  1. I had the TV and the livestream on and had to mute the TV because it was consistently two picks behind.
  2. So that whole Ike Irish goes early on a deal thing really didn't pan out.
  3. The Fangraphs writeup had a "well, I don't know what the Brewers are going to do so here is a guy who should go in this range" feel to me.
  4. There legitimately could be just two more pitchers chosen between now and the Brewers' pick.
  5. There are definitely ways to justify the pick, but it does kind of feel like the Angels are just leaning into it at this point.
  6. I’m thinking, based on absolutely nothing, that we start below slot hitter/prep pitcher. Maybe something like Conrad/Cervantes.
  7. Interesting Misiorowski comps being put on prep arms now. I think I saw one on Miguel Sime as well. I am skeptical, but if the Brewers think they can harness some of the stuff, they certainly don’t shy away from prep pitching.
  8. The Brewers certainly have draft tendencies in a whole draft view (Likely to finish in the top 3 if not first in number of high schoolers picked. Tons of pitching and very little college hitting after round 5, The occasional "Is he a catcher?" pick.). And they will likely exit Day 1 with more hitters than pitchers simply from a logistics standpoint (the whole avoiding college bats after round 5 thing). As far as any first round tendencies, though, their collection of recent picks seems to indicate something akin to what the old TV show "Sports Night" claimed was Napoleon's battle plan: Show up and see what happens. Couple questions for people more plugged in on specific draft prospects than I am: Murf Gray was in the top 30 on Fangraphs' preseason list and even his MLB writeup says that he had momentum after his performance in the Cape Cod League. It also says that he didn't carry that momentum into the 2025 season, but the stats certainly look good. Was it a not performing well against the better teams he faced thing? Otherwise I'm not getting that comment. Second, anyone know any good "Is he a catcher?" type guys from this year? Just looking at stats (dangerous when it comes to the draft, I know), it seemed like Eddie Madrigal and Lucas Steele were two possibilities, but one thing I read made it sound like knee injuries ended Madrigal's catching days for good and Steele apparently said he is headed back to Auburn.
  9. Who? There should be enough space to add Crow from the MLB free agent list. Areinamo would have to crush AA in the second half to get picked. Fitzpatrick’s results are great this year, but he hasn’t been considered a top prospect.
  10. Martinez could force their hand with a big finish, but otherwise it is probably just Crow. I would like to see them try to bring back Cornielle and Garcia, but I doubt they get 40-man spots, unless Cornielle gets moved to the Nashville bullpen and is lights out to close the year.
  11. Yah, I am actually sort of relieved. When I heard dislocated kneecap, my mind flashed to the Tank Dell injury.
  12. Adams is just such a hard comp statistically. I used your cut-offs (.270, 12%, .450) plus limiting the age to 23-under for double-A seasons since 2011. It came back with 23 players. His swinging strike rate (7.4%) was easily first, with only Roman Anthony also breaking 9%, and only barely. His K rate is second to Cody Bellinger. His pull rate is second to Wilken. His pop-up rate is first by a mile. Other ones who fell into this bucket and had some areas of similarity with Wilken included Michael Busch and Cavan Biggio. Busch with better ability to play 3rd would be a good outcome for Wilken.
  13. I could be wrong, but is the question with this injury usually if any of the knee ligaments get torn along with it? Or am I thinking of a different one?
  14. Thanks, forgot that was the year Walling signed.
  15. Not Adams or O’Rae, but I think they were the only prep picks that signed that year.
  16. So, I am on vacation. Finally get a chance to check baseball and see the game Misiorowski had. Eventually move over to minor league thread, see a Dinges homer highlight, check to make sure I didn’t click one of the threads from earlier in the week. Not a perfect night across the organization, but the highs were pretty high.
  17. Basically he has been saying don’t trust the home run total because Biloxi is the one park in the league that is friendly to power hitters.
  18. I had him in the teens in part because Longenhagen at Fangraphs has me paranoid about his significant home/road splits.

  21. This isn’t news, per se, but look who is his team’s representative on the Louisville Slugger tour.
  22. At the time he was traded for we didn’t. No Quintana, no Priester, Patrick was minor league depth and Henderson and Misiorowski were looked at as needing more work in the minors.
  23. Hoskins’ signing was hailed at the time and matched the Brewers’ needs to a T. Cain’s deal would probably be remembered differently if it was 4/80 instead of 5/80. Even with never again hitting the heights of 2018 and taking the pandemic year off, he was still arguably the third best center fielder in baseball from 2018-2021. Cortes was coming off a season in which he was arguably one of the top 40 starters in baseball (32nd in fWAR). Miley was a consistent FIP beater in the second half of his career, so that might not be the best argument. Sanchez always confused me, but on a one year deal it wasn’t completely out of expected price range given his prior season. Just not where I would have spent money.
  24. Before any of ejections showed up, seeing Yerlin walked the lead-off hitter brought the McNulty’s drinking again promo for “The Wire” to mind. You just knew it probably wasn’t going to end well.
