  1. My fiancé and I picked up a couple parakeets. The blue one I named Seitzer. It was between that and Cirillo but she shot that down on account of the fact that there’s a notorious bootlegger in town who goes by the same handle, albeit a different spelling. I bet there’s other Brewers fans with pets named after the team or players. I’m curious to hear about any other creatures that are cast into Brewers fandom by way of namesake.
  2. Houser was even better than Kershaw today!
  3. I know at least Sheets and Rick Helling had one for us, not sure on total foul balls Fiers had one that I saw. The other immaculate inning for a Brewer not already mentioned was by Doug Jones when he was slo-mo junkballin’ in 97. It was fun and hilarious watching that guy close games.
  4. It stinks but it's no surprise. Any time I read a pitcher's name and the word "elbow" in the same paragraph I just assume TJ is coming. Hopefully JJ is back to form soon.
  5. Even more amazing is that Kolten Wong is going to hit 324 HRs this season despite only having 41 over his first 6 seasons. Despite the monstrous season, Wong likely won't win many MVP votes since his team is going to lose every single game. Such a pity...
  6. If I ever get to Nashville it will almost certainly be for the specific purpose of going to the Grand Ole Opry.
  7. Personally I shut it off with 3:30 to go.
  8. Well that was a sucky game. There’s always something I hate about losing to Oregon, too. 01 and 12 football have soured me on the ducks to good.
  9. I went Kentucky Virginia Michigan duke. Kentucky over duke.
  10. Year to year splits for Fields are intriguing. Of course the small samples invite volatility. Last year he actually was better vs LHB with a .501 ops over 60 PA.
  11. Bethel’s own Pete Kaiser has won the 2019 Iditarod.
  12. That picture is amazing. Just another thing to add to my list of reasons why I love this team.
  13. If he truly did turn down 2 years $12m earlier, I have no idea what he was thinking about. He's turning 33 this season, and has made about $9m for his career so far.
  14. Shipping things out here is a little bit complicated. My town is about a 400 mile flight west of the road system. UPS/FedEx aren't good solutions. (You can use UPS but it costs a small fortune and takes longer than USPS) They really could benefit from an amazon locker out here, people rely heavily on amazon for supplies not found locally. The ship to post office solution I will look into sometime, that might work. Although right now I'm working away from home out on Nelson Island. When I get done out here in a couple weeks, there's no telling when I'll be able to get a flight home. Our post office sends back unclaimed packages after 2 weeks.
  15. Nope, it's not new at all. My guess is probably other people on the street have ordered and spelled it wrong, so something else is established in Amazon's system. Either that or Amazon just assumes with all those letters it's a typo, which I assure you it is not. I ended up having to ship to a friend, because most things won't ship to a PO box.
  16. Amazon does not believe my street name is correct and will not ship to me. Nengqerralria might be an odd street name but what am I supposed to do about it?
  17. I would settle for hearing the sounds of the game and the stadium. No announcers. I'd pay extra for the option of just hearing the game and the stadium. Probably even moreso for football.
  18. Speaking of Fran, I had the good fortune to have good seats with my Dad at the game in 2014 when he came completely unhinged. It happened right in front of us, and I thought for sure he was going to end up leaving the Kohl Center in handcuffs.
  19. I assumed (albeit probably incorrectly) that Kratz's contract was a split contract. I seem to recall $300k guaranteed, $1.2m if in majors. That sounded like a split contract to me.
  20. I never knew until today that the Bundys in Married...with Children were named so as an homage to King Kong himself.
  21. On Saturday we finished out the series Longmire. If you're into westerns and/or crime drama, be forewarned, it's fairly addicting.
  22. Of the 80's WWF big men, I can only think of a few that are still breathing. Abdullah The Butcher, The One Man Gang (Akeem), and Kamala are all I can come up with. It's not surprising that that size and lifestyle would shorten one's life. King Kong Bundy really defied the odds by living this long.
  23. EB is that Clancybait I smell? In seriousness there’s no comparison here. I wish Suter hadn’t gotten hurt because I think the left handedness is the crux of the clamor. If I were to prognosticate, my feeling on the matter is that Keuchel will somewhat outperform who pitches in his stead the next 1 maybe 2 years for Milwaukee. Probably. If he becomes a Brewer I’ll be surprised and a bit disappointed but will hope to be wrong of course. My feeling is that of Peralta, Burnes and Woodruff I think 2 or more of them will put up more war than Keuchel over the next 2-3 years. He’s been very good but I like our guys more with consideration for youth, cost and potential.
