in CF.
  18. I think some are thinking to far ahead and over complicating a situation. If you are tied going into the 9th inning at home you will want your closer to be in the game. You want to keep the score tied. To me this is a save situation and you want your best reliever in the game at that time. If the other team scores then the 10th inning isn't guaranteed. You want to keep the chances the other team can score to be as low as possible. That means bringing in your best reliever for that moment. If it is the bottom half of the order sure save your best reliever if you need them in the next inning but not if you are facing the top or the middle of the batting order. Even with the ghost runner at 2nd to start the 10th inning I would rather put myself in a position to win in the 9th than relying on maybe getting to the 10th inning.
  19. But they are trying!
  20. At home in the 9th inning of a tie game you should definitely use your best reliever. Your offense just needs to score one run (please note this is a general statement and not about the Brewers current offense) so keeping the game tied in the top half of the 9th is your ultimate goal with your offense scoring in the bottom half. The 10th inning really shouldn't be coming into play until it actually happens. To me Devin is more of a one inning pitcher so you can't stretch him out over multiple innings. Hader could go multiple innings but by the time last year rolled around it was too close to FA where he wasn't going to risk the big payday if he got hurt or if his numbers started to drop. On the road this is another story you would probably want to keep your closer for the bottom of the 10th. The only time I would use my closer would be if the top or the middle of the order is coming to bat in the bottom of the 9th. You would want to use your best reliever in that spot versus holding them back.
  21. There was a strong offer for Candelario the rumored deal for Jimenez wasn't for Jimenez it was for Candelario. The Brewers offered Adams and Lara for Candelario but the Nationals preferred the Cubs prospects over the Brewers. Just what I have heard from the people I know who have given out information like this in the past. I trust them but take this with a grain of salt.
  22. Not to mention the execs would have to go to a higher role. For example Arnold would have to be hired as the POBO if the Brewers extend Arnold as the GM. So there won't be all that much poaching as some think. There maybe some guys who get poached but it won't be a lot and probably none of the key guys in Milwaukee already.
  23. Must have edited it before I quoted you.
  24. Apparently Perkins should have started the game…..
  25. So your car is a full sized pickup truck?
