  1. So he is similar to Suter? Older college guy with good control and not much else? He needs to have good control and outsmart hitters to be successful?
  2. It has been a couple of weeks and he is still knocking them out. He has not given up a run in the last ten games! 23.1 innings pitcher this year , 2 earned runs, and a 0.90 whip. He could easily fit on the 25 man roster as a switch for Lopez (who is doing fine) would be no big deal. Putting him on the 40 man roster would mean a cut of some sort cut. Is Nick Franklin on the 40? If so then no big deal. If not then Sogard and that is a little bigger ($2,000,000) to swallow.
  3. Wisconsin native who has a .068 era in A+ after nine starts and 53 innings. He has never had a 4.00 era in his three years with the Brewers. At six foot six and left handed and his current number, he is hard not to like without ever seeing him pitch. Has anyone seen him pitch? What does he throw and how fast?
  4. Pina, Medieros, Hauser and Ray. Is that enough? I can't seeing doing much more.
  5. Ding, ding, ding, ding....we have a winner!
  6. Round 1 Noah Naylor Has everything I like, lefty, power, premium position.
  7. They are pitching quite well and keeping us in games and the offense is starting to look more complete. I am glad Woodruff got 2 innings before they sent him down. We are in such a good place barring multiple long term injuries. Knock on wood.
  8. If Woodruff starts tomorrow, we have all for starters being right handed. If the other team starts all lefties, just start Suter. If things go good (winning 4-2 at the end of 5), bring in Hader and the game is 90% won. If Suter does not make it to 5 innings, you go with Jennings for two innings and see what happens. If Suter is the starter and the other team start all righties, just start Woodruff.
  9. Don't you just hate the Cardinals? They just perform.
  10. I look at it this way. Suter's made 8 starts and has gone at least 5 innings in all of them. Woodruff's made 3 starts and only made it to 5 innings once and that was against a struggling Diamondback team. Suter has the 5th spot until Miley reclaims it. Peralta going down will open up the spot for Anderson. Suter will start Wednesday on regular rest. The only question is do you keep Lopez around and allow Woodruff to stay stretched out by starting in AAA or do you move Woodruff to the pen. I think Woodruff goes back to CS. I really like Suter, but would rather see Woodruff get big league starts to see if he can be consistent.
  11. He's climbing my list. My question is...How close is he to Suter?
  12. To date, his lowest average day (After April 10) for his stat line is .264/.290/.318 his highest average day (After April 10) for his stat line is .302/.341/.385 If he could stay between those two lines the rest of the year , our second base situation would be solved. A line of .280/.315/.350 is acceptable. Just get on base, be smart when on base, and show a little power and everything else will fall in place.
  13. Woah, big league hitter? I love to see his power numbers go up as they have this past week (5 home runs), but baseball is a sport of streaks. One week up, one week down. If he can do a .275/.350/.500 for the entire year, I will have a little more faith in your statement.
  14. Who gets sent down as Anderson (Monday) and Davies (Wednesday) return from the DL? The starts should fall something like this... S Guerra M Anderson T Chacin W Woodruff/Suter T Davies then Rinse and Repeat Anderson jumps in and gives an extra days rest to Chancin and Woodruff. If Suter starts he will be on five days rest. My guess is Woodruff gets the Wednesday start with Freddy going down for Anderson then Lopez (trying to use him in low leverage situations two times during the week) goes down for Davies.
  15. Right now he has an overall OPS of .762 in the majors but his slash line against RHP's is .261/.370/.522/.892 (Small sample alert, only 23 AB's) but his 2017 split against RHP is .256/.340/.558/.898 (43 AB's). His minor league split this year is .271/.358/.644/1.002 (59 AB's) and last year was .306/.379/.561/.939 (157 AB's).[/quote Sounds like a low risk, low cost answer to backup catcher.
  16. With Vogt going down , are there any left handed hitting catchers worth a ....?
  17. Looks like he is toast. https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2018/05/stephen-vogt-shoulder-surgery-brewers-career.html
  18. I said the same thing about Michael Brantley once upon a time. Different players obviously. He doubled his HR total last night with a 3/5 (HR, 2B and 1B) and now has a .525 slugging percent.
  19. Woodruff will be fine with a little more fine tuning. The physical talent is there. Nelson is a good comparison. My big point is, look at all the number of quality arms we have AND how young and controllable these arms will be for the next half decade and beyond. All we need is Buzz Lightyear and to infinity we go.
  20. Sometimes dreams come true!
  21. The Blue Flu, it is just sick.
  22. He hits for a higher average then all of our first round draft choice outfielders!
  23. How uncommon would it be to sign and trade for Machado? If we could do that, I would make Arcia, Santiago and Burnes as the main part of the deal. Maybe he would take a shorter deal like 4/$130 making him 29 at the end of the deal and still primed for another contract and not burden the Brewers super long term. Maybe take Trumbo in the deal for Agulier or Choi as all three are basically the same player and gives them salary relief. For everybody that says it cost too much, it is Mark's money and he can spend it if he wants. I do think he wants to win.
