  1. I think Conforto made sense before the Mets slapped a QO on him. I just don't see a team giving him a multi year deal and then losing a draft pick. With the season he had he was looking at a 1-year prove it type of deal.
  2. Castellanos: 4,168 innings in RF | 74 innings in LF | 1 assist every 177 innings Yelich: 5,487 innings in LF | 1,621 innings in RF | 1 assist every 257 innings I mean sure, one could choose to play each in the position that the other is more familiar with & put the guy with the weaker arm in RF, but why? Because Ryan Braun played SS in college therefore he can play SS in MLB is basically the clancy reasoning for this.
  3. There is about a 90% chance that the DH is coming to the NL next season with the new CBA and that is where I believe Castellanos would be playing. The Brewers have also looked at putting Hiura in the OF so I think the Brewers see OF as a spot that they are going to add to if they can. The Brewers are rather left handed heavy and are missing a right handed power bat. I wouldn't be surprised if they go out and find someone to fill that right handed power that the team is missing. Castellanos and Bryant fit that definition but I don't think they will be within the Brewers price range. Instead I think Canha and Suzuki are probably more realistic options that the Brewers will go after and both could fill in at DH.
  4. Not seeing the dirty.
  5. The Dodgers currently don't have an established closer on their team as Knebel and Jansen are both free agents. I wonder if this offseason will be the offseason where the Brewers and the Dodgers finally link up and make a trade. Something like this would work: Dodgers: Hader Brewers: Miguel Vargas, Jose Ramos and Hyun-il Choi Vargas is an absolute stud at 1B and should provide 30+ HR each year plus carry a BA in the .290 range. He should be ready to play in MLB at some point next year. Jose Ramos is another that I like a lot and could make the Brewers OF really crowded in the next 3-years. Choi is very raw but looks to be a #3 type pitcher but he is farther out than Vargas and Ramos probably looking at another 3-4 years for him. I think this deal makes the most sense for the Brewers and I don't see the Dodgers subtracting from their MLB team and I don't see anyone I would want to trade for in a Hader deal on their MLB roster either. I think a prospect deal is the best deal when trading Hader as I think you are more likely to get a 90's era Brewer return if you are looking for MLB ready pieces.
  6. Conforto got a QO so that removes him from the FA pool. There is now way he turns down that QO as he was probably looking at a 1-year prove it deal and I doubt teams were going to give him anything near the QO.
  7. He has a pretty nice swing. Leg kick might cause him some issues but shouldn't be that big of a problem. Kind of reminds me of a right handed Ohtani with a leg kick. Other than the leg kick their stance and swings look very similar though Suzuki looks to have less of a launch angle than Ohtani. With the leg kick he may have some issues timing fastballs but I wouldn't be to worried about it. I think he could hit for an average around .260 and give you 20+ home runs. Defensively I am not sure he fits in the Brewers OF probably would be best in LF.
  8. OK I am convinced he is a HOF player proof.....
  9. The Reds are a joke. They seriously couldn't find anyone to trade him to and instead put him on waivers? That Moustakas deal is looking worse and worse for the Reds I am glad the Brewers passed on that disaster.
  10. Why would the A's want Tellez if they are rebuilding? The A's could just bring up some AAAA type at a cheaper price than having Tellez included in the trade. Just doesn't make any sense why they would want Tellez or even Vogelbach included in a deal for Olson.
  11. There is definitely enough road to get up to 156 mph from where that crash happened as that strip of the road is about a quarter mile. Top speed of a stock corvette is 184 MPH I believe. The best quarter mile for a corvette I think is 147 MPH if he didn't have to stop at the first intersection it is extremely possible he could of gotten up to 156 mph and since he was impaired I doubt he stopped at the first intersection and instead went straight through it so he definitely could have been going even faster at times. 156 is definitely possible on that street.
  12. That saves the Giants a lot of money next year at $22m. As for Posey he had a good career but I don't think he is HOF worthy.
  13. Well Lucroy will also get a ring does that help?
  14. Laureano will be extremely hard for the A's to trade or at least to get value for him. He will still be suspended to start the 2022 season due to a positive PED test. I think he still has about 60 games left on his suspension and I believe he can't work out with the team in spring training if I am remembering the suspension rules correctly. If he is not able to work out with the team in spring training it is more than the approximately 60 games left on his suspension so you are looking at a week or two in the minors to get up to game speed so that puts him being back sometime in June next year. I know everyone is going to gravitate towards Olson but I would rather have Chapman. I think you could move Chapman to 1B if you really think Urias is the everyday 3B. If the A's are rebuilding then I think players like Mitchell and Turang are probably not all that interesting to the A's. But that depends on how long the A's think the rebuild will take. It is also hard to peg the market for Olson and Chapman. I think Olson probably has a better chance to be traded as I believe the Yankees will be looking for a 1B this off season and Olson would fit that hole but will they pay what it would take to get Olson in prospects and do the Yankees have the prospects to make that trade happen if they are not willing to include Dominguez? Lauerano also makes some sense for the Yankees here as they need a new CF along with the Giants.
  15. I would just trade the pick and try to get multiple first round picks either in the current draft or the next. Really that is what the Lions should be doing they are not 1 player away from competing nor are they 2 or 3 away. They almost need a whole roster flip besides a few players here and there on offense and defense. Be bad for two more seasons and build a core is what the Lions really need to be doing. Start with the offensive and defensive line and move from there.
  16. The powder blues would be cool. Could even do Marquette also with the blue. I don't think anyone would notice if the Bucks had the Packers colors and I don't think the Packers would were the Bucks purple because that would be hilarious though I think Packer fans would probably be outraged by it. Well some of the Packer fans who bought Favre Viking jerseys could then say they bought the Bucks game jersey's so there would be that.
  17. He is still showing on the roster it maybe he is just getting some rest. I think there is an agreed upon number of innings or games that each player can play in and Wiemer maybe coming up on his limit set by the Brewers. Could also be that other players are currently short on the number of innings or games played. I couldn't find anything in terms of an injury. I hope you're right. It just sucks though because nobody was hotter than Wiemer in the AFL when he last played on Wednesday. Just seems odd that you would sit a guy for the next 4-5 games when he's tearing the cover off the ball like he was. Maybe there is some type of game/innings limit that they are trying to adhere to, and they want to have him for the stretch run? I can't recall - do they have a playoffs in the AFL? The playoffs is just a 1-game final. The AFL also has an all star game.
  18. He is still showing on the roster it maybe he is just getting some rest. 19. So they just added different color stripes? [sarcasm]That is just genius level lazyness![/sarcasm] I wish they would bring back the red jersey's I think those were my favorite alternate jersey.
  20. There is a specific person who posts on here who would of called that dumpster diving as they are not a big named player. Two of the 4 OF's that the Braves acquired the Brewers tried acquiring during the off season also.
  21. Some of those incompletion were from throwaways because no one was open. After that it was nothing but 5-yard routes if there was a passing play. PC still won't use Ferguson his best receiver in the slot he did finally move him away from the line though it was only about 2 feet away from the line a few times so progress? I really want to see PC fired but that won't happen even if the Badgers would have lost every single game this season. At a minimum I would like to see PC removed from the play calling as he just sucks at it. His whole offense depends on having a stud at the RB position and if he doesn't have one then the offense is completely screwed. He barely puts anyone in motion and no that is not on the players not knowing the scheme or not be able to play in that scheme. All of this is ran in high school and earlier football if the Badgers are recruiting players who can't run basic football plays then I am not sure what they are doing. In order for this team to become better on offense with PC calling the plays Allen has to be the starting RB and getting the majority of the carries otherwise this offense is complete garbage. The Badgers WR's are a complete joke with no route running abilities and barely any separation skills at all. The WR's are also constantly getting beat to spots on just about every route they run. Since PC continues to run timing pass routes and with the WR's the Badgers have this is impossible as they constantly get beat to the spot they are supposed to be at. The best player the Badgers have in the receiving game only runs 5-yard out or in routes from the traditional TE spot. I have yet to see Ferguson run a fade route or go for a jump ball instead the Badgers use their WR's to run these routes who are failing miserably at them as they don't get to the correct spot or don't have the athletic ability to beat the defender to the ball.
  22. None of the trades that the Braves made were the going for it moves. Typically going for it moves are trading for a Sabathia, Greinke, etc. Not dumpster diving which is what some on here would have called the trades if it was the Brewers trading for those players.
  23. I disagree with the Mertz going down the tubes after his hot start it looked like the game plan is normal PC play calling when he has a lead which is basically don't blow it. Very little in aggression when it came from the play calling side. All of the passes were safe passes or not thrown at all. There wasn't much for Mertz to do in the 2nd half game plan wise other than don't turn the ball over. The play calling was very conservative as PC normally doesn't get all that aggressive when he has a lead in the 2nd half.
  24. The “as many shots at the Postseason as possible” is the right approach. In baseball, more than any other professional sport, the regular season tells you who the true best teams are and the Postseason is a tournament where quite literally any of the participating teams can win it. Not only that but the Braves literally picked up scrap heap type of players during the deadline and before the deadline. These are the players the Braves traded for: Pederson, Rosario, Duvall, Soler and Rodriguez. Which one of the four was this big time acquisition and the Braves are going for it move? When the Braves acquired Soler this was his slash line: .192/.288/.370 Rosario: .254/.296/.389 Duvall: .229/.277/.478 Rodriguez: 2.82 ERA Pederson: .230/.300/.418 If you just look at the numbers it would be Rodriguez who was the best acquisition at the time for the Braves. So again you don't have to go all in to make the World Series or to even win it. Playoff baseball is basically just random luck and you hope that the random luck is on your side. If it were acquiring players then the Dodgers should have won as they added Scherzer and Turner at the deadline. Scherzer and Turner are far better players than what the Braves traded for and I am not even sure the value or the hype of what the Braves did would even add up to the Scherzer and Turner acquisition.
  25. Everyone has this hate the Astros thing going but I just can not bring myself to hate someone like Altuve. Even with what happened in the past I still love watching Altuve hit.
