    He did have a lot of middle middle location, though. At least, in the early innings that I was paying attention to.

    A lot of middle middle location from Burnes in his first inning. He has not performed well on Opening Days. Brewers win the trade.

    42 starts from Houser, Teheran, Lauer and Junk 32 starts from Burnes 11 starts from Woodruff That’s a lot of turns in the rotation to fill but most of these innings will be at better than replacement level. 2023 starts

    We can legitimately be better at every offensive position in 2024.

    I also don’t recall our starters getting chased before the 5th inning very often in 2023.

    Good point, Saint Louis could also regress due to age and injuries.

    We didn’t have Woodruff for most of last year. We lost Burnes (3.5 WAR) and Williams (2.6 WAR) is hurt. At a minimum, they will be replaced with replacement level production. Plus, Hoskins, and other improvements on offense should minimize regression.

    I guess I do not see the meaningful external improvements made by other teams in the division. Aside from the Reds adding Brent Suter. Brewers added Hoskins, which could be a huge improvement. All teams in the division will be relying on youth. Milwaukee’s prospects have just as good of chance to improve or regress as other team’s prospects.

    88 wins No way did Milwaukee regress 15 wins compared to last year.

    Rea is officially listed as game 3 starter for Sunday. Hogg said Hall or opener for game 2 but nothing formally announced. If Junis is hurt, I suppose that leaves Ross for home opener. You’re right that Peralta would be on ‘normal rest’ for home opener, too. That seems unlike the Brewers to do but maybe with injuries?

    Strzelecki still has an option remaining and could appeal to clubs in search of bullpen depth since he wouldn’t require an active roster spot

    We can finally redeem ourselves for releasing a reliever that ultimately produced a career ERA+ of 95 to this point.

    Brewers will be better this year at: 1B 2B 3B SS (probably) CF RF I am optimistic the rotation and bullpen is deep enough to be effective. Yelich in LF with 3.6 WAR again seems fine.
