  1. https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/hollywood-charges-forward-production-plans-virus-surge-1303906 Pretty sure production has started in most places. You know, as soon as people start realizing they'll be losing money all the talk about "stay home, stay safe" and whatever goes right out the window.
  2. Watch the video. It's an embarrassment to MLB that this happened. Seems like they even delayed the game so Joe could call security to have him escorted out. The thing about Joe West is that he's not horrible when it comes to doing the job of an umpire. The problem is that he's a turd human being and that leads things like this.

  4. It's not fasting but on the advice of a dietician I replaced my lunch meal with a Boost shake. I lost 10 pounds over a winter doing that with adding in about an hour of walking on the treadmill 4 or 5 days a week.
  5. Is a hitter coming off the DL soon? I wouldn't be surprised if Vogelbach is gone by the end of next week. Like I posted before, this seems like a claim just to have a guy on the roster they can easily dump when they need to.
  6. I think it was more than they decided to DFA Smoak and Vogelbach happened to be available at the time so they filled the roster spot with a guy they can easily dump when they need to. I would guess Gyorko is the full time 1B now.
  7. I know news and journalism has pretty much been non-existent for quite awhile but why is it now considered "news" to report on what late night comedians are saying on their shows? When I check my Apple news in the morning it's full of "Colbert skewers (insert name of politician)" and other headlines like that. Today even my local newspaper app had a similar story. So now the "real" news people have to get their "news" from the "fake" news people.
  8. It's the logo for the stadium. Big freaking whoop.
  9. Totally surprised there was any suspension at all. But it's been appealed and will almost certainly be brought down to 2 games. Even 3 games is too little. If the league really wants to stop this suspend him the rest of the season.
  10. MLB won't do anything about it. Maybe a fine and even less likely a game or two suspension. Tampa should just refuse to play tonight. That's what it will take for MLB to actually do something.
  11. Provided he hasn't been stupid with his money, he could retire today and never have to work a day the rest of his life. If he takes a 1 year deal for $30M and blows out his arm and never pitches again or signs for like 6 years and $150M he still never has to work a day the rest of his life. I really hope he follows through on what he's saying. I'd find it refreshing for a guy to bounce around to wherever the money is the most instead of signing a long term megadeal with some crap team and lie about how much he wanted to be with said team and is excited to play there.
  12. Erceg's sub .500 OPS in the Continental Electric League certainly isn't going to help his prospect status.
  13. Depends on the school. Some are postponing till spring. Otherwise fall is starting a couple weeks later. I think it's pretty likely the fall season gets cancelled at some point though. If not because of mass school closures then due to the logistics of some schools getting shut down for a few weeks and the scheduling logistics just being impossible. Practice can start Sept 7th. The conference were in is staying fall. North of GB you might as well get what you can out of fall. The spring football season would start March 1st. Our field would be snow covered yet, then a mud pit for a few weeks. Spring football is unrealistic up here. We will go practice, weight room, inter-squad scrimmages, heck even flag 7 on 7 before moving to spring. I don't understand how spring football can even be considered. Unless you have a turf field you'll be playing in mud and totally destroy a grass field playing in spring.
  14. People realize this is David Phelps we're talking about here, right? A 33 year old relief pitcher who, outside of here and there, has been average or worse during his career. Not sure why anyone would expect anything of real value in return.

  16. Big10 AD's, administrators, and conference officials: "We're going to lose how much money if we don't play!? Well, then I guess we're playing."
  17. Might as well just pull names out of a hat. You have Yelich and Huira as your clear two best hitters and then the rest are no better or worse than each other.
  18. I would agree. I talk with way too many parents of high school kids that just flippantly throw out the hope that their kid gets an athletic scholarship. I don't think it's because they overestimate the athletic ability of their child but because they seem to think scholarships are plentiful and available everywhere. Pretty much none of them know that there are no athletic scholarships at D3 and D2 scholarships don't cover much.
  19. Wasn't it also reported the DJ was very much against the Brewers pitching strategy of short outings for starters and relying on the bullpen? People can continue to say the Brewers should have just given him gobs of money to stay all they want but it seems like he had a lot of reasons he wanted to go elsewhere and to Cincinnati specifically.
  20. Are the M’s trying to give away games? Taylor was absolutely brutal the last two summers, continually throwing in-game BP. Hopefully he figures it out, but he didn’t deserve a roster spot williams was awarded a fourth option that is only valid for this year, and seattle knew that when they claimed him. the guy is five-for-five in save opportunities, has a 1.09 whip and has held hitters to a .195 batting average. he's also struck out 13.09/9. i think he's figured it out, and when rosters were set at 30 for the first two weeks (and possibly key players were sidelined by the covid-19 injured list), many clubs had guys who probably didn't deserve a roster spot, but circumstances allowed for it . . . and some, like williams, have gotten to absolutely shine. May he figured it out, maybe he hasn't. He's thrown 11 innings this year. Not sure we can make too many judgements off of that.
  21. I have an eBay business so not exactly what you're doing but similar. Rare items will sell for high dollar but you will probably have to wait awhile for the person willing to pay your price to find it. Don't waste your time with cards unless you have something that is rare. Look through solds to see if any card is worth your time. 99% of the time it isn't. Even bulk lots of cards. There's not much you can do to "drum up interest". If people want it, they will find it. If you let me know what other things your selling or PM a link to your store I can look and tell what I think of your listings.
  22. The WIAA's calendar has baseball starting April 12 and ending June 30. That's starting at least 3 weeks later. From what I've heard there probably won't be a post season or state tournament which tells me conference schedules will go into June. Earliest Practice: April 19, 2021 Note: Pitcher instruction week is April 11-17 Earliest Game: April 27, 2021 Regionals: (D2-D4) - June 10, 15 and 16, (D1) - June 15 and 17 Sectionals: June 22 State: June 29-30-July 1 (Tentative) The AD I talked to last week said they weren't expecting any post season. Maybe that's changed since then.
  23. I'm not sure what the owners are being dishonest about. They want to make money and they will put on a season that will make them money. The players pretended at the beginning they were concerned about health and then it quickly turned to money and even now you can tell there is very little care about protocols during games. I'm sure it's not a whole lot better when they're off camera either.

  25. A football field won't fit in Miller Park. That was big news when they built it.
