  1. Weird trade. I get that the data seems to indicate he has been better than his results this season, but even a return to his previous levels isn’t exactly ideal.
  2. Maybe I am wrong, but I thought he was a minor league free agent if he wasn’t protected. He was one of the ones I was referring to with that comment. I absolutely think he should be added.
  3. I get the overall sentiment and don’t mean to nitpick, but this is the year any roster crunch would affect protecting a guy about to hit minor league free agency. Unless I am forgetting someone, I don’t know that the Brewers have anyone who might get chosen in the rule 5.
  4. It’s kind of wild that you could make a case the three best rookie starters in baseball this year so far were all in the Brewers system last year if you give Henderson the nod over Warren despite the limited outings.
  5. It is kind of weird with Burke. If you had shown me just his Fangraphs batted ball profile (basically line drive/ground ball/fly ball and left/center/right) and told me it was a Timber Rattler, my response would have been, “Jadher Areinamo is hitting a few more grounders this year.”
  6. That Wisconsin has even managed to be middling is honestly pretty impressive. As of right now, you could make an impressive high-A staff just from guys on the IL (Letson, Knoth, Rodriguez, Galindez and Woodward in the rotation backed by Corniel, Wagoner, Rudy, Jimenez, Maldonado, etc.)
  7. It isn't just in A-ball either. I count 15 in the ACL before the Bravo promotion and I think the two DSL teams have 14 and 13 respectively.
  8. Last I checked, there were 33 teenage pitchers among all 30 Complex League teams who had thrown at least 10 innings with a K/BB rate of 2.5 or better. The Brewers had eight.
  9. I know Longenhagen bumped Devanney all the way up to 10th in the Royals system based on a swing change he made this season.
  10. So, umm, could Carlos Done be another breakout from last year’s class after losing last season to injury.
  11. Anyone else notice Rangel is listed as a catcher on the bench? DSL glitch or position change?
  12. That is a pretty solid Rangers lineup that Mercado and Carra just shut down. Four singles, two walks, nine strikeouts, no extra base hits, no earned runs. That will play. That will definitely play.
  13. Gillis trying to mimic Priester by winning without striking almost anyone out.
  14. I believe that takes him up to 75 since the start of the 2023 season. That is crazy. You know what is crazier? He doesn't even lead the organization in the percent of plate appearances hit over that span.
  15. Lot of double plays, but that is bound to happen when most of the at bats start with a runner on first base.
  16. Each team scores two in the first and three in the second. Extrapolating out, this ACL game is going to head to extras 54-54.
  17. They have the fewest walks in the ACL while throwing the most innings with the league’s youngest staff. That is … astounding.
  18. It’s like Anderson got promoted and he decided to replace all the production himself. Since starting 0-7, he has posted a 1.230 OPS with as many walks as strikeouts.
  19. I know he has struggled at high-A, but you can toss Alastre in there too for his Carolina production.
  20. Does anyone have a scouting report on Montero? It seems like he has flipped a lot of the ground balls he hit last year into line drives, His batted ball distribution doesn’t look like your typical 6-2 corner infielder, but it is tough to argue with the results of the spray line drives to all fields approach so far.
  21. If I remember correctly, the issue with Dinges’ arm wasn’t so much strength, but accuracy. Has that improved as the season has gone on?
  22. I was shocked by how few pitchers were on the ACL squad, but the strong performances by a lot of them have made it work so far.
  23. Yep. 19:3 K:BB ratio, with all 3 coming in one inning? That’ll play.
  24. I don’t know if this factors in at all or if they would just bring more DSL guys stateside like they did with Flores, but their ACL roster is surprisingly small. If the pitchers were struggling like last year they probably would have already needed reinforcements and the bench isn’t much deeper.
  25. Liked seeing Hardin so high on the list along with some of the other recent comments on him. When older later round picks do well at low or high A there is always that, “Is he legit or just more experienced?” question.
