  1. …nine run lead, in fact. A devastating loss for Cincinnati.
  2. Reds lose to Pittsburgh after leading 9-0. Giants and Padres also lose. Marlins travel to New York and Pittsburgh after today. Pirates have been pesky.
  3. Unusual to pitch Tellez but I think CC did the right thing. We have 216 more outs to get before the postseason. I especially worry about Payamps’ workload this year.
  4. Could Caratini be emergency 1B if Santana got hurt? I’m having difficulty identifying a scenario where Tellez makes sense. If an injury to Santana is serious, then Tellez is a roster replacement.
  5. Best I can tell, Jesus Luzardo would be on full rest today. His last start against Milwaukee did not go well for the Marlins. I did not realize that 37-year old, Johnny Cueto, is also a Marlin and sometimes spot starts.
  6. What are the odds that Brian Anderson makes the playoff roster for some reason?
  7. I wrestle with wanting the Marlins to be successful to end the season with the Brewers needing to stay sharp and clinch.
  8. The Cubs are on the losing end of tiebreakers against the D-backs, Reds, Marlins and Phillies, giving all of those teams the advantage if they were to finish the season in a tie with Chicago. source
  9. Would love some Pirate insurance runs here
  10. Agreed. Strongly prefer not Cubs. Goodness knows how Chicago fans would show up at an AmFam playoff game.
  11. I think Gasser will be good for rhyming next year.
  12. Three July 14 Reds July 9 Reds April 16 Padres
  13. Brewers have 65 losses and Dodgers have 57 losses. If Dodgers go 4-10 and Brewers go 12-1 down the stretch then Milwaukee overtakes Los Angeles. Dodgers own tiebreaker based on head-to-head record. It’s possible 🤷‍♂️
  14. No doom and gloom 🙂 Just a different timeframe for head-to-head matchups between Milwaukee and Saint Louis. Should be a fun game going against Wainwright. I hope Brewers can wrap up division soon so our 34-37 year olds can get a few off days before playoffs.
  15. Peralta started the 18-1 game earlier this year. His pitching line was 5.1 IP, 6 H, 5 BB, 4 K and 6 ER.
  16. Brewers are 20-24 against Cardinals since 2021. There was also the time in May when Saint Louis beat Milwaukee 18-1. https://stathead.com/tiny/2CtVn
  17. I assume we will go with opener/Rea and Houser for games two and three?
  18. This week: Cubs host Pirates and Rockies Reds host the Twins and Pirates Giants travel to Arizona and Los Angeles Marlins host the Mets and Brewers This doesn’t seem like the week for Giants to gain in the standings
  19. Cubs currently out of the playoffs by virtue of the Marlins holding the head-to-head tiebreaker.
  20. Got my personal best of 70 rarity score today. I am kicking myself because I thought Casey Kotchman was an Angel and Indian but didn’t have the courage to choose him.
  21. Marlins have 15 more GIDP than Brewers this year. Brewers are second in MLB https://stathead.com/tiny/eEJDb
