    Seigler must be feeling alright. 102 MPH single, stole second, to third on an error, and scored the first Sounds run on a Nick Kahle RBI single to make it a 2-1 ballgame after two innings.

    Misio threw 97 IP last year. I'd imagine they don't want him throwing much more than 130-140 IP this year (he's already at 52). I'd guess when he does get the call that they'll be similarly cautious with how many innings he throws and batters he faces just like they do with the other young arms.

    Misio walked 12 guys in his first 18.2 IP and really only has six appearances / 33.2 IP / one calendar month of dominating performance under his belt at this point. I've got no problem letting him stack a few more good outings to show whatever changes he has made are sustainable before throwing him to the wolves in MLB.

    Sure that would be more exciting, but for Wilken its questionable whether that would be the best thing for his long term development. Entering the month he was hitting .164 in AA. Not sure a three week heater no matter how scorching is enough to promote him straight away to MLB. I don't doubt Misio could step into the MLB rotation and perform right now, but I also don't see the need to call him up immediately. The rotation is doing fine without him (5th in ERA- | 6th in rWAR since 0401) and there are a number of veteran arms coming back that are going to need those starts if we want to get anything for them at the deadline. Let guys like Rodriguez, Priester, Henderson and Patrick who are already on the 40 Man bounce back and forth until it sorts itself out. Jacob's first four starts he walked 12 guys in 18.2 IP. It's only been in his last five starts (7 BB in 30.2 IP) that he's appeared to have turned a corner. I'm fine with letting him build on that recent success for awhile longer then adding him to the 40 Man and calling him up after the deadline.

    So far he’s got 11 HR, 41 BB/HBP and 47 K in 176 PAs for a whopping 56.25 3TO%. For comparison Rob Deer was at a 49.78% for his career, Adam Dunn came in at 50.96%, Schwarber is sitting on 49.44%. Even the mighty Branyan could only muster a 51.35%.

    If this is No Man’s Land where are the Pirates? Or the Rockies? That feels overly dire to me. With the young talent in place and on its way I’d say we’re closer to the Waiting Room even if they do finish with their first losing full season in almost a decade. How are they not fully committing to a youth movement? They’ve got the 5th youngest position player group in MLB. Eight of their top ten batters by PAs so far this year are 27 or younger under long term control. Last year Contreras, Chourio, Ortiz, Frelick, Turang, Mitchell, and Perkins combined for 20 WAR. This year they are on pace for like 11 or 12. Young players (& Yelich) are the main cause(s) of the team’s struggles to this point. Between various injuries to Quero, Black, Boeve and Wilken last year, plus Pratt still being incredibly young (one of only five players 20 or younger in AA) none of their upper level prospects are really in a position to help the MLB team at the moment.

    They have the youngest position players on the Arizona Complex League. They lead the league in OPS by 76 points. They have the youngest position players in the Carolina League. The lead the league in OPS by 61 points. They have the youngest position players in the Southern League. They lead the league in OPS by 48 points.

    I get it’s frustrating when only three guys in the lineup are putting up good ABs on the regular, but I’m still enjoying & am super invested in the season personally. The Orioles are a perfect reminder that things could be a whole lot worse than they currently are. My preference would still be for the Crew to turn it around, go on a run and get into the postseason, but if they don’t they’re also in a great position to sell some pieces at the deadline and try to kick off another improbable run of seven straight seasons with 86+ wins (hopefully featuring more playoff success this go around).

    Patricio Aquino went 3 BB | 4 K over three scoreless to open the game for Wisco. Dikember Sanchez in for the fourth and works around a leadoff walk and stolen bag to put up a zero (1 K).

    Eduardo Garcia walked, stole second, went to third on a Blake Burke single and scored on a Marco Dinges sac fly in the first. Hebert Perez went deep in the second for another TRats run. Then in the fourth Hedbert singled, Daniel Guilarte walked, Jadher Areinamo delivered an RBI single and then Eduardo Garcia went deep with a three run shot to make it 6-0 Wisco.

    Black has four rehab games on the complex so far and only played nine games at 3B last year. Boeve has only DHed in his nine rehab games and hasn’t played 2B since 16 games in 2023. Not sure the Brewers would rush either to MLB so soon after injury, especially at such demanding positions.

    Think rehabbing veterans will have first dibs on rotation spots until the trade deadline. Ideally guys like Civale, Quintana, and Cortes (I think Ashby/Hall will be in relief roles once ready) will get healthy and show enough between now and then that they can be dealt for some kind of whatever at the deadline. After that Peralta, Woodruff (don't think he'll be dealt either way) and some combo of Misio, Henderson, Patrick, Priester, and Rodriguez becomes the rotation for the last couple months.

    Yeah, looks like he was a little amped up getting some extra juice that first inning before settling in around 92-93 last couple frames. Either way, hard to argue with those kind of results from a pitcher who doesn’t turn 19 for five more months.

    Ethan Dorchies on in the 6th and he’s working mostly with a 93-95 MPH four seamer. Dropped in a couple 84 MPH sliders, a 92 MPH sinker and a 90 MPH cutter. Worked around a leadoff single and stolen base to put up a zero with one K and two fly outs.

    Jadyn Fielder greeted the new Royals pitcher by ambushing a first pitch 96 MPH fastball for a double, then advanced to third on a balk. Tyler Black has walked putting runners on the corners one down for Quero who gets hit with an 81 MPH curveball to load the bases for Jorge Quintana. & we’ve got a mound visit.

    Dubanewicz strikes out the side in the fifth, dropping in a few 84-86 MPH change ups too. Of his ten batted balls so far he’s at nine grounders and one line drive.

    Dubanewicz goes four up three down in the fourth with a single and strikeout. 52 pitches (31 strikes) so far.

    Not much action for the offense but some hard hit balls through the third include a 107 MPH double and 106 MPH groundout from Tyler Black, a 110 MPH Jeferson Quero groundout, and a 109 MPH Juan Ortuno groundout.

    GameDay has the full on StatCast experience tonight. Looks like Dubanewicz is working with a sinker/four seam in the 92-94 MPH range, a 78-80 MPH curve, and a 80-82 MPH slider. Went three up three down three groundouts in the third.

    Dubanewicz worked around a pair of walks in the first, but gave up a run in the second surrendering a double and triple. Three of his six outs have come via strikeout.

    Kind of interesting looking at Turang as a point of comparison for Pratt. The pandemic delayed Brice’s AA debut until his age 21 season, but he hit 264/329/385 (100 wRC+) with an 8.8 BB% | 15.0 K% over 320 PAs before being promoted to AAA to finish out the year. Cooper is in his age 20 season and has put up a pretty similar 252/337/388 (113 wRC+) triple slash with a 9.4 BB% | 15.3 K% over 170 PAs to open the year.
