    They better have a HC already picked out also as it is getting late in the year for recruiting. May lose the whole class if they don't get it right and possibly last years class also.

    Fields is just a bad QB. He has a hard time going through his progressions. He is so so so so so slow at going through his progressions that he misses wide open receivers and then gets sacked or tries to run with the ball.     Trade market is even worse IMHO. Other than pitching there isn’t much available that you would want to overpay for.

    The only player I would feel comfortable giving a long term deal to would probably be Josh Naylor. Everyone else would be DH's or too old or have too many questions about health and ability. I am not a big Bichette fan and I think he screams more Adames or Swanson. A good player to have but let someone else over pay for him. I am also not sure if Bichette will stay healthy and you could have another Yelich type of a situation. Tucker is another option but again how healthy will he be and will he be worth that contract? It sucks that Yelich is basically a DH only option at this time as Schwarber would be an excellent addition to the Brewers and I don't think you need to give him anything more than 3-4 years maybe 5-years. The only problem is that it will be at about $20-25mm a season. That 4-year $79mm contract for the Phillies looks like a bargain now. Where was the Doug Melvin special for Schwarber then? I am half joking on this but a 5 year $100mm contract would have looked good right about now for the Brewers. I am not sure Schwarber would have came to Milwaukee for that but whatever.

SHORTSTOPS Miguel Rojas (37 years old, 4.5 WAR) Bo Bichette (28, 4.1) Trevor Story (33, 3.7) -- can opt out (Red Sox can void via club option) Ha-Seong Kim (30, 2.9) -- player option Isiah Kiner-Falefa (31, 2.8) Jorge Mateo (31, 0.2) -- club option Orlando Arcia (31, 0.0) Tim Anderson (33, -1.3) Probably just best to go with Ortiz for '26 and hope Made makes the same leap Chourio did and is ready for '27. Probably unlikely for Made to do that so realistically it is probably '28 for Made. Trade market there really isn't anyone and no Rengifo is not an option. Probably just best to move Turang back to SS and move Ortiz back to 3B. I would prefer a trade for someone like Donovan but I doubt the Cardinals would trade him in the division.

    Can we fake an injury for Yelich like his back is hurting or something? An absolutely worthless spot in the lineup as he can't hit and well you can't field from DH.

    Yelich has been an absolute no show throughout the whole playoffs. Maybe they should have kept him off the NLCS roster and had Hoskins take his spot.

    Has a near identical swing path though he has more of an uppercut than Prince did but finish wise they are the same.

    I think MLB would absolutely hate a Dodgers Mariners series and would prefer a Dodgers - Blue Jays, Brewers - Mariners or Brewers - Blue Jays. Having all of the games in the west coast would be a nightmare for MLB. Yes I know about the past series of all California teams.

    No where for him to play. Vaughn is a better bat and defender at 1B. Bauers can play multiple positions. If Chourio didn’t injury his hamstring I believe Hoskins would be in the roster. Right now there isn’t a spot for him. You would have to play Yelich in LF and then DH Hoskins. Hoskins is just not a fit roster wise for the playoffs.

    I am keeping my eye on Rintaro Sasaki. He skipped the NPB draft and is eligible for the 2026 MLB draft. He is extremely raw but he has a lot of power. He is a 1B only option as he is a big dude. Kind of reminds me of a taller Prince Fielder. Forgot this one also when he first came over.

    You really don't know what the word abandon means? Seriously? Here is the definition in case you forgot or you don't know: Not focusing on it more is not abandoning it. So yes you made something up yet again. Also they haven't abandoned it and the 2026 HS class for WI is severely lacking in talent. Sometimes it is just best to skip a year which WI has done in the past in recruiting from WI. Not to mention Cole Reiter who has committed to the Badgers in the 2027 class and is a top 20 OT in that class is a better recruit than Meier is who is ranked 44th in the 2026 class. So not only would he be behind the other recruits but he would also be behind the recruits coming in after him. There are also only so many scholarships available and I doubt Meier would want to be a walk on when he has scholarship offers from others. No one is going to walk on when there are other B1G schools and other larger colleges giving you a free ride no matter how loyal the person is to Wisconsin football at that stage you would be an absolute moron to turn a scholarship down just to walk on at wherever.

    That was a 100% PC decision to bring him on the defensive side. There is a good QB that is coming in with the 2025 recruiting class in Carter Smith along with WR Eugene Hilton. The 2026 class also has Petit, Bah Gaad and Latimer. A lot of Fickell's good recruiting is only recently. So no they don't need to focus more on Wisconsin. The players above for 2026 have all been poached from SEC school territory.

    They won't get rid of him as the buyout is too much. I think he gets all of next season and possibly the first half of the next season also.
