  1. I really hate to beat the dead horse, and it ended up (Luckily?) working out for him, but when you have 60 yards passing on the day from a HIDEOUS QB performance, how do you kick that FG at the end? You may never get another chance to get that close to the endzone let alone FG range in OT....
  2. I can understand your reasoning but as a Buckeye fan I thought the tougher 'win' would at Kohl, especially watching the poor 2nd half the other night at home vs Clemson.. I see someone earlier in this thread was thinking the Badgers could still make Sweet 16 this year. That is looking doubtful.. It's only Dec 3, but the NCAAs in general look pretty doubtful at this point. Considering the streak and expectations we have, is it harsh to call this an unacceptable season if it ends the way its trending?
  3. You're boggling your mind over 2 million in INCENTIVES when the Brewers are a 35 million dollar payroll operation? I'd hate to see your thoughts on a reliever signed for 10 mil a year guaranteed. Stearns low ball offers Hughes around a million then signs Jeffress for 1.75 and 2.2 in extra incentives. It's truly is an insult to Hughes when he was arguably one of the best relievers on the team. Look at the track record with him and Jeffress, Hughes is better. And he pitched in a lot more high leverage and difficult situations than Jeffress did last year. You are correct 5 million is pennies to a team and 10 million is around a buck. Jeffress will have a nice 4.5 era with a whip of 1.40 so I guess that's worth just over 2 million. And who is to say Hughes doesn't end up back in Milwaukee next year as well? You realize the reason we got Hughes in the first place was because Pittsburgh didn't want to pay him 2+ in arbitration too right? They went with Jeffress initially IMO because they are roughly a wash except JJ is younger and throws harder. JJ was just willing to be more team friendly. Or maybe...just maybe Stearns has his eye set on bigger fish in that pen than either of them and is saving the $ where he can. Ever consider that?
  4. Why am I not even mad about it? Guess i'm just to the point in life where i've seen enough of this rodeo to not get worked up anymore... 1) have a good season 2) give you hope 3) come out and get shredded early putting you in a hole 4) climb nearly out of it and then get shattered just short of the finish line. It was over when they didn't call that penalty to offset (convenient). Wasn't a point in even running those last three plays.
  5. Horrible throw. Can't give his team any momentum. Chalk up a dropped slant route and an OT false start in the red zone as well. I'm not a Hornibrook guy but there's much bigger issues right now tonight IMO.

  7. Yes please
  8. Hornibrook doesn't play defense last I checked and Hornibrook isn't missing easy tackles that lead to massive touchdown runs. His INT was unacceptable but other than that (and even that left OSU with a LONG field), I don't see what the problem is. Russ Wilson would be behind 21-7 or 21-14 right now too. And Hornibrook made Fumagali drop that pass too I assume?
  9. I've been eying Harley Davidson down here as a tax seller play. Also ROKU on a pullback as a longer term timeframe play, i'd like to see it be supported a bit longer and earnings trend continue before taking the plunge. Much higher risk play with more upside. I hope you folks that bought ETH cheap are still holding.......i'd definitely have derisked myself some by now but wow.
  10. What a joy it is to be able to think about this game for the next several days and get the dumpsterfire known as the Packers coaching staff off the mind.
  11. Who kicks that FG? A stone would be smarter than that. I can't stand these coaches anymore and it really makes it difficult for me to get any sense of enjoyment out of watching them play. Same goes for the drive after Bell's fumble. Come out and pass 3 times and punt. 0:13 off the clock. Doink. I should be encouraged by Hundley's game tonight, but instead am sitting here stewing on the various clock management, playcalling, and coaching decisions this guy made....again.
  12. This is the case with basically every free agent, ever. Yes, Arrieta presents slightly more risk as a pitcher and as one with declining velocity...but who are we saving the money for? If not Arrieta this year, we'll be thinking about signing some other 3.75 FIP/ERA guy for $100 million next year, pushing the contract burden a year further down the road. Except that by next year, in theory we'll have Anderson, Davies, Nelson, Hader, Woodruff, and Burnes as established guys in the rotation with Ortiz and Peralta waiting in the wings. None of those guys will be expensive, and they can all be every bit as successful as Arrieta will be going forward. If everything breaks right, we'll have to figure out which guy or guys to trade to clear space. If one or two guys fail, well I have eight names listed and five rotation spots. And every one of the guys I listed has had significant success in the upper levels of the minors, and therefore they aren't as likely to fail. We really shouldn't be targeting anyone on more than a 2 year deal with the pitching we have on the way. I think alot of folks are fooling themselves thinking Hader is definitely moving to the rotation. He's way more valuable doing just what he did for us at this point than creating another mediocre starter. Come the second half of the year if his results are still pressing the issue then MAYBE consider it. Hard to envison a AA guy being called an "established" rotation guy at this point too ain't it? The more good bodies the better IMO, Arrieta isn't the same type of player these bums like Suppan were
  13. Are the standards that low that Joe Flacco makes our defense look "half bad?" He had a season high completion %age by a fair margin yesterday lol. Their offense is basically what the Gophers did @ Northwestern this past weekend.
  14. They are hiddddeous.
  15. Bird is gonna be good. He is their plans for 1B.
  16. Who is to say MM is above anyone else here? His playcalling is downright despicable and if THIS is what we have in "I HAVE THREE YEARS INVESTED IN BRETT HUNDLEY AND TWO IN CALLAHAN" it is astounding how he has made a living off Rodgers and Favre's backs. I like Hundley and think there's something there, but wow has he been unprepared and wow has MM's handling of the offense been bad. Fire them both if something doesn't change in my opinion.
  17. In this scenario UW most definitely drops to #11. All about the $$
  18. The only conceivable reason I can see why Henson has been playing recently is trying to showcase him, so maybe there's legs to rumors. He is just terrible and I don't know why he's still here.
  19. Not at all. Unload the wallet on Yu Darvish/Jake Arrieta or focus on controllable talent / our minors. Quit dancing around what we need and go after it or don't bother at all.
  20. If you wanted your piece it was Sonny Gray or Quintana. NO MORE older FA starters please, find a controllable young arm via trade/FA or don't even bother.
  21. His dad just died, every major sport or basketball publication has him as an MVP candidate, he had arguably his best game of his career, and had a steal/dunk/block sequence that lead directly to them winning the game, and people in Wisconsin are really excited about basketball. It's not embarrassing at all. It is when they are loudly distracting him out when he's trying to shoot free throws to win a game. Didn't seem to bother Kobe Bryant for 15 years while he shot FT. Why must folks be debbie downers anytime something positive happens with a team in WI not named the Packers?
  22. What I find interesting is that MM made multiple references to having "three years invested" in Hundley. Three years invested and you get 12/25, 87 yards, and a pick. I mean, I realize he's not the starter, but if after three years, that's what you got, you need to look at other options. What do you expect when you have a defense like this? Did the Saints have a play today that went for less than 5 yards? Combine that atrocity with WR's that can't get open and you have a dumpsterfire. I'm glad Hundley is smart enough to throw it away rather than force the issue. Nelson, Adams, and Cobb need to get open and Bennett needs to stop being a fat waste of cash, if that's even possible for him. What a failure letting Cook go for this guy. I'm not sure how many times the horse has to be beaten that Capers has to go, i'm pretty sure the horse is skin and pulverized bones on the ground about a millimeter thick by now. I think "Nitro package" means that the poop just flows even faster than it would in a normal defensive formation.
  23. Let it rip. Favre would.
  24. lol, yeah I do agree with this but I also am on the side of the fence that believes Kaep should be on some time, somewhere. Pretty ridiculous (to me) to blackball a guy like they have done. He had a job in Baltimore until his girlfriend posted pictures of the owner being akin to a slave owner. At this point nobody is at fault but himself. I'm quite excited to see what Hundley is, as much as i'd like to see Favre out there. I think if he had a good enough OL he could still sling it around the yard with the best of em.
