  1. What is nothing?
  2. Not really Bucks news and not really surprising news either but Ben Simmons wants out of Philadelphia. I think he goes to Portland with a bunch of picks for Lillard. I think the salaries matchup for a trade like this to occur.
  3. ESPN talking heads are going to explode over this.
  4. That was for the 2020 season. For 2021 I believe it goes back to the normal rules. https://www.mlb.com/glossary/transactions/postseason-roster-rules-eligibility
  5. Not likely unless he is on the 40-man by tomorrow.
  6. Unfortunately the Angels have not soured on Adell. I think you have the right idea and maybe the right division. Laureano was hit with a PED suspension so the A's may have soured on him he would be someone I could see Stearns going after. Another possibility would be Cavan Biggio in Toronto.
  7. If the SEC just invited Ohio State tomorrow I would assume they would accept and move over the SEC. Though Ohio State right now has it really good in the Big Ten they don't really have anyone to compete against other than Penn Stat every once in awhile or maybe Michigan if they are ever good again. For the Big Ten title it is basically Wisconsin, Nebraska or Minnesota in the other bracket. Neither of those three are really a challenge to them maybe once in a decade they would be but never consistently. If the alliance of the Big Ten and other conferences come together and force an automatic bid into the playoffs for their conference champions I don't see why Ohio State would move out of the Big Ten.
  8. I didn't say it was a financially smart decision just that it is a possibility he could do that. I fully expect JBJ to be back but it is one scenario that is possible for him even with him losing $11m by turning down the option.
  9. I could see JBJ turning down his option if he thinks he can get more playing time on another team. I don't believe he will do this but it is a possibility.
  10. The Orioles have ended their 19-game losing streak.
  11. No structural issue but that probably means he is done for the season and so will be the Cardinals. That September schedule for the Cardinals is brutal as they play all but one series against teams competing for a playoff spot.
  12. Wong has posted an .860 OPS on the road vs a .790 OPS at home this year. AmFam hasn't really been doing the Brewers many favors with a .696 OPS at home vs a .747 OPS on the road so far this year. Yes but that is better than his career norms when he was in St. Louis which is what I meant by AmFam helping his overall OPS which is about 80 points higher this season. Though his away splits this season are about 120 points higher than his career norms. I still believe going forward and this year that being in a more hitter friendly home ballpark is going to help him more. I think he will regress a bit on the road going forward but I think his home OPS is right in line with what he should be doing. Before this year he had an .855 OPS at AmFam so I think you can see an increase in his OPS at AmFam.
  13. I like that Wong is proving me right and his OPS at least for this season has improved. I still believe it is because he is now playing in a more hitter friendly home ballpark.
  14. The Cardinals look done. They had to end this month strong and it looks like they are going out with a whimper.
  15. This aged very poorly.
  16. Majority of the minor league players taken in the minor league portion of the rule 5 draft are guys who are normally roster filler types. Normally players who are your AAAA type players that a team needs to fill some AAA or AA roster spots. Teams don't normally draft guys to fill holes in A ball as there are usually enough players to pick from in their organization already. The majority of rule 5 draft picks on the minor league side are pitchers. For the 2020 rule 5 draft 15 of the 25 players drafted in round 1 were pitchers. Unless a team is looking specifically for someone like Ernesto I don't see him being picked in the minor league portion of the draft. I am not sure the Brewers would add Ernesto to the 38man in AAA either.
  17. He is throwing hard….he isn’t hurt. You can still throw hard and be hurt or have some discomfort.
  18. Well it is not like people haven't been warning about this ever since spring training started.
  19. These pitches are missing by a lot. I hope Burnes isn't hurt or something is bothering him usually when a pitcher is missing like this it means they are having some kind of discomfort. Hopefully this is just a mechanical issue and not a physical issue.
  20. So you are saying it is like WCW back in da day?
  21. Big 10, Pac-12 and ACC forming an alliance to counter the SEC? https://www.cbssports.com/college-football/news/big-ten-acc-pac-12-alliance-to-combat-secs-influence-expected-to-be-announced-tuesday/ This won't do all that much other than help with the TV revenue for the conferences and allow for them to dominate the playoff expansion talks.
  22. Don't go too far out onto that limb. Why would I have to go out on a limb? It is rather obvious he should be but sometimes the voters can be weird on who they let in and who they don't.
  23. What do you think he gets in free agency (assuming he can keep up his production)? I think Avi can get something in the 3-4 year range and a total of about $50-60m. AAV should be something around $15-17m.
  24. Miguel Cabrera with his 500th Home Run today. He is 45 short of 3000 hits, I don't believe he will get to 3000 this season but if he plays next year he should. Even if he doesn't get to 3000 hits he should be in the HOF.
