  1. Yikes. This news is brutal.
  2. Harrison is making me feel as though Santana or Brinson are more expendable than I previously thought.
  3. 1. Anderson 2. Davies 3. Sabathia 4. Woodruff 5. Hader Suter is in the pen as the long man/spot starter. Meanwhile, Nelson is either going to fill a spot in that rotation or a guy like Burnes later in the season. I'm on board.
  4. Is he allowed to audible? I can't remember hearing one in the last game.
  5. 2010: Capers' defense finished the season ranked 2nd in scoring defense, 5th in total defense, 2nd in interceptions, 2nd in sacks, and 1st in opposing quarterback passer rating, in spite of being decimated by injuries during the 2010 season. 2011: Capers lead a 5th ranked defensive squad and helped the Packers win the Super Bowl. During the playoff run his team had a pick 6 in the final 3 playoff games that year; Divisional Round (Williams), Championship game (Raji), and in Super Bowl 45 (Collins.) Seems like a long time ago... Thanks for the list. From what I have heard, some players think Capers' system is "antiquated." I'm not sure about that. IMHO, he doesn't have the talent. Ergo Ted Thompson is the primary reason. I don't know if anyone can say that Capers doesn't know what he is doing. He obviously has the mind but what he has done of the past few years now hasn't worked. It may be time to change to get a different thought process and message to the defensive players. And yes, it was a long time ago.

  7. Yeah, I get that he is a nice guy and maybe the plan is to ask him to be involved with the Brewers at some point whether its radio, tv or social media. I just don't get why not try to find a diamond in the rough somewhere? Find some Indy ballplayer and give them the shot over having Dillard back for his 16th season. This just feels like charity to me.
  8. Did the Bucks play defense to begin with? Seems like they got a pretty good player for not much of a return.
  9. I don't watch much of the Steelers but what has Watt done that is so special? I know he had a great first game but I haven't heard much about him since.
  10. Don't change a thing. People need to get off their high horse around here and be okay with others that have differing opinions. The poster they kept calling out was Clancy, who was nice enough to defend it, and it was not needed. At all.
  11. The thing about this is when Brady doesn't play, whether that be last season or when Cassel took over, they still run their offense for the most part. I just do not understand what McCarthy is doing when we have to play our backup. Let the kid do his thing. Run and gun it. That's what he did well in college and when we've seen him play well in the pros. I mean what is the gameplan? Try to score 10-15 points and hope the other side of the ball resembles an NFL defense?
  12. I heard it was Giannis.
  13. It was a Gold Package or Milwaukee game. It also was Monday night and they showed no signs of really even competing last night. I don't blame the fans for getting the heck out of there. I have said to my group of friends for awhile that Packers fans are spoiled. They boast about being such great fans and it is easy to do so when you are winning every season. Let's see what that looks like after another season like the one we are in right now.
  14. Cephus has been so fun to watch too. With a competent QB, that dude would light it up.
  15. 30 points given up when you needed a good performance for your backup QB. Lions never punted. First time since 1971. Not sure how anyone can make excuses anymore. Hand Clay Matthews a pink slip as well. He could get around an orange cone these days.
  16. Yeah I used to make excuses for him but those days are over for me. I’m afraid McCarthy is too loyal and going to sink his own ship with keeping Capers. Thank the man for his service and find the next great defensive coach out there.
  17. This is where we differ. Yeah, I want to win next season and want us too badly but I just don't feel that sacrificing our best arm talent in our system because we might be alright next season. Stearns needs to go out and find guys to replace Hader in that pen. I'm on the side, and maybe I'm in the minority, but I believe this guy is just too dang special of a player to not ride him out as a starter. He might have Randy Johnson type early years but I just believe he'll be special if we let him be. I can't think of another Brewer, ever, that has had the arm talent that this guy has.
  18. I think to start 2018 having Hader as a pen arm would be extremely crazy and not a great use of the best arm in our organizations. 2018 is a great year to begin to figure out if he can start or not. Heck 2018 & 19 should be given to him to figure it out. If after two years of starting he's just okay, then put him back in the pen and let him do what he does. What I can't understand is how people don't want to give an electric arm like that the opportunity to start. We finally have a guy that could be, maybe he won't, but could be a legit ace. Let's not waste this opportunity because we might be able to win another 85 games next season.
  19. I'm very excited for these two but they won't be facing UNI/Stout anymore so we'll find out in a hurry how much they will contribute. Hoping for big things and the next wave of great Wisconsin players.
  20. I hope the bar is higher. It should be. I want the organization to get to a point where expectations are high for this team so that guys realize that we are in this to win. 2018 should be one of those years, even if it is with a bunch of young guys. Create a culture of winning. Gotta start somewhere.
  21. Whenever Wang pitches, he never looks very good.
  22. Do wins over Iowa, Michigan, Minnesota and what looks like now, Michigan State do it? I could see them snubbing the B10 in favor of two SEC (Georgia/Bama), ND and whoever wins the Big 12 (OK).
  23. I would rather us try Braun at 1B next season during left-handed pitching and let Thames mash up the righties. This would allow Braun to get comfortable there and possibly move into that position full time in the future. As great of a story as Aguilar was last season and he seems to be a great guy, I just don't see it ending well if he were a full-time guy. He also is not very good defensively and is stuck at one position. That doesn't seem to be a great combo for us.
  24. Superstore on NBC, while not a 'mockumentary,' has a similar feel as The Office and Parks and Rec - ensemble cast, subtle humor, no laugh track. I was going to say Superstore as well. Made by some of the same people as The Office. Maybe I need to try it again. Watched the first few episodes of season one and to me, it just wasn't very funny.
  25. I will say it wasn't very smart of Alvarez to have the non-conference schedule that he did when he knew well in advanced the B10 schedule was soft this season. It is where I have to agree with Colin Cowherd a bit. They should have been proactive and actually scheduled a good nonconference opponent to offset not seeing OSU, Penn St, Mich St. all in the same year.
