  1. With Wilken/Adams in Biloxi, and Boeve putting up a 141 wRC+ over 289 PAs with the Shuckers last year, I'd guess that he will be Nashville bound.
  2. Timber Rattlers hold on for the win with Patricio Aquino (2 IP | 2 H | 2 K) and Zach Peek (1 IP) covering the last three scoreless frames. Kind of remarkable that they are 11 W - 16 L when the lineup has essentially three above average hitters (Jadher, Burke, Hedbert at 121 to 132 wRC+ entering today), two average-ish guys (Wood & E. Garcia at 96 & 94 wRC+), one struggler (Tayden Hall at 72 wRC+) and everybody else in no man's land between a -2 (Guilarte in 67 PAs) and 40 wRC+ (Blayberg in 7 PAs). Wisco pitchers are essentially Top Three across the board (ERA, WHIP, SO/BB ratio) so they've definitely been the ones keeping them completely out of the cellar. 7-8-9 hitters Alastre, Hall and Guilarte did make some headway for that last group though today combining to go 6 for 10 with two walks, scoring four and driving in three of the TRats runs.
  3. Finishing the math on this, looks like his bonkers walk rate is boosting his OBP around 100 points and his wRC+ by like 50 or so points versus his career rate. Converting those extra 15 ABs would lead to a 204/339/420 triple slash which is more like a 114 OPS+ in the Southern League this year.
  4. & a Matthew Wood single brings Hedbert around to make it 7-3 Wisco for matching four run innings in both the 53214 and 54913 zip codes.
  5. Blake Burke groundout gets another TRats run across, 6-3.
  6. Alastre single, Hall walk, Guilarte single and a Hedbert walk gives Wisco the lead 4-3 bottom of six. Bases loaded, nobody out and a Jadher sac fly stretches the lead to 5-3.
  7. Wilken 2023-24 (678 PA) 225/344/396 (116 wRC+) 14.2 BB% | 26.5 K% | .172 ISO Wilken 2025 (118 PA before today) 205/441/422 (164 wRC+) 27.1 BB% | 25.4 K% | .217 ISO He's definitely walked a lot his whole career, but this year is a whole other level. If he had walked at his 14.2% career rate entering the season he'd have like 17 walks instead of 32. Looking at his outcomes for this year, those extra 15 ABs would shake out to something like one single, one double, one home run, four strikeouts and eight regular outs. Right now maybe the best comp would be along the lines of Patrick Wisdom in that low average, big power, lotsa strikeouts kind of mold.
  8. Dylan Covey picks up the save, but he never actually signed with the Brewers, so NASH loses 5-3.
  9. Yerlin Rodriguez summoned with two on two out in the fourth trying to keep the Wisco deficit at 2-0. RBI single makes it 3-0 but they get the trail runner at 3B to end the inning.
  10. Just following along on GameDay, if those pitch locations are somewhat accurate looks like the HBPs were maybe torso and thigh area?
  11. Luke Adams was plunked for a second time, stayed in the game to run the bases and play the field for a half inning, but Bladimir Restituyo pinch hit for him his next time up.
  12. Seigler & Herron singled, then pulled off the double steal before coming around to score on a Monasterio single to tie it up at 2-2. Carlos Rodriguez the pitcher has gone up nine down since a leadoff single in the 4th, still only at 67 pitches.
  13. Carlos Rodriguez the pitcher has surrendered a pair of runs on three singles, two doubles and a walk over the first four frames. He has just now retired his nombre hermano Carlos Rodriguez the outfielder however for the third time here to open the fifth, so he has that going for him anyway.
  14. With the 2B and HR tonight Wilken’s season tally is up to seven singles, six doubles, and four home runs. With two more bases on ball tonight he’s up to 32 BB / 30 K on the season.
  15. Seigler walks, steals second, then steals third and scores on a throwing error, now 3–1 Nashville.
  16. Tyler Jay (4-3, K, BB), and Easton McGee (L8, 5-3, BB, L9, K) have combined for two scoreless frames. Still 2-1 Sounds with Seigler, Delgado, Hall due up top nine trying to tack on.
  17. Misio comes back out for the sixth and works around a single and walk to put up another zero. Probably done for the day after 92 pitches (55 strikes).
  18. Now we’ve got an Alfaro single (wild pitch) and Seigler RBI single, 2-1 Sounds.
  19. Brock Wilken breaks up the Biloxi shutout with a fourth inning solo shot.
  20. Fourth wasn’t quite so smooth for Holobetz as a base on balls then an all four bases on one swing has Carolina down 3-1.
  21. DeBerry is out for Carolina after surrendering one run over two frames with four singles, an HBP, and four strikeouts. John Holobetz on for the third and goes three up, three down, two strikeouts. Top of the order - Made, Peña, Payne - coming up bottom three trying to break the tie.
  22. Looking at the ACL roster and only three outfielders, but no Frandy LaFond? Thought he had one of the better DSL stat lines outside of the headliner guys at 267/417/419 (138 wRC+) with 15 SB / 4 CS. Definitely better numbers than Handelfry & Paulino so wonder if it’s maybe an injury situation? Other thing that stood out to me is that Jadyn Fielder is the only USA and 2004 born position player. Freider Rojas & Gery Holguin are 2005 and the other ten are either 2006 (four) or 2007 (six).
  23. Made walk, to second on a Peña groundout, to third on a Payne single, to home on a Di Turi sac fly evening the score at one each.
  24. Zona Crew holds on to win 7-6 in their first game action of the year. In addition to the aforementioned Juan Ortuno grand slam it looks like offensive highlights included doubles from Jorge Quintana and Engel Paulino, plus a two hit one walk game from Mike Boeve. DL Hall worked around a pair of walks while striking out three over two scoreless frames.
  25. Hedbert’s hot streak has boosted him to the best batting line on the TRats with his 130 wRC+ just edging out Burke (127 wRC+) and Jadher (124 wRC+). Extra encouraging to see him rocking a 12.8 BB% to start the year versus a 6.9 BB% over his first 977 professional PAs.
