    Pee wee Durbin stinks almost as much as Capra. Sell sell sell because this team just isn't any good.

    If Durbin was the main piece thats a problem in itself since he's basically a last man on the roster type of talent.

    Myers should be given a longer leash considering how good he was last year. This feels like a front office trying to justify the Priester trade by sending down a better pitcher.

    Cortes was damaged goods with only one year of control and Durbin is essentially a throw in so I think the return was extremely light but the bigger mistake was not moving Devin a year earlier. We have a similar decision to make with Freddy who they hopefully can extend but if not he should be moved at this deadline for a maximum return.

    We have a big decision to make on Freddy. I would like to extend him if we can get a team friendly deal but if he turns the team down I think he should be traded at the deadline to maximize the return.

    I feel that way about Pratt at shortstop but Boeve and Wilken are not elite prospects worth "saving" the position for.

    I am not calling for Arnold to be on the hot seat yet just looking for a discussion on his last few moves which have not been good at all.

    I didn't even mention the Shane Smith debacle which was a complete unforced error.

    This is not a thread looking to replace the GM but its fair to ask when does Matt Arnold start to receive criticism for the job he has done the last year or so particularly with his trades and his complete whiff on third base. Devin was traded a year late and taking back damaged goods in Cortes and a utility infielder in Durbin was an awful return regardless of how awful Williams has pitched for the yankees. Now trading multiple prospects and a valuable draft pick for Priester who is completely unimpressive was another misstep at least as of now though he still has time to show something. How is it that every fan knew third base was a black hole yet Arnold did nothing to address it and no Durbin is not a suitable third baseman. This lineup totally lacks any pop and this was obvious coming into the season. The front office has done an admirable job with the draft and especially with their international signings and Arnold did start off hot with the Contreras trade but his last few deals have been questionable at best. This looks like a lost season which can certainly happen with our limited payroll and Arnold is going to have big decisions to make at the deadline lets just hope it turns out better than his last few big deals.

    Good thing they gave up a ton for a 4th or 5th starter instead of using those assets to improve what is the worst left side of the infield in the entire sport.

    Who needs a third baseman when you have pee wee Durbin who can barely reach first base with his throws.

    This team is boring so its quite understandable if people would rather not spend money on a powerless lineup with the worst left side of the infield imaginable.

    This team is extremely boring. The lineup has no power and the left side of the infield is that of a last place team not one hoping to contend. Arnold should have used the assets wasted on Priester who is most likely a 4th or 5th starter best case scenario on a legitimate bat since this team so desperately needs several hitters.

    It feels like this is going to be a lost season with the scrubs running away with the division and the Brewers not being in the wild card race.

    Everyone other than the Brewers ownership and front office knew this third base situation was going to be a disaster. This left side of the infield with Ortiz hitting like a pitcher is something you would expect from the White Sox and not a so called contender.

    I am certain to get attacked as usual but I give the offseason an F. We should have moved Devin a year earlier when he had two years of control and gotten more than just one year of an ok starter and a more than likely AAAA infielder. I also think we should be trading Peralta now when he has two years of control unless we are planning on resigning him. In this economic atmosphere since we have no money to spend we should be moving our assets with two years of control to get a bigger return. Until there is a cap and I hope we get one in the next CBA the likelihood of us ever winning a championship is extremely low and while we are clearly a well run team I am exhausted from all the playoff failures. Nothing that we have done this offeason and really we are a weaker team than the one that ended the 24 season has given me any confidence that we are any closer to that elusive championship than we have been and for me that is the ultimate goal. For those that are satisfied with not being the also ran that we were before the last 7 or 8 years I understand and thats fine but some of us want more and are no longer satisfied with choking in the playoffs.

    How about your holier than though I am a better fan than you because I see the sunshine in everything this team does. He has every right to be disappointed in the offseason and more than reasonable to want more than an early playoff exit every season. Its quite something how the same guys do nothing but complain about fans that don't share the same blind optimism that many do. Can we stop telling fans how to think about the Brewers. Just as it is the right of you and others to trust everything the team does even when they've done nothing it is our right to question an offseason like we have just had. Really its time to get off the soapbox and just accept that others think differently than you and stop the criticizing of such opinions.

    That or we've done nothing to replace Adames and no Durbin is not the answer to anything with his pitiful exit velocity numbers. You can just trust any and all moves that this team makes but some of us aren't thrilled at the likelihood of an infield with three everyday players with extremely limited power.

    Its pitiful that we won't even make a move like this and seem content with Durbin as an everyday option.

    Of course we aren't adding anyone we are essentially broke especially with the local tv debacle. Until there is a salary cap and I am more than willing to give up a season to get one we will always be at best the little engine that could but that more than likely will never lead to winning a championship. We are so fortunate to have added a 5'6" infielder with no exit velocity in the Devin deal and are left with completely punchless middle infield after losing Willy. I totally understand those that are just happy having a team to root for but being at this much of a disadvantage has totally ruined the sport for me.

    Expect a Bregman to the cubs signing soon which will just make it even tougher on the Brewers who have done nothing to improve the team.

    If Dunn/Durbin is our plan for third base we are not serious about competing to win a championship.
