  1. During one of his games, the announcers were talking about how people started keying off his pitch location also. Swinging at the high FBs and letting the low pitches go. If he can't get strikes on his low pitches, he struggles getting hit with his high stuff.
  2. Or a starter on Dick Bennett's WI team... This kind of tells me two things: 1) He gets hyped for his BB IQ, so I take that as REALLY high IQ. 2) Second round picks are such low value, they are given away for $$. You have to take risks to find gold.
  3. Regarding Khris and the cap... as I read it, declining the option was the only way we could reduce his cap number. He can now sign for less/year (longer years). Thought I read someone speculating on Brooks and Mids coming back at lower numbers so the Bucks could get the mid-level exception back... but I don't remember seeing the numbers added up, so don't quote me on that.
  4. Well, shooting is a major flaw in playing BBall. 😂 I was scratching my head last night; kind of hoping for a EU high-upside type that would sit in Europe for a year or two. But both the guys we got were interesting physical specimens. Between them and Beauchamp, hopefully one learns to shoot. We certainly do have "a type" in drafting tendencies. I did love that we could grab our 2nd rounder from 7 years in the future, throw in some cash and suddenly we have a high second rounder. People really don't value them much.
  5. Hire Louis Ely and your Woah are solvvd!
  6. I've known this guy for years... on an internet chat board... but he has great NFL draft write-ups! 😂 @LouisEly I do hope the job search is going well.
  7. I tend to agree with nate82. Would Oakland not move if they were getting TV revenue sharing? Wouldn't they get the same in LV? Moves will still be about facilities and attendance.
  8. I seem to remember Myers being projected in the 3rd round, maybe 4th. Not 6th. Being picked at the end of the 2nd wasn't much of a reach. Picking Myers over Humphrey hurts of course... And I agree that moving laterally seems to be a bit of a weakness for him. Moving vertically (i.e. second level and going up field at guys) seems to be a strength for him. He'll be slow, especially on that first step to get someone on a reach block, but once he gets going, he moves well.
  9. That would be poetic irony and an apt penance for using us to sign a bigger LAD deal a couple years back. 😂
  10. Kind of a no-win scenario. If you trade them away and sit at 31-37, people will say "what if we hadn't traded them in such a bad division". Even if all three did exactly the same somewhere else, the expectation would be, "Well, they would've been better here".
  11. I have a wedding to attend tonight, so I won't watch it anyway, but it does annoy me that I have MLB.TV...yet can't watch these games. I hate being manipulated into downloading an app for everything or pushed into various streaming services. Give me an all-or-nothing package...
  12. Lately, that has been anyone with a pulse. 😟
  13. Not to mention that we rarely develop pitching... 😅
  14. Yeah, I thought about Tom at center and Myers at G, but it doesn't seem like there is any path to that with the team. But I disagree about his athletism. He actually does well getting to the second level and leading the run. I think his misses come more from instincts/lack of experience. Maybe he is thinking too much and tends to whiff when he doesn't get a good start; especially on reach blocks. Maybe experience helps things slow down for him this year (basicallly having played just over one season). Or maybe he'd be a much better guard when he really only has to focus on the person directly in front of him.
  15. I could've bought Walmart, Microsoft, Google and Amazon before they exploded too. Life would be very different if we could predict the future.
  16. And yet, here we are... debating it. 😂
  17. I am optimistic about the O-Line this year and also noted that Bakh has been running drills this year. That is great to see. I'm sort of "cheering" for a starting lineup of Bakh-Jenkins-Myers-Tom-Nijman. I think this gives them the best "upside" starting OL. Tom obviously needs to start somewhere. Myers has the most to improve from last year, but also has the physical gifts to do so. Nijman was great at LT, very good at RT (save for the last game when he was injured and benched). That leaves us with Runyan. Runyan is OK (though I'm more down on him than most), but is physically limited and probably maxed out at "average".
  18. Given Giannis' game style, I could buy that he might have peaked already. His game is predicated on being uber-athletic. Father time catches up with him too. When that is gone, he won't have a jumper to fall back on.
  19. No matter what his outcome, he was a good snag by the Brewers this year for a cash trade. He already has 1.0 WAR on the season. I doubt he keeps up his 800 OPS or 121 OPS+ the whole season, but might as well ride him while he does. He slots into that Hernan Perez role pretty well. Maybe more value in his bat compared to Perez' value in his defense. He is 26 this year and isn't arby eligible until 2025. A nice find and a local to boot!
  20. I'll always remember where I was and what I was doing...
  21. Singleton would be a better hitter if fair ground was foul and foul ground was fair... Every ball he smokes is a foul ball.
  22. So what do we think of Teheran to this point? Sub 4 ERA career, though barely touched MLB the last 3 years. Not that I think he'll keep pitching sub 2 ERA (his current FIP aligns with his career sub 4 ERA). Is he a guy that is just benefiting from the Brewer's strong defense and pitching game plans? I keep waiting for the shoe to drop, but he is filling in nicely with Woody out. Might take Lauer's spot in the rotation when everyone is healthy too.
  23. Well, there literally is a zero on the board, so... 😡
