  1. Yelich grew up playing 1B/3B. Woah solvdd! Two, in fact.
  2. Probably, yes.
  3. Would anyone trade anything of meaningful value for TT? Seems unlikely..
  4. Money. Money prevents the Brewers from extending Chourio at any other time. Plus, if Chourio has a few good years, he might want to wait until free agency. Imagine buying Amazon stock for $1 in 2002. You can still buy Amazon stock now but for a lot more money. There is risk and upside.
  5. Does Gavin Lux mean anything for us?
  6. Why would we want to extend Adames? Adames OPS has gone from .886 to .756 to .717 over past three seasons. I doubt his age 30+ seasons will meaningfully improve.
  7. Rowdy was alright until he wasn’t. 2021 was good, 2022 above average.
  8. There is nothing boring about acquiring Jake Bauers.
  9. Have the Brewers ever spent meaningful free agent money on a first baseman? Sean Berry in 1999?
  10. Do we really want to extend Adames? Most people barely tolerate him at his current contract value.
  11. Going into next season, I’m not sure if the Cubs are better than the Brewers at any position, as of this moment. Plus, I would rather have Milwaukee’s rotation and bullpen, too. Upon further reflection, Nico Horner at 2B is much better than Turang/Monasterio.
  12. CC is now a big-market manager, so understandably, he is now valuable. [half blue]
  13. We could conceivably receive better contributions from every offensive position in 2024 compared to 2023.
  14. If we keep Burnes, we are probably the favorites to win the NL Central?
  15. Matthew Trueblood believes the 2023 Cubs would have won the NL Central if they had CC as their manager. Even in a vacuum, that seems far-fetched to me. link
  16. This seems like a moment when we should agree to disagree on definition of market rates. 🙂 I wonder what the response has been from Cubs fans? Excitement, I assume.
  17. For a manager to be worth $8 million per year, they would need to contribute multiple wins above ‘replacement level.’ Do we believe CC’s presence is worth multiple wins compared to how David Ross or another manager would have led the Cubs or Brewers?
  18. If someone pays $800 for a specific steak, that doesn't mean market rate for steak is $ 800.
  19. I disagree. If 29 out of 30 clubs are paying their managers far less than $8 million per year, we cannot say the market rate is $8 million for Craig Counsell.
  20. Is Brett Favre ultimately joining the Vikings a parallel to CC to Cubs? I’d like the think Packer fans have forgiven Brett.
  21. Definitely. It is not like politicians need legitimate reasons to get cold feet or to grandstand. MA has hundreds of millions of dollars of reasons to control the narrative.
  22. I wonder if CC takes the high road in his press conference or dishes dirt?
