  1. I agree with you. I used the wrong word by just stating "rebuild." It really is a "re-set," "re-tool" or soft "re-build." If the Brewers traded Burnes and Williams and got the proper return, I see no reason the Brewers couldnt be a contender in 2025 under the new playoff system.
  2. Counsel is long gone. It appears he wants paid and/or wants to win and beleives the Brewers are about to start a rebuild. If the Brewers wanted to pay him $5 million+ I think they easily could have inked a deal before now. I am 100% fine with it, as I feel like Counsell has been checked out for a while. Hopefully the Brewers can get Seitzer or Vogt.
  3. This was a "meh" signing with limited downside. I think they gave him like $4 million. Unfortunate that he didnt play better. But whatever. One year deal, not a lot of money.... With Monasterio and Donaldon on the roster he was really expendable. With Mitchell back there just was no room to even keep him around.
  4. Dont look now, but the Reds are now on the verge of passing the Cubs. So we also need to root for Reds losses.
  5. I will be extremely pissed off if the Brewers have not wrapped up the division prior to that series. Lots of games versus the Nationals and Cardinals between now and then.
  6. I cannot wait until Rawdy is non-tendered.
  7. If the Brewers are trying to make the playoffs there is a no way you can trot Chafin out again. I think that's 3 or 4 blowups in a row.
  8. Burnes just doesnt have it today. At least the pen is rested.

  10. Sadly, I think this Dodgers series is a "dont get swept" kind of series.
  11. They really really really need to can the entire front office this winter. What a trainwreck.
  12. Monasterio actually reminds me alot of Casey McGehee. Career minor leaguer who never really got his chance. I doubt Monasterio ends up being a world beater. However, I would have no problem with him being a cheap do it all utility guy the next 2-3 years. If the Brewers go into full rebuild this offseason then I could see him being a cheap option to man 2nd or 3rd full time next year.
  13. A lot of people were clamoring for Tyler Black a few weeks ago. Unfortunately, he has a .125 BA with a .323 OBP at Nashville (only 31 Plate Appearances, so yes, a small sample size). So Black is not likely going be to the guy. Dorrian has been tearing it up at AAA lately, so he would be my choice, but he's not on the 40 man so I doubt it happens. My guess is: 1. JB Bukauskas, Rea, or Teheren for the bullpen. 2. Jahmai Jones or Rowdy for a pinch hitter.
  14. I get the feeling in order to win today we are going to need an absolute gem from Houser.
  15. And he promptly mows down the side in bottom 1.
  16. The Rockies stink, the pitcher the Rockies are starting sucks. I think we are good for a whole 3 runs. Rockies 5, Brewers 3.
  17. Justin Wilson is officially done for 2023. https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2023/08/justin-wilson-wont-pitch-again-in-2023.html
  18. I'm still waiting for my 2022 "bite of the apple." And I have a feeling I'm not getting my 2023 "bite of the apple."
  19. And this is why this team should have sold.....
