  1. What time do you go to bed? Or do you live in Europe? 😜
  2. I think Stone is much more realistic for Adames than Sheehan is. If we want Sheehan, I think we'd have to throw Devin into the deal as well. FWIW, the trade value simulator site has Willy with an 11.1M Surplus value, and a Stone/Pages package at 37M surplus value. So, it's very possible that the Dodgers would even turn that offer down as well?
  3. Oh....I was confusing Frasso with Stone. Yes, you are right - Frasso is out with a shoulder surgery, so we probably don't want any part of that. Ferris is a pretty damn impressive pitching prospect though, so you could do A LOT worse in getting him back in a package for Adames. But, I'm sure Arnold would be looking for someone that is a bit closer to being a big league contributor.
  4. If this offer was already on the table from the Dodgers, I can almost guarantee that the trade would have been done already. I can't see anyway possible we're getting a package of essentially two Top 100 prospects in return for Adames. I'd be tickled pink if we even got one of those guys back in a deal for him.
  5. I still think we sign one of the remaining 3B FA's on a 1-year deal. Would love for it to be Chapman, but that's probably still unlikely. Maybe it's an Urshela, Escobar, Segura or Moose type signing? I know that might not be an earth-shattering type signing, but it might then make it easier for us to trade Adames to another team that needs a SS before the season gets under way.
  6. Well, if we decide to keep him for the entire season and he doesn't put up good numbers....then I think there is a real possibility that we don't give him the QO that would then give us the comp pick if he signs elsewhere next winter.
  7. Yeah, I think sometimes we under value our own prospects. Black seems to be a legit Top 50 prospect by most (if not all) the major evaluators. I don't think we want to be trading him for a guy that currently has a negative value with a big contract, coming off of a shoulder injury.
  8. I think I heard recently that the Jays had no interest in moving Manoah right now, and that he was really working hard this winter to get things back on track this season. But, maybe that could have been your usual "GM Speak?" Just like we heard that Arnold was not interested in moving Burnes at all this winter - although that situation was certainly different with the controllable years left on both of these guys being vastly different.
  9. I’m with you 100%. No way am I giving up both Willy and Devin for one arm, and doesn’t matter how good that one arm is. I’d be good with Sheehan and someone like Wroblewski….or maybe a River Ryan.
  10. I like Sheehan, but we better get more for both Adames and Williams than one guy. If Sheehan blows out his arm, we gave away two of our best players for nothing.
  11. How about we replace the Royals with the Phillies for Williams? Could we send them Williams and either Mitchell or Wiemer for Mick Abel and Griff McGarry? With the above moves then, you'd have Frasso, Abel and McGarry as three additional stud pitching prospects to add to the organization. Sign me up!
  12. Fair enough. What about Jorge Soler for DH? Anyone have interest in him at the DH spot....or does that create too much of a logjam then with all of the OF's that we already have on the roster (thinking that we might need to use the DH spot to get them more AB's throughout the season)? And, if we did have any interest in him at all - is there a possibility that he could be had on a similar type deal structure that we gave Hoskins? Or, is someone eventually going to give him a multi-year deal? It's just a bit crazy to me that there are still so many quality players available in the FA market, as we are just days away from February. Gotta figure that there will be a lot of guys inking deals over the next few weeks here, right?
  13. Someone is going to give Chapman a multi-year deal though, right? Or, do we think that there is a small possibility that we could get him for a similar deal that we just gave Hoskins? A "prove it" type deal that would allow him to opt-out after one year if he rebounds with a better offensive year in '24 - or he can return for a 2nd year if he still doesn't think the market is going to be there for him next offseason.
  14. Is there any chance at all that Chapman could be had for a 1-year deal (or a deal similar to what we just gave Hoskins)? Or, is someone going to give him a 3-4 year deal, and it's just taking longer than expected?
  15. Soooo......do we know yet if we will or won't be able to make a QO to Rhys after his first year? I guess I don't know how that works with an opt-out. It would be HUGE if we can at least get a comp pick after year 1 if he does indeed choose to opt out - which I think we are all expecting him to do if he does stay healthy and put up good numbers this season.
  16. For Freddy? Oh man....I'm not sure if I'm taking Basallo back as the centerpiece in a deal involving Freddy. I think I'd need Mayo, Ortiz, Povich and Horvath coming back if I'm giving up Freddy to the O's.
  17. Ohhh......I've clearly been out of the loop this afternoon! Had no idea! OK, good to know. Glad he's staying in the AL, and not going to the Cubs.
  18. Why wouldn't the Yankees just go sign Hader, instead of having to trade prospects away for Williams? It's not like the Yankees are strapped for $$.
  19. Please get desperate now O's.....and divert yourself from your normal strategies!
  20. I really didn't track Volpe's rookie season that closely. What is the overall consensus from those that did? I see that his overall WAR was 3.3, but then I took a look at some of his offensive numbers and I was less impressed. Again though...hard to put too much stock in a rookie season, especially for a kid playing under the bright lights of NY. Would the Yankees consider him "untouchable" in any deal?
  21. I mean....sign me up for this deal right now. Would seem to be a win/win type deal for both teams. Might be a lot for the Phils to give up in terms of prospect capital, but it also feels like their window to win is right now - and they probably need to do something big here to compete with the Dodgers, while also staying ahead of the Braves in their own division. Getting Painter and Abel would give us two stud pitching prospects to build around for our rotation in the years to come. You would just hope that one of them "hits" and becomes a legit ace in 2-3 years. Then, Aiden Miller would give us a high-upside corner IF prospect in a few years to add to that next "wave" of prospects coming up with Wilken, Lara, Pratt, Bitonti, Knoth, etc.
  22. Love seeing us get three of the Top 50 international prospects again this year - including the #12 ranked kid. Also love seeing us going after these athletic SS's that can also grow into different positions a few years down the road.
  23. What do we think it's going to take to sign Paxton? With his recent injury history, I can't imagine a team is going to give him more than a 1-year deal, right? While I'd love to take a flyer on someone like Paxton, I'm guessing a team that is more desperate (with deeper pockets) is going to offer him more $$ than what we'd be willing to risk on a guy like this.
  24. Yeah, I've been thinking about this as well over the past few weeks. IF we were to trade Burnes and maybe even Adames - you'd think at least that we'd then be able to be much more active in pursuing some of the available FA's. Not sure how in love I am with many of these available FA's this year, but if we could get potential impact MLB-ready players in return for Burnes and Adames and then go out and get someone like Jimenez, Hoskins, Rosario, etc.....I think we'd have the ability to field a competitive team in the NL Central - even as we continue to try to develop some of these younger guys on the roster (Chourio, Black, Sal, Mitchell, etc.).
