  1. Just going to leave this here:
  2. People start wearing winter jackets around here when it dips below 70.
  3. It was a warm winter here in Phoenix but the last few days have been brutally cold with highs only in the mid 50’s.
  4. I really don't want to see MLB become the NFL. The parity in the NFL is just disgusting and makes it overly watered down. I can't really tell you the difference between the middle teams in NFL and the best teams in the NFL. To me it is just team A vs team B now.
  5. That eliminates another team for Alonso and Bregman, probably more so Alonso than Bregman here. I don't want to see anything like the NFL style parity as it is just stale and boring. I haven't watched a full NFL game in about 10 years now the game is just way too boring now and there really isn't much of a difference between the top and bottom teams other than QB and/or coaching. If the MLB were to go the parity route I would prefer something like the NHL or NBA. Just make the salary ceiling a bit lower and increase the penalties for going over and add a salary floor around $100mm.
  6. It is just completely toxic and fake. If you use it for anything other than finding a job sure it is fine. But poke around on some of the other stuff and it is just absolute cancer. Stuff like this:
  7. Not entirely true. Insurance rates tend to be more local than they are national and wouldn't have much of an impact on the 10-year. The biggest gripe with investors has been the sluggish economy which outperformed the metrics but it went from a turd sandwich to the turd being removed from the bread. The economy still being a bit sluggish is the main factor the 10-year hasn't moved down. There is still a fear that inflation is not in check yet. I don't expect the FED to raise rates but I don't think they are going to do any more cuts for at least the first 2 quarters of 2025. If inflation rises above what they are expecting there may be a round of rate hikes which will send the 10-year even higher. The only way I see the 10-year going down is if we see expected growth rates around 3.5-4% then I will fully expect rates to come down for the 10-year. It really is all going to depend on the economic growth rates so Q1 will be extremely important. If we only see something around 3% I don't think that is enough to encourage the market to bring down those rates.
  8. It doesn't bug me but I think all social media is a cancer and the biggest one of them all is LinkedIn and Meta (Facebook and Instagram). Meta is probably the main reason or the biggest reason there are so many mental health and health issues for young women and mental health issues for men especially the 13-25 year old males. I don't use TikTok but I am going to assume it has the same issues as other social media platforms.
  9. I am surprised there hasn't been more cases or there may have been but the schools it happened to happened to be in a smaller conference and the larger conference or team just paid the smaller schools off to push it under the rug. This happening between two large programs isn't surprising the only surprising part of this is that it hasn't happened previously.
  10. That was just a very poor loss.
  11. Can’t can’t can’t lose at home against someone like Xavier. If they lose this game that’s going to be a really bad loss. Probably drops them from a #1 seed and possibly a 2 seed in the tournament.
  12. I hate working with Gen Z’s. That is all.
  13. Have been watching TREX LABS and his series on the ATF is rather interesting. This one specifically is extremely interesting: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IFGFcklICvo
  14. People were expecting it to not be the Dodgers? Why?
  15. If the Brewers sign Alonso it would be closer to what they did with Grandal. So a 1-year deal with a mutual option which will get declined from both sides which just makes it a 1-year deal. 1B/DH free agents don't have much in terms of a bargaining position in free agency. Alonso is going to learn this real quick as I don't believe there is a team out there that will beat what the Mets initially offered him last year with the 7-year deal. He will have to take a 1-year deal similar to what Grandal had to do in order to get a big payday.
  16. Mortgage rates unlikely to drop below 6% in 2025 regardless of what the FED does or doesn’t do. The rate of 6-7% looks to be permanent for now until the 10 year treasury starts to go down but I don’t believe this will happen anytime soon.
  17. Do we know if they have discontinued their China scouting department? I thought I read somewhere that they had set one up that year they signed a Chinese pitcher who flamed out due to TJ issues I believe?
  18. All of these signings are why the Brewers were never going to be in on Sasaki and I believe this was and is the right approach for the Brewers.
  19. I am going to wait to board the hype train until they are in A ball at least.
  20. I am going to assume Chourio will play for Venezuela.
  21. Financial sector especially at a bank is scarping the bottom of the barrel when it comes to developer talent. So many morons that just barely know how to sign into the systems let alone code.
  22. Where we work we have our own version of an AI prompt. It is absolutely horrible for anything dealing with code especially Python. Python is what is used for the most part where I work along with JAVA. For Python someone used the AI to write some code and it absolutely destroyed a server because it installed pandas that are not allowed due to risk issues and installed some newer versions that were not approved yet making other code other teams have created to stop working. It was an absolute mess.
  23. It was rather clear it was the Dodgers or Padres early on. The agent and handlers were just blowing smoke about the information they were leaking out.
  24. Not the best site for team salary but Spotrac has the Brewers estimated at about $108mm and Fangraphs has the Brewers at $116mm. The Brewers opened last year at $105mm. 2023 is when the Brewers had an opening day payroll of $118mm. https://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/mlb/2023/04/06/mlb-team-payrolls-2023-highest-lowest-mets/11612107002/ https://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/mlb/2024/04/03/mlb-team-payrolls-2024-highest-lowest-mets/73139425007/ https://www.spotrac.com/mlb/milwaukee-brewers/overview/_/year/2025/sort/cap_total2 https://www.fangraphs.com/roster-resource/payroll/brewers?season=2025
