  1. Yeah, Devers is a great hitter no doubt, but only so many teams can afford $270M for a DH only player.
  2. With today's win it looks like the Brewers went 21 W - 16 L over the aforementioned stretch. Might not seem all that impressive at face value, but that is a 92 win pace over 162. If they can keep that pace up over the remaining 89 games it would put them right around 89 or 90 wins at the end of the season.
  3. & now Mike Boeve gets in on the Biloxi bomb squad with a two run shot making it a 9-6 lead.
  4. Adam Hall singled, stole second, and came around to score on a Luis Lara RBI single to give the Shuckers a 7-6 lead top seven.
  5. Wisco added a tenth run top of nine with a Marco Dinges single, Luiyin Alastre walk, and Tayden Hall RBI single. & TRats just went final with the 10-4 win.
  6. Biloxi puts up a half dozen runs in the fifth to tie things up at six apiece. Luke Adams hit a grand slam and Brock Wilken followed with a two run shot.
  7. Carolina goes final with a 2-1 loss. Melvin Hernandez covered the last three innings going ten up, nine down (1 BB | 1 K).
  8. Nashville goes final with a 5-0 win. Elvis Peguero (1 H | 1 K) and Joel Payamps (1 BB | 1 K) each posted a zero to finish it out.
  9. Wisco added four more top of eight with a Luiyin Alastre double, four straight walks, and a Jadher Areinamo two RBI single.
  10. Carolina trailing 2-0 after six but just got on the board top of seven with Reece Walling tripling then scoring on a wild pitch. Jesus Made with a single, double, two walks and two stolen bags (& some outs on the bases too) to this point.
  11. Wisco leading 5-2 top eight. Jadher Areinamo has a double, two singles, and three RBI (& some outs on the bases). Los dos Garcias - Eduardo y Yhoswar - have a double each with Eduardo adding a single & walk as well. Patricio Aquino went two scoreless (1 H | 1 BB | 2 K).
  12. Shuckers trailing 6-0 top of five though all four of Brett Wichrowski’s runs were unearned on a pair of Brock Wilken errors. Luis Lara and Garrett Spain singles the only hits so far.
  13. Nashville up 5-0 with Bruce Zimmerman (4.2 IP), Craig Yoho (0.2 IP), Bryan Hudson (0.2 IP) and Tyler Jay (1 IP) working around seven singles and three walks to shut em out thru seven. Bobby Dalbec (two HR, single), Freddy Zamora (three singles, stolen base), Tyler Black (two walks, stolen base), and EMJ (double) have been the standouts with the bats thus far.
  14. Freddie Freeman re-imagined as a 5'11" middle infielder? I'll take it !!
  15. ERA is a fine stat for communicating how good a pitcher and his defense are at preventing runs. The peripherals tell us more about the pitcher's individual abilities. I don't look down on either, they both work in conjunction. Like Bryse Wilson has a 3.42 ERA with the Brewers and that's better than Freddy Peralta's 3.68 ERA with the Brewers. But we all know Peralta is a better pitcher than Wilson which is most succinctly communicated by Freddy having a 3.68 FIP versus a 4.68 FIP for Bryse.
  16. After three walks and zero hits through four innings, DSL Gold made a game of it anyway falling 14-12 with one of those good old fashioned DSL football scores (two point conversion to tie was stuffed at the goal line as the clock expired). Some box highlights... Christopher Acosta (triple, two walks) Kenny Fenelon (single, walk, HBP, stolen base) Jonathan Rangel (Home Run, sac fly, walk) Francis Sosa (double, two walks) Roniel Paulino (double, single, three walks) Fabian Reyes (one 3U3D inning)
  17. Jorge Quintana also back in the lineup at DH for the ACL Crew after an eight day absence.
  18. Couple pitching duels in the early innings on the island. DSL Blue hitters have just a pair of singles from Justin Lugo and Joan Gutierrez while Luis Velasquez has given up just a walk and single through three innings (1 K). DSL Gold hitters have no hits to speak of while Christopher Peralta surrendered a solo shot and single through three with three strikeouts. Wandy Cabrera now on for the Gold fourth and is having himself more of an On The Island inning with two walks, two wild pitches and an HBP so far to load the bases with one out.
  19. It sure seems like Marco Dinges is the magic elixir. Carolina was 26-12 after Dinges' final Carolina League game. Since Dinges joined Wisconsin, the Rattlers are 16-6. So, Marco and his 1.002 season-long OPS has enjoyed a 2025 42-18 record in uniform! Awesome pull @Jim Goulart Definitely paid off the cliffhanger in the title.
  20. Yes, the same Mark Canha with a 67 wRC+ this year that can only play LF (where we have Collins 102 wRC+), RF (where we have Frelick 114 wRC+), 1B (where we have Rhys 113 wRC+), or DH (where we have Yelich 106 wRC+). Our backup at those positions Jake Bauers has a 111 wRC+ too (to say nothing of the 0.00 ERA) so Canha wouldn’t be an upgrade over him either.
  21. Logan Henderson surrendered three singles and a double in the first but it only added up to one run with a little help from himself (picking off a runner at 1st) and Eddie Rosario (gunning down a runner at home). Sounds got the run back in the second when EMJ singled, advanced on a groundout, and scored on an Oliver Dunn RBI single.
  22. DSL Gold has been low scoring this year at 3.63 R/G scored and 4.13 R/G allowed. DSL Blue is at 7.38 R/G scored and 6.88 R/G allowed, so maybe you've just been keying in on the Gold games.
  23. DSL Blue currently tied 4-4 in the ninth. Offense has featured four doubles from Angel Gonzalez, Brailyn Antunez, Johanderson Tarazona, and Kegnnalex Seijas. Sixteen year old Steven Duran opened the game with a perfect inning (1 K) in his debut outing. Seventeen year old Merwin Manrique also made his debut and worked around a walk, single and HBP after two outs to retire the sixth man up and record the zero (1 K) in the 8th inning.
  24. DSL Gold pull off the 4-1 victory. Select box highlights include... Christopher Acosta (single, double, stolen base) Kenny Fenelon (single, HBP x2, stolen base x2) Francis Sosa (second HR of season, stole base) Raymond Sarmiento (4.1 IP | 1 R | 3 H | 1 BB | 2 K) Joan Pena (4.0 IP | 0 R | 3 H | 2 BB | 7 K)
  25. He kinda is, but he's also a pretty major regression candidate as the season goes along. 2021 (his current best season) was 144 IP of 67 ERA- | 73 FIP- which shook out to 4.6 rWAR | 4.0 fWAR. The quantity wasn't there, but the run suppression was supported up by the peripherals at 144 K%+ | 109 BB%+ | 71 HR9+ So far this year he is at 77 IP of 67 ERA- | 97 FIP-. The run prevention is still there, but the peripherals have backed up big time at 112 K%+ | 112 BB%+ | 100 HR9+. The main thing saving Freddy so far this year is a redonculous strand rate. From 2022-24 he ran an 86 AVG+ | 105 LOB%+, so he was really hard to get a hit off of helping him run a better than average strand rate. This year he is limiting hits slightly more at an 84 AVG+, but the strand rate has exploded to a 119 LOB%+ that is likely unsustainable. Love Freddy, and he has more than earned an extension, just not sure the Brewers should be paying any pitcher $20M plus for multiple years in their thirties.
